does engine upgrade make difference? also i read somewhere if you changed the exhaust in GT5 you could never get the car sound like stock again even if you remove the upgrade , is it the same with GT6?

The exhaust is the thing that GT chose to completely change the sound of a car when you add it. Yeah that might be true, try it and see if that's the case.

Just discovered a car that sounds pretty good and is a fun little sleeper. Not even sure if it was in GT5 since I don't usually use many French cars, but the Renault R8 Gordini '66 runs and sounds pretty good. Not much of a looker though.

The LFA Nurburgring Package, sounds more like an LFA. At Low revs it sounds wonderful.

However, the base LFA still has the GT5 sound despite the fact that PD could just use the Nurb LFA sound in this machine and call it a day for now

The Red Bull X2014 Junior. Even though it isn't real, it has awesome sound!

Might be made up but I think it's probably the best sounding car in the game. It's one of the only cars that when you let off the gas it gives a nice back pressure type crackle sound like real life. I love it. If they could do this with all performance cars with exhaust things would be a lot better in the land of GT6.

As mentioned, straight cut gears in transmissions are extremely loud in real life. If anything, PD lowered the straight cut gears sound effect by a large margin compared to GT5.
