Come on Thomas sort this out.... 👍

We are actually working on it. It is a weakness of our current system that you pay the same shipping if you order 5 wheels or one shifter paddle. It will be solved with the new website in a few months.

Oops, major fail. No offence Thomas.

Great thanks, but it does say on the Fanatec Website "For shipments within Germany and Europe we will charge a pro rata shipping and handling fee"

UK is part of the EU ;)

Look forward to the new website 👍

Although you mentioned a new website was coming almost 9 months ago.
Ha Ha, in true Fanatec style I guess, better late than never...

:)

You mean 'in true PD and Soony style'. Even DR is completely stressed out and a nerve wreck because he's not allowed to post his review. LOL

there si a new interview with Thomas, the CEO of Fanatec. Darin fron insidesimracing really did a great job ;) Lots of great information ;)

FFB in Forza may not be as strong as PC/PS3 games but its not that weak to spoil the game. The FFB is strong enough and very communicative. You'll really enjoy the Turbo S wheel with Forza 3.

Agreed. I have it at 100/100 but yhea.

Absolutely, very true.

I agree as well! I have no complaints at all with FFB feel with the Turbo S

I had to turn down the Turbo S Wheel FF to 50 on Forza 3, as I found anything above this figure too strong :p

Also wanted to mention that the FF on Dirt 2 (PS3) is Naff, but on the the 360 it is terrifyingly strong, it's a good work out 👍

Just been using my Turbo S in Supercar Challenge and had to stop FF was way too strong!! will have a go tomorrow night and work out how to set it up for this game.

I keep my FF at 100 ingame 100 on wheel for forza 3. In real life the forces at high speeds is huge. What you may think is strong FF may be like nothing to a real F1 driver. Look at their forearms heh

Ah excellent :)

I was thinking of getting Supercar Challenge, does it work well with the Fanatec Wheel ?

Will have to get back to you on that. I'm watching Germany vs Spain at the minute!! I am going to try it again later but lessen the level of FF. Its strange, when I last played Supercar Challenge about 3 months ago I do remember it being harder to control the same given car on the same given Track (Ferrrari Enzo on Mugello) than it was to do so in Forza 3. The Force Feedback seemed so much more detailed etc. But last night it reminded me of how the Turbo S reacted to the GT Academy Time Trial earlier this year but even more extreme!!.

The problem was in the intervening months I had re-set my wheel's S5 set up (which I originally set up to play both this game and GT5 Prologue) to allow my young children to play Forza so I opened another set up and had FF & Shock at 100% having by now forgotten what my preferences were. Any way I will lower these in order to get it more controllable, if that fails I will update firmware to 669 in order to adjust deadzone. I don't think this will be necessary though.

I think it is just another example of how bloody sensitive this wheel is... :)

Whatever I would still recommend the game with the Turbo S because it is such a challenging and yet communicative experience.

My Turbo S wheel developed a loud constant rattle noise from around the fan area just after a week and half from delivery date, this would start to happen after 30 minutes of use 👎

Anyway I sent an email to Fanatec Support with a video of the issue, only to receive an email back from them 5 days later informing me that the video is not playable. Also a suggestion from them that I could open the wheel to fix it myself (with guidance from Fanatec) but also advised me at the same time that my warranty would no longer be valid if I opened it up  Why they suggested this to me is beyond me !!

Well things have got worse, the noise has gone, however the fan refuses to switch on at all. Can anybody advise if I should carry on using the wheel or park it for now until I get a response back from Fanatec Support ?

Also does anybody know at what temperature should the fan start to kick in ?

Thanks.

i am having a similar problem with the fan. i wonder if while being manufactured, it wasnt screwed on properly or if a screw fell out... or something. but i didnt feel like recording a video at the time.

Yes does sound like it was not screwed on properly which may have caused the rattle and now maybe the screw has fallen out and has caused the fan to stop working, does sound possible perhaps.

If you're in the US, they ship from california, so around 3-5 days via UPS. these pedals really are something else.

So i consider buying a fanatec put i have some questions prior purchase

What are the differences between the Gt3 and the xbox compatible one. Which one is the more high-spec'ed??
I heard about the handbreak and the new gearshifter they are prototyping.
Will they be totally compatible with the wheels and PS3 / Gt5??

That's all i need to know. If not a better wheel surfaces earth before Gt5 release i get one of these.

EDIT: fixed

here is a feature comparison. I currently have the turbo S wheel and clubsport pedals. Basically, the only differences I can think of are that the PTWS works with the xbox 360, it has a different shape and has a different type of leather. it also has an illuminated buttons (can be turned off on pc) and a plug for xbox headset. The new GT3 V2 has all of the onwheel tuning options of the PTWS now.

thanks never saw that chart.

They stat on their site that the gt3 is fully ps3 compatible. The turbo S also due to firmware updates i suppose??

Still their handbrake mod, how will it be connected to the wheel? Is there still a port (usb / com) open??

Does fanatec accept to repaint the shell of the turbo ? Like the rs colors more

Stega has the wheel mod of the gt3 on the turbo. Do they sell the parts individually?

The Turbo S also has the optional wireless connection to PC and PS3. Both wheels are fully PS3 compatible.
The handbrake will be connected to the CSPs or with USB connection.

If you like the look of the GT3 more but want X360 compatibility and wireless then you should purchase both wheels and swap the electronics.

Thanks
So the handbrake will be compatible with the Ps3?
There are no customization options from fanatec when you order apart the sequential shifters?
I will make my order probably sooner than later.

Nice salesman Thomas ;) (kidding). No for the moment 1 will be enough. Gt3 looks indeed alot nicer. I thought the GT3 would be higher spec'd because of the porsche reference (confused my mind a bit).
I will order the Turbo S UE and than wait for your handbrake and 8 gear shifter (soo good!!).

Thomas I have a question. I did the rim swap on the PWTS -> GT3 v1 about a month or so ago and all is well but... What would happen if I were to have a problem w/ the wheel now? Is my warranty gone b/c I opened the wheel? Just wondering.

I just saw episode 72 from insidesim and I'm so happy! I wanted a GT3RS since I saw it but was always worried about compatablility with GT5. V2 with firmware updates available is awesome. I have to get one now, no reason not to. At the same price as a G27 its a no branier for me. Even more so since it seems the new evolution of fanatec wheels favour a certain sony console and our beloved GT series.

Adjustable steering degree for the win!!! :D
