Do you guys recommend holding off for the new Carrera wheel that is coming or should I go with Fanatec GT3RS Clubsport Edition? I'm mainly looking for a wheel for the upcoming GT5 but having a wheel for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 would sure be nice. Is the new Carrera wheel that is coming compatible with both systems or just the PS3?

**Update**
After watching insidesimracing.tv review I see it doesn't have CSP and its only for the PS3. So I guess the only question left for me is if the deadzone fix coming to the GT3RS and if the new belt system better on the Carrera.

Does anyone knows if a new GT3RS comes with the latest firmware? I mean, if it was just now bought brand new from Fanatec.

Guess what guys!!!

"NEW version: 911 GT3 RS V2 (available now)'

And with that, all the features the Turbo S had (except 360 compatibility) are now available on the GT3RS (upgradeable firmware and all the settings adjustable on wheel) as well as an upgrade for old GT3RS users coming in the future!

This is what I've been waiting for, the PWC looks good but the GT3RS looks amazing. Plus I wanted to have belt drive and CSPs.

I wasn't sure if you would ever come out with this, thanks Thomas 👍

Now I need to save money :scared:

Great news:dopey:, of course, but still 50e more expensive 👎 than G27 (in Greece G27 costs 230e VS 911GT3 RS V2 180e + St. pedals 50e + Shifter set 50e = 280e)

Great wheel in pair with the CS pedals (even more expensive), now with full PS3 compatibility and new features 👍 !

Please (Fanatec) give us more pictures with the new ClubSport Aluminum Shifter Paddle!

I will post more pictures next week.

Check out Delphic Reason's post for more picture of the clubsport aluminum paddles. Really nice.

As for price I think it's fair. The bulk of the price for the GT3RS clubsport comes from the CSPs I believe and from everything I've heard they are way ahead of stock G27 pedals.

Plus the G27 is expensive here in Canada at around $330CAD shipped whereas the setup you described above with GT3RS + shifters + standard pedals comes to $305CAD/USD (almost the same thing right now) shipped.

Just ordered one :D

Damn i can´t wait for GT5 now, but Iracing will help me gettin my daily fix of racing.

it was actually cheaper for me than if i decided to buy a G27 in store.
Just amazing bang for the buck!

I'm still going to wait for news/features on the Carrera wheel before I decide. I think the Carrera wheel is going to be a little bit cheaper?

I hope the support of Fanatec has been improved a lot.

PWC will be a lot cheaper plus it will come with 6spd shifter. No clubsport pedals though and AFAIK you won't be able to order the wheel alone and then the CSPs, you'll have to get the PWC + standard then order the CSPs on top of that.

It looks like it will be an amazing wheel too though.

If there is enough demand, You can bet the PWC will be offered as a "Pure" model, sans shifter/pedals. Similar to the PWTS Pure.

I am dying to release my review (PWC), so stay tuned everyone. As soon as I am able, you will get all the info you need.

BTW, a big wheel comparison is also coming up soon (G27/PWC/PWTS/GT3RSV2) so look forward to that as well.

;)

Thank you!

That got me half way. I have to buy T15 torx bit to take out the main cover.(the gray one)

I have just been reading a review made by engadget that was posted towards the end of last year, it was the first search made via google for fanatec + forza 3.

I was just about to put in my order for a PWTS but came across the above. My main reason is to be able to play Forza 3 and also for use on the PS3.

Can anybody confirm if this is the case ? The guys over at InsideSimRacing gave the fanatec and forza 3 combinaton a blinding review.

Rather concerned over their comments:- "However, we want to clarify that we found the wheel itself to be quite capable in terms of its ability to deliver strong effects via its belt-driven internals... when the game takes advantage of them. Forza Motorsport 3 simply doesn't seem to be doing that"

Thanks.

Honestly take no notice of this review, I remember reading this review when it was first out and being worried about it too. Now move forward to today and I am sitting here watching Brazil vs N Korea and looking at my Turbo S wheel, Clubsport pedals and Rennsport Wheel stand and looking forward to another session on Forza 3 after full time and I know it will feel outstanding, it does feel stronger on GT but this is the programming of the game not the wheel. Feel confident and order the wheel you won't regret it:)

That´s nice Hampus.

The Force feedback in Forza 3 is not up to par and quite limited compared to the FFB in many PC sims. It´s a fact and that is what they state I believe. Still the Turbo S is so much better then the MS FFB wheel there is just no point in making a comparison. So I don´t think you will be disappointed for this game. GT 5 is hard to say I doubt they will stick to the Nov 2 release schedule ;) You may want to invest in a buttkicker or similar to get more road feel. That is a big enhancer for just about every game but particularly Forza 3 which just is a bit dry and clinical without my LFE.

But to see the wheel at it´s best you need to invest in some PC sims.

i am also thinking about ordering one. I already own a G25 and mainly drive iRacing, but this fanatec wheel looks like a major upgrade over what i have. I would really like to try it's force feedback and i think, that clubsport pedals would offer me a major advantage in braking late.
I also own a PS3 and with the latest upgrade it has become a really interesting buy, because of it's full gt5 support. BTW: Can't wait November 2nd :)

FFB in Forza may not be as strong as PC/PS3 games but its not that weak to spoil the game. The FFB is strong enough and very communicative. You'll really enjoy the Turbo S wheel with Forza 3.

Agreed. I have it at 100/100 but yhea.

Just placed my order for a Fanatec Turbo S Wheel 👍

I am really looking forward to use it with Race Pro and Forza 3.

Congratulations and welcome aboard, Funnily enough I was looking at a second hand copy of Race Pro this lunchtime, Lets us know your thoughts I hope they are the same as mine.

So what exactly did you order? the Ultimate edition?
