Delphic, still no news on your Carrera review? though I already have a Turbo S, I am really looking forward to see how you find it compares to Logitech wheels.

It compares quite well.

Soon on the review (I know, very Kaz-like statement), but that's the best I can do.

;)

Congratulations and welcome aboard, Funnily enough I was looking at a second hand copy of Race Pro this lunchtime, Lets us know your thoughts I hope they are the same as mine.

So what exactly did you order? the Ultimate edition?

Congrats!

;)

Thanks guys 👍

I ordered the Pure edition, and I will be using the G25 pedals with it. Actually I have owned the G25 for 2 years now and I have only used the Gear Shifter once :yuck:

Lol, I don't know if you watched Lost but you remind of a comment said by one of its main characters (Hurley) of another all seeing, yet cryptic and mysterious character called (Jacob) "I know dude, he's worse than Yoda..." :)

I avoid "Lost" like The Plague...

Fair enough, if nothing else Thomas is right in his assertion that Fanatec offer a product or combination of products that meets the needs of everyone.

 Looking forward to that 👍 My friend is looking for his first wheel for when GT5 comes out and I'm pushing him towards the PWC. Although he wants a shifter so in his price range he doesn't really have a choice (unless he gets a used G25) more reviews are always better :)

I will certainly announce a test program for the shifter on my blog and you are welcome to apply for it. But it is way too early to discuss.

Yes agreed :)

I just need a wheel that works on the 360 and PS3 without the tedious task of swapping between the G25 and MS Wheel.

I am also very happy with my G25 pedals, which are nicely secured in my racing cockpit to my liking. The Pure edition is perfect for me, lets hope it's not DOA

Just came home and checked my mails, my Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 Wheel - Clubsport edition - EU and my Clubsport Shifter Paddles CARBON are on their way to me.

Watching stega's video's, the ones where he reviews the perfect pedal/clubsport pedals, gave me an idea and a question for you Fanatec...

  • Isn't it possible to make a similar brake pedal or brake pedal mod which will be using some sort of cylinder pressure instead of PU foam?
The problem is that "perfect pedal" patented their cylinder pressure mode.

  • Or make an adjustment so we can implement the electronics of the CSP into the "perfect pedal".

What would be the benefit if we do so? We now have a reliable and highly adjustable system where you can change sensitivity, max pressure and travel of the brake.

You can always make things more complicated and more expensive but why? The CSP are very close to how race car pedals feel and this is what we want.

I wasn't questioning the clubsport pedals. But a pressure cylinder is probably more realistic than PU Foam.

I came up with the idea after watching stega's review of the Perfect pedal mod. That's all. ;)

I would try the CSP's before making such a judgment.

Mine will be here within the week. Expect a full review of the CSP's, and the CSP Tuning Kit to follow shortly after (yes, before the PWC review).

;)

Fanatec, any ideas on how long to wait for images/videos of an early version of the Clubsport Shifter?

Its not really a judgment. I have both, and the perfect pedal brake module is a better load cell brake period. But it is only the brake pedal.
And because of this I prefer the Fanatec Clubsports the PU foam does a great job and feels good too.

Delphic please try the different PU foam. I have not because it is such a pain in the ass. But I really would like to know the differences in the foams.

Perhaps Thomas/Fanatec can explain the differences between the 2 PU foams??

Below are the pedals that Aaron from sim-sport.net makes and the new ones use the perfect pedal as the brake module, but it is not shown here. Of course these are around $1000+ pedals I think that is the only problem.

I have used the newer ones with the perfect pedal as the brake module and they are amazing IMO. Just a bit too expensive and not really compatible with ps3.

Actually, I thought the same thing AFTER I posted the messages.

I wonder: the G25/27 is compatible with the Porsche wheels. The perfect pedal is compatible with the G25/27. So, doesn't it stand to reason that the perfect pedal is compatible with the Porsche wheels?

Is the GT3RS/G25/27 combo compatible with the PS3?

There is a high chance that any pedal you can connect to the G25/G27 will also work with our wheels and if they are connected to the wheel the combo works with PS3.

Is the GT3RS/G25/27 combo compatible with the PS3? YES you need the adapter though.

It is not so much that it is not compatible it just is not plug and play, as it would require some re-wiring and other things to be fully functioning.

I will try out all the different components in the Tuning Kit, and report my findings.

You've hit on the problem, right there.... Cost. Adding such a feature would undoubtedly raise the cost of producing the CSP's, and thus drive up the retail price.

;)

Anyone get any word on when the new firmware for the Porsche 911 Turbo S is supposed to come out? Love this wheel and Clubsport setup but having those disconnects every so often is scary. Actually cost me a first place in a race once :(.

Thomas, do you think it's going to take that long for the Clubsport Shifter? I have the ultimate edition but didn't know it was going to be that long for the shifter.

Recieved my Turbo S wheel yesterday and I have started to put it through the paces.

Lots of good points but because I like to moan, I have a few questions and a few moans / issues.

1) The standard table clamp IMO is very poor, well compared to the G25. I have a Gamepod and when attaching to the shelf I can actully pull the wheel and it will move towards me. I will need to drill a hole in the frame and screw it in to secure it, unless anyone else with a Gamepod can shed some light ? I think Mr Latte has a Gamepod.

2) I was testing F1CE on the PS3, and noticed I was getting around 96% throttle. Unfortunately there are no in-game settings to change things around. I am using my G25 pedals, and if I was to unplug the pedals and put them back in I would get 100% throttle for around 30 seconds and then back to 96%.

I have had a look at the review over at InsideRacingSim on F1CE and can see in the video the guys there are getting 100% throttle, but they were using the official standard pedals.

Anyone have any experience with this game with a similar set up to mine ?

3) Also I have noticed whilst playing any racing game on the PS3 or 360, the steering wheel is around half an inch to the right when driving in a straight line. Is this normal ? I never had this problem with the G25.

Also I have noticed that there are only 3 types of wheels on the european web shop, where are the rest

Thanks all and sorry for all these questions.
