My local GAME store is opening at 11pm, and now I have a Signature Edition on order, might consider going. Chances are I'll just head there in the morning though.

I went into my local HMV today, the guy behind the counter wasn't expecting to have a midnight launch & didn't know anything about the alleged F1 2010 trade in offer - They hadn't received the game yet & he wasn't even that confident the game would be out on Wed :scared:

I rang my local 24 hour Tesco Uber-Market afterwards & the guy there said I would be able to buy a copy of the game at 0000 on Wednesday, no problem at all. 👍

Just Rang My Local Tesco Super Store "if they have they'll sell them was the Only Answer I got"

Think i'll also ring them On Tuesday to see if they can Confirm there Stock List 👍

With my luck there will be a zombie outbreak the day before the release and it will shut down the city again ;-(. ....friggin hate zombies. Then again as long as the power grids are still up I would probably risk the undead for this game.

That's what I intend to do as well mate, I'm a bit spoilt for choice of 24 hour supermarkets round here so I'd expect at least one of them to have it in but Tesco is closest. :)

I called my gamestop and they said they would not be doing a midnight release. I then asked if she knew if I could pick it up at walmart and she said she had even heard of walmart selling copies of games way before street dates. I think I may just go by my walmart in the next day or so and see if I can talk my way into getting the game early. This also had me thinking about all the publications from companies saying they had it in stock from the original Nov. 2 release; I wonder if you could take a copy of that to, say target, and convince them to give you the game early :-)

I've been bugging gamestop about it for the past week. They said it was "possible" that they might do a midnight release

Anyone from Luxembourg here?

I think I'm going to buy the game tomorrow in France. Are there differences between the versions sold in Lux. and France?

What is this "Tesco" place? Is it like a Walmart er...?

MIAMI - Just called every Gamestop in Miami and I only found one store that claims they are doing a midnight launch...every other store gave a very stern "NO".

The store I found that is doing one is:

Gamestop #5159
(305) 264-6404
5709 NW 7TH ST
MIAMI, FL 33126

Call to verify though. I think its weird that every other Gamestop said No....but she said yes.

Yes, they are very much like Walmart. (Walmart owns ASDA in the UK) :)

According to Wikipedia

It is the third-largest retailer in the world measured by revenues (after Wal-Mart and Carrefour) and the second-largest measured by profits (after Wal-Mart).

They have an absolute collosus of a store near to me, it was the largest supermarket in the UK when it was first built. It could still be the largest at 119,000 sq feet it's going to take some beating.

Anyway the guy I spoke to said that it should be on the shelf for me to just pick up & get at midnight on Wednesday, I'm still going to double check on Tuesday night just to be sure.

Called my local Gamestop where my CE is preordered. They are definitely not doing a midnight release. The manager (actually a pretty cool guy, dealt with him multiple times, his store has only once given me any troubles and he wasn't working) gave me the reasoning that it wasn't the amount of preorders that was the issue, but the scheduling.

We received the release date just 1 week ago. It has been my experience that stores usually schedule employees 2 weeks in advance, so it's very possible that the schedule had already been made for the week of Thanksgiving (likely considering the amount of labor needed for Black Friday). GT5 is being released JUST in time to make it on the shelves nationwide for Black Friday sales.

It is also my experience that some corporate businesses pay all their employees from one location, and mail the checks to the stores to be distributed. If this is the case with Gamestop, I doubt there will be midnight releases at most locations in the US.

I'm purely speculating here though.

TL;DR: No midnight release at my Gamestop. 👎

Holy S*** look at that monster of a store!!

I went to my local GameStop pay in full for my preordered CE and asked about a midnight launch. Unfortunately I got a 'probably not' with the reason being not enough preorders to justify one. Oh well...

I spoke to the manager at my local Game Stop, and she said that she wants to do a midnight release to get games out before the neighboring Best Buy does. I hope it happens.

So I asked a friend who has a friend that is a manager at Best Buy. I was literally getting ready to walk out the door to pick up a copy when he called me back and said he didn't want to do it. Talk about a buzz kill.

That sucks. i live in Kansas City and the gamestop i preordered my GT5 CE at isn't doing a midnight. But the one in Leawood is having a midnight launch so i'm just gonna get the standard edition and give it to my brother when i pick up my CE. LOL....waste of time i know. those 10 hours would go by so slow.

Not the store I pre-ordered from. :(

I asked them what time they opened though and I will be there waiting.

Ugg, I just called my local GS. I asked when they are getting it/selling, of course he said Wednesday. I asked if they are doing a midnight launch. Also got a NO. Damn, there goes my night planned. Although I only planned to install it and play a weather race on the Ring. Guess not.

And of course they dont open till 10. Guess I;ll sleep or something, but I find that just wastes racing time.

Ive got 5 gamestops within 20 minutes of me, none are doing a midnight launch. I decided to get proactive and ask 2 of them why, they both basically said the same thing to me, they cant schedule it because of the "numerous" delays with this game.

Meaning they cant schedule people to work that night, to end up finding out at the last minute that its been delayed. Makes sense... I guess. This isnt like a GTA, Halo or CoD game, those games DO NOT get delayed, so you can bank on them coming out on time and schedule your employees.

Why don't you get it from Wal-Mart at midnight? As soon as I got a no from GameStop I went and got my money back.

Because I got the CE waiting. Not sure if you can pre-order through Walmart. There is one down the street so its something to look into, I can always sell or gift the other one. Can you pre-order from walmart, or should I just walk in at midnight?

Most retail stores prefer to do midnight launches for multi-console games...GT5 being PS3 only is unlikely to get a midnight launch.

I was hoping to lineup for a CE as most stores around me don't let you pre-order the CE...but I guess that won't happen.
