I had to adjust the wheel to 900 degree rotation as well.. default is 360. I am considering that shifter plate and maybe those aluminium shifter paddles. But i will try to replace that plate with something else (i want to have it lower.. like in the real car). And yes i will build some sort of simple cockpit

For me it's defaulted to 900 but only responds llike 270 in game.

I will be buying.....

The 2.5m shifter cable,
The Clubsport Table Clamp
The Pedal plate (if that's the way to hardmount)

I have the GT3RS V2, but these settings might work for yours too.

Fanatec settings : Sen 900 - FF 80 - SHO 100 - DRI OFF - ABS 100 - LIN 000 - DEA 30

On GT5P go to
Steering type Simulation - PowerAssist no (this might be called something else, I am working from a hungover memory)- FF 6

I will need that shifter cable as well.. stupid me i should have thougt about it earlier. That shifter plate was supposed to be The Clubsport Table Clamp :) So far i am playing that HD Concept demo but Prologue with clutch and shifter should be a lot better..hopefuly i can buy it cheap somewhere.

EDIT: Thanks Boss

Do you have to put it on Simulation for full 900degrees?

Just to let you know UK-Gamer, in GT5:P the steering sensitivity cannot be changed it will be whatever you set on the wheel.

Also the animation of the driver's hands do not turn the full 900 degrees of rotation they only go about 270, but the game does respond to the full 900 degrees of the wheel as you can tell by looking at the car's tires.

Ohh ok.

So after a few hours i found out that those pedals HAVE to be hardmounted.. it is almost impossible to brake because when you push the brake the pedals will lift. And to be totaly honest i am not that impressed with the wheel itself. In SRT review they are mentioning that it is really smooth and FF is greatly delivered.. well i had DFP five years ago and honestly from what i remember i dont find it to be drasticaly diferent. But there are some things that may improve this. First i need to buy Prologue because i think this is the game where the wheel may shine.. not saying Shift demo is bad though..it is the only demo that uses clutch for me so far. Then when i have Prologue, i will use settings that .Boss429. posted. And then i need to build some sort of cockpit.. hopefully i will be able to do it today.. ironing-board isn´t the thing you want to hook up your wheel to :D Other then that the Shifter is great (from G25 which i tried in a shop), pedals are too and that little display with settings is really handy.
So far its 7/10 for me..comparing to the DFP. But when i have all those things done, it can be 9/10 or maybe even better.. we will see :)

With prologue it is much better, with the pedals well..... they are pretty stable with the velcro on carpet, but I'll be looking to hardmount.... EVERYTHING.

I will hardmount everything as well. As for those pedals.. they are stable and they are not moving anywhere. But that lifting is a problem

Yeah, if you brake hard as I do, then the pedals lift, you gotta adjust your feet blah blah.

As for the shifter, I'm on a mission, the cable is tooo short, I shift with force, it slides to the side and when I try get into next gear, it doesn't work and I need to use paddles until I plug the cable back in, it loses seconds.

Here are some lap time of mine on High Speed Ring forward with Lancer Evolution '05

Pad: 1:39.xx
Wheel (First time): 1:36.xx
Wheel (5th time): 1:33.xx

You may say that's bad, (yes it is) but note that Im only in secondary school, first time using a clutch, and this is the first lap (where it only lets you start after like 5 secs is on the clock

With laps after that, I started getting into 1:20's, 1:10's

But that shifter cable isn´t anything special is it? I think you can buy these cables in any electro shop so there should be no need to order it from Fanatec.
As soon as i get prologue i will try it too.. but even with pad i usualy managed to be in top 100 (Pro settings). Corvette Z06 here i come!

Yes those cables are standard PS2 mouse connectors, but in stores they are SUPER SUPER expensive, on Fanatec site its only 2 dollars!

Hi everyone :)

I have enjoyed reading some fifty pages in this thread. My last wheel was the MS Sidewinder FFB wheel many years ago, and I bought the Live For Speed S2 license after some two hours with the mouse, keyboard and the LFS demo. I want to have fun with a wheel again, smelling leather and making a lot of noise. Reminds me how much fun I used to have when I was younger.

Anyway, on Friday I placed an order for a Logitech G27, but with the Fanatec wheels always beckoning, I realized it would be foolish not to choose it instead when I can afford it, and so I submitted an e-mail to cancel the first order yesterday, then placed an order for the Fanatec Porsche 911 GT 3 RS V2 Clubsport Edition + their table clamp, on Fanatec's website.

Problem:
Now I want to add two extension cables and their Porsche Shifter Set to the main order, but the only way for me to do it is by ordering those and having to pay another €26 for shipping, as it register as a new order. Surely there must be a better option for an impatient fool?

Can I simply place another order on the shifters and cables, then trust them to remove the excess shipping, or do I have to tell them to return it to my account? (I do have a PayPal Merchant account and I used PayPal when paying the initial amount).

Thanks in advance for your help, and thanks for sharing so much knowledge, opinions and reviews. It was what finally pushed me over and made the decision to drop Logitech in favor of Fanatec easier.

If the "Fanatec guy" is still reading this thread, my order number for the wheel and CSE is #13896. I sent them a message asking to add one cable, then I realized that, maybe I should get two of them. And then I changed my mind about the shifter. I messed up a bit there, I know.

Our sales team is flexible and will certainly find a solution to just add those cables to your order with no extra shipping cost but please contact them by email directly.

To avoid the lifting we offer the steel plate for the standard pedals. This will also add weight and make them more stable.

When the steel plate is on, is there any excess width.... you know..... to hardmount it with the steel plate?

BTW: Thanks for the Carrera wheel, enjoying my GT5:P much more now.

Thank you very much for the quick answer! I decided to add the shifters and cables as a new order, then submitted a message with the order numbers asking them to merge them. Looking forward to driving with a proper wheel :)

I am also a little excited about your soon-to-come shifter, but I also wanted something to use in the meantime. Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Not sure what you mean...
The steel plate makes the pedal longer. There are screw inserts to mount the steel plate. All PWTS wheels have the steel plate as standard option but for the PWC we had to cancel for cost reasons. At least you can upgrade.

I'm asking if when the pedals are on the steel plate, is there any excess bits hanging out so you can drill it down into your cockpit?

Now I've looked at your pics of it, at the top, it is like abit just sicking out, so you can hardmount there.

As for the history: i had no vibrations on the CSP ;
now i changed the PCBA and vibration motor of the CSP and now they are working.

Thanks Fanatec, Thomas & Armin for the good and non complicated support.

Now waiting for the tuning kit :D

Thanks.

I downloaded it, still not sure I am going to try it. I didnt fully understand the instructions included in the file. I sure dont want to mess the firmware up in it.

Maybe tomorrow or the next day after I will get my RS V2 wheel.

So to play on the PS3 I still have to install Firmware 678? How does that work? I thought the patch is only for PC gaming? So once I plug in the wheel to the PC, install the Firmware, the firmware is installed to the wheel or the PC?

Also to PC, what Driver do I need to play?

i always wait a bit till some people tried out the firmware. Next weekend or so i will try it (need to get hold of a netbook). You always can follow the comments in the forum or blog of 911wheels.

.Boss429. : Just by reading it is hard to get. If you actually do it an follow the instructions it is really easy as the instructions are very good explained.

NoxNoctis Umbra
No you don't need to install it. It adds the features descripted, that's all.
The firmwares by fanatec are cool as they add more features for the wheel over time. So your wheel can do even more in a year ;) . Follow the instructions if you need the firmware, but try it out with the delivered firmware as it might be already enough for you.

The driver for PC is found on the fanatec site under support

You will have fun with it :D
