UE669, but I'll have to check. It may just say "669". Granted there are two FW's with 669 in them. The newer version carries the prefix "UE" for (Ultimate Edition).

EDIT: I just checked, and the LCD says "669". Rest assured, it is not the same as the last firmware 669, as it has all the features showcased on the Carrera wheel in the Inside Sim Racing review.

;)

Can you upload this firmware somewhere?

I think that's OK because Thomas posted this on his blog:

"I cannnot tell when the PWTS UE FW will be released so please try to get it from somewhere else."

Thank you.

I suggest such questions are taken to PM.

Also, there was one USER comment talking about
CLUBSPORT SHIFTER
CLUBSPORT HAND BRAKE
you think its true? Because Thomas did mention they were working on something, and only testers and review guys with Fanatec and Logitech wheels will get hands on a unannounced product.. I was thinking some kind of improved shifter. so ClubSport Shifter and handbrake sounds plausible.

I suggested this a while back in this thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=124300

I have heard nothing since to make me think contrary!

What many people dont know: Until 2004 Fanatec sold more wheels than anybody else and we were number one. We want to get back there!

No thank you!!!
You deserve the credit afterall....
I love the simplesness of the new Carerra wheel and pedals which are obviously bare minimium stock from the GT3RS and pedals without the trim added. Thats clever usage of current materials developed, great work...

As a suggestion perhaps Fanatec could consider selling a new wheel which is a competition based wheel and doesnt have the Porsche licensing/styling. Not sure this is possible with your current contract obligations if they even effect you to do non Porsche wheels or when that contract expires?

Seems the trend of many G25/G27 users (including myself) is with them wanting to add a fullsize wheel rim. Lets blame Chillicoke here on GTP but its something Im sure Thomas you have seen on many other sim forums alot were people modify on proper racing wheels.

Personally Id love to see a compeition wheel that takes the latest firmware features and belt drive from the PWTS, doesnt have X360 support but is PC/PS3 and this will become "Clubsport Wheel"

It could be sold in the following possibilities:

A) Without a wheel rim but has a boss fitment for typical "real world" wheels such as "Momo, Sparco OMP" etc.

B) Perhaps a contract can be worked with even one of those brands to make such a wheel compatible with your/their products.

Of course such a new design would be minimal but functional like "competition based". So buttons usually on the wheel could then be on an external unit like G25/27 uses.
Then go one better make this magnatised for easy mounting and bluetooth or wireless for cable free operation?

It doesnt have to include the gearstick just buttons/switches but such a range would completely in my mind compliment the Clubsport pedals and upcoming gearstick etc.

You know it makes sense... 👍

All good ideas. I would add one thing, however.

The paddles need to be available in one to three different sizes, to accommodate various different wheel rim sizes (similar to Chillicoke's upgraded CF Paddles).

True , I missed that, silly fool that I am, just so tired.....
Bedtime for me I think, 💡

Yes indeed. I have been doing some testing with various games to make sure everything is at it should be.

If anyone has any questions about it, don't be afraid to ask. I've fiddled with all the new settings quite a bit. Tested with Enthusia, GT3/GT4/GT5:P, F1:CE, Ferrari Challenge, Forza 2/Forza 3, etc... (as well as some PC titles like RBR, LFS, and GTR2/GTR Evo)

Rest assured, you will all be very happy when it is released. I have yet to come up against a game that is not compatible. GT5:P plays like a dream now. No shaking on center, thanks to the new deadzone and linearity settings.

;)

I got one, Do you know if the firmware is valid for the GT3RS? if not, are they working on one?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Yes, I believe it is valid for both PWTS and GT3RS, as far as I know. Thomas will have to confirm.

;)

Great!!! Thanks a lot.
I've looked at Thomas blog but could not find anything regarding the GT3RS, only the PWTS.
Any idea when he plans on releasing it?

When the PWC wheels are out of stock, they will release the FW to all existing PW owners. With all the hype surrounding the PWC, it should sell out fairly fast.

Again, I'm not completely sure about the FW being compatible with the GT3RS. You'll have to ask Thomas or Armin to confirm.

so...... how do I update my wheels firmware?

When you download the .zip for a firmware update, it contains a readme file that walks you through the process.

Most likely the FW will appear Here before anywhere else.

Most important things to remember:

Update Tool must be run as an "Administrator".
Make sure to close all unnecessary running programs (most importantly any antivirus programs).

;)

I use GameBooster to make sure all unnecessary processes are stopped before performing the firmware. In the Zip file there are either a PDF or a Word document (depends on what version FW you download) detailing how to do the update.

Thanks, so it's not out yet then?

You can't update the firmware on the GT3RS. Thomas said it a few times on his blog.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. Well, there's your confirmation, jjsahagun.

As do I.

Thanks, so it's not out yet then?

Correct. Some people have managed to find it around the net, though.

I remember Thomas mentioned about doing wheels with just Fanatec Logos and maybe even other car companies wheels.
I would love to see the CLK DTM (street car version) of the wheel.

But I bet the BMW M3, M3 CLS, and M3 GTR wheels would sell like hotcakes!

Also I like how you write about selling the wheels without the actual wheel rims. That way I can place anything! I just hope they would sell some kind of instrument panel for all the buttons...

Oh, hey Fanatec, how about something for PC and PS3 Instrument Cluster? Clocks and buttons? A panel that go on top of your wheels, I would love RPM and Speedometer gauge, heat fuel and oil guages, as well warning lights. I always seen videos on youtube with people building their own, but I never found an actual company to sell them. Would it be possible to make something and sell it for around 150 bucks and below?

Make it as small or even smaller like the instrument cluster in the middle. I would be happy :)

Anyone else have anything like this happen before?

Thanks for posting this lovely picture although you would have got a replacement without posting it. But please be a little bit more gentle to your shifter next time ;)

Contact our e-support and you get a new one.

The only reason that works is because the game is programmed to output that data, I highly doubt GT5 or any console game will output that kind of data.
All the kits I have stumbled across have been about $100 just for the data converter, not to mention the gauges and other stuff.

The Fanatec shifter certainly has its good and bad points, but I don't see how anyone could break the shifter without seriously abusing it. I don't shift that hard in my real car!

My H-Gate shifter arrived broken, it wouldn't ever go in 1st. Then it broke completley.
