Does anyone know where I can pick up a USB cable like the one that comes with the wheel? I'm trying to do the firmware update, but I cannot seem to find one.

It's also a fairly common cable for printers if you want to pick one up locally.

I am just about to order a 911 Turbo S Wheel - Pure edition, my only conern is will Fanatec ship it with the Adapter that connects with the G25 pedals ?

Thanks.

I am sure if you mention your requirements when you order, they will send one with it.

;)

Yes correct the Adapter is shipped with the Turbo S wheel, however reading back on a few posts some members did not receive the adapter and were unable to use the wheel until an Adapter was sent out.

This was around this time last year when Fanatec were ironing out teething problems, hopefully they have sorted this problem out 👍

Adapter comes with all pure wheels without special requests.

Not necessarily. If one does not mention the need for one, they may not be sent with it. This has been common throughout the Turbo S lifespan.

Better safe than sorry. Fanatec is a small company, and they are still in the process of releasing new products, starting production on others, and fixing problems with current peripherals.

The more info you give them, the easier it will be for them to meet your requirements.

;)

DR, when will you be releasing your review of the new Carrera wheel? Any time soon(y)?

Hopefully.

It's been done for quite some time now. Just waiting on Thomas to give it the green light (PWC production issues still need some ironing out). When we're closer to production I will release the review, along with my review of the various paddle shift options (stock buttons, little metal paddles, steel paddles, and of course carbon fiber paddles).

I'm just as anxious as you are. As soon as I'm able, it will go up immediately.

Hi

Just received my PWTS and after an hour playing RBR, the fan starts making a strange noise, like some wire is in contact with the fan. Is this normal? Thank you.

Fanatec fans are crap as they so much noise. However some wheels have had a problem of wires hitting the fan.

It's not high pitch like a fan spining really fast, It sounds more like the sound of a fan hiting paper or a wire. It starts after about 1h of play time and i tried leaving the game and let it rest, but still power on, and after 10-15min stoped doing the noise. I don't think it's normal and i'm afraid it might damage a wire or something.

Contact Fanatec.

It sounds like the fan motor is bad.

If you can take a video of the problem (camera phone works fine) you will get much faster results.

Do you guys recommend holding off for the new Carrera wheel that is coming or should I go with Fanatec GT3RS Clubsport Edition? I'm mainly looking for a wheel for the upcoming GT5 but having a wheel for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 would sure be nice. Is the new Carrera wheel that is coming compatible with both systems or just the PS3?

**Update**
After watching insidesimracing.tv review I see it doesn't have CSP and its only for the PS3. So I guess the only question left for me is if the deadzone fix coming to the GT3RS and if the new belt system better on the Carrera.

You could get the Turbo S Ultimate. It's more expensive though but it works PS3/360, has the deadzone fix, drift settings on the wheel, upgradeable firmware and the cs pedals.

Oh and the Carrera wheel is gear drive, not belt. I'm kind of in the same boat as you. Want a GT3RS but I'm PS3 only so it would be nice to have the drift/deadzone settings available on the wheel itself.

Does anyone knows if a new GT3RS comes with the latest firmware? I mean, if it was just now bought brand new from Fanatec.

Technically yes I think the GT3RS comes with the latest firmware but not the way you are thinking of. The GT3RS probably uses different firmware than the PWC and the PWTS so the latest firmware for the GT3RS won't necessarily have the features that the latest PWTS firmware does.

From what I know the missing items from the GT3RS that are in the PWC and PWTS is the ability to uprade firmware, change drift settings in the wheel settings (can be changed in the PC drivers) and set a deadzone.

Can someone confirm just to be 100% sure?

By the way guys, last chance to sign up to test a G27, GT3RS and PWTS: http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/3709

I would go for carrera wheel as GT3RS PS3 support is not guaranteed. Also carrera is highly adjustable unlike GT3RS.

And I would just wait a little bit if you want a PWGT3RS for the Playstation and with all the latest features of the Firmware... ;)

Sounds good!
Can you give us a hint when the new Carrera wheel is ready for sale?
