I saw this video of this guy messing with an equalizer and his sound was superb, I think it Just really depends on what sound system you're playing on as I play on a tin can speaker system straight out of my tv.... It's horrible rofl

Yeah, the EQ can make a difference, but like I said before if the base of the sound isn't good it

won't matter what you add to it to make it sound better it will still sound horrible

Since playing GT6 the best sounding car in my opinion is the Honda HSV = awesome

Yeah I was thinking to buy and tune one just for the sound :)

The FTO had good sounds in the previous GT. I wonder now.
 
TVR Cerbera sounds pretty cool.
 
Did you know that we all hear things slightly differently? Depending on age and other factors. There are some simple tests on the internet you can try.

My sister and I tested it and the difference was quite surprising, even though she is 3 years younger than me I was able to hear much more high pitched sounds.

This is the one I did with my sister, her boyfriend and my parents.



Its layout is more fun than most of the tests.

Interestingly I was at my sisters to test some new speakers she bought. I tried them and found them very flat lacking in high frequency sounds. My sister disagreed and thought they sounded perfect. Just by chance we did this shortly afterwards and we found out that I can hear much more high frequencies than her, so no wonder she thought her speakers were great.

My hearing was at 17000hz which it jokingly says is amazing. Whereas my sisters was at 11000 which it again in jest says poor. My parents were equal with sister. My sisters boyfriend was equal with me.

It's weird because I was sure with all the gigs I've been at and how loud I listen to music in my headphones and whatever I would have the worst!

I got remarkable. My mom got 90 year old veteran.
 
Shelby GT350' 65 (50,000 credit mustang) from 1000-5000 rp/m, but whatever you do, do not rev it over 5000 r/min's, if revved over 6000, the car sounds like it is powered by a V12.

But otherwise, hearing was excellent.. (Tried on test)
 
If I was shopping for a new Dyson, I'd want it to sound exactly like an FT-1 stock on the high speed ring.

old jokes aside, I like the sounds that I hear wearing the wireless sony headset 7.1, I set it to small theater, 7.1 mode, and the few mission races where I find myself amongst 5 or 8 other cars on the carussel all at the same time, makes for fun immersion to my ears. particularly the GT500-R35 class in low-med revs.

The Shelby Daytona coupe '64 is by far the best feel car in this game thus far.

The Red Bull juniors are some of very few cars in this game that actually sounds like tuned racecars. Call me a whiner but seriously.

However, they did a great job on the idle sound. The Shelby Daytona Coupe for example, or the Chaparral 2D. When you go into the tunnel on X route and stop, that V8 idle sounds amazing. But when it comes to a car that sounds good while driving it, the options are very few. (if any) The Ferrari Dino however sounds pretty good.

Next time I hope they'll record from engines and not hairdryers. Don't get me wrong, I love Gran Turismo. But it's 2014 now and the sounds currently in the game just doesn't cut it anymore.

I tried the Plymouth XNR today and what a revelation! Keep it stock apart from a 5 speed gearbox (it comes with a 3 speed). What a sound - a glorious straight six that revs to 9,000 rpm. Another bonus is that it has great handling.

I really don't like some of the new ultra-distorted sounds - the Redbull Junior is probably the absolute limit for distortion - any more and the cars sound grainy like the loudspeakers are damaged.

I got remarkable. Pretty good for 48 year old ears, plus all the abuse I put them through over the years, including various concerts....Kiss 4 times!!!!

I can tell you 1 that sounds totally bloody awful. The Integrale you win. I put sports exhaust on it & it sounds like a fat lazy v8 until you wind it up a bit. Its border line if its a glitch or not. I owned 1 a few yrs back & its nothing like it is in game. And thats my R33 in my avatar & they sound feck all like they do in game.

I thought the lancia delta with stock exhaust sounds like a subaru impreza lol. I remember fully modifying it in gt5 and it sounded so flat, like it was dying. The rx-7 with semi racing exhaust sounds not too bad.

I do wish the sounds were beefier. I watched initial d last night then went and bought shuichi shigeno's sprinter trueno on gt6. It sounded terrible compared to the film. I fact forza has it to a t. I hope they do an update for sounds. F@#k the red bull cars. The only decent one is the jr.

The LFA Nurburgring Package, sounds more like an LFA. At Low revs it sounds wonderful.

However, the base LFA still has the GT5 sound despite the fact that PD could just use the Nurb LFA sound in this machine and call it a day for now :ouch:

X2010 sounds amazing compared to GT5.
 
PD should design sounds that fit all sound systems. only 0.5% of gt players play it with a big/complex sound system. I'm using headphones connected to a Dss2.

Edit: that ear test video is extremely dependent on your headphones.

I have the settings set to Large Theatre mode using my surround sound system, so the car sounds are much more bearable and even good in a lot of the cars. At the very least the whining noise goes away. Unfortunately, if there are too many V8s around my car a lot of them will just mute. Most likely because of the PS3's RAM limitations.

The BMW E92 sounds like a toy in normal and even small theatre mode, but is pretty decent (not nearly deep enough deep enough) to the real thing in large theatre. Same for the '13 Viper GTS.

The Camaro SS also sounds pretty good and I have to turn my subwoofer down if I do any NASCAR car races.
 
The Blitz ER34 seems to deliver the sound of its RB25det pretty dam well, it sounds better than it did in GT5.
 
What the Audi Allroad 4.2 (factory stock) sounds like pulling a hill (inside cockpit).
