Anybody else bored out of the game?

Maybe you should look at other type of games, maybe Gran Turismo is not your kind of game, have you thought about that?
GT6 lacks stuff at the moment, true, but they are coming in an update.
The physics changes make this game be completely different and you have lots of stuff to do... Have you tried online for instance?

Track creator, B-Spec racing, smoother looking lines on certain cars, perhaps more styling options...

I don't think anyone bought GT5 because of B-spec, it was essentially all about tapping X once every minute and hoping Bob wouldn't wreck the car. Track creator might have attracted some, but it wasn't very useful. So yeah, all features from GT5 aren't in GT6, but most of those that are missing weren't any good so I have a hard time seeing how the lack of those makes the game boring.

If he finds the game boring without B-spec and that GT5 course maker, the inclusion of them would probably not make the game a lot more fun for him.

I am with the OP , bored.com ain't played in a few weeks now got the new update and that was it , no content for me in there

It has less features than GT5 for offline mode/arcade and I feel as if I bought a sim that shouldn't have been released as it is a right mess. I'm wondering if it was released in a hurry as a tactic against Forza.
I don't think it would be wise to think GT6 will ever be a polished product as GT5 wasn't.

It's a pity because some aspects of the game are brilliant and realistic but it's really just a demo or a prologue 2. I'm not looking forward to that stupid long drive in the countryside "track" either.

Can I get my money back?

It depends. How long have you had GT6 for and how many hours of play on your status screen? Completion % ?

I'm with the OP too:tup:
Though I do have faith that - like with GT5 - the gameplay will evolve with future updates. (I still remember fondly my SLR with smoke coming off the rear tires at 30mph and catching its own broken front fender on the kerbs at Tsukuba and flipping over!!!!:banghead::lol:)

I'm at 100% and about 300 miles off of platinum. I have bought all the cars I need thanks to my trusty Deltawing at 24 mins of Le Mans & Spa and my BMW M4s(ahem!:O:dopey:). The photomode forums are the only reason I still play it daily.👍

You are right about me personally not buying the game for the B-Spec feature, but I did learn a few things from using that mode. The Track Creator is something I do really miss though.

I do not think brining B-spec into GT6 will make any difference to the way players play the game because it is boring now we do not want to make it anymore boring and remember this is a racing game to race. As eran0004 pointed out about tapping X once every minute and hoping Bob wouldn't wreck the car which is no good to have B-spec in a game. And I will say this again this is a racing game.

So what other racing games have these features that GT is missing such as course maker and B spec ?

If GT is boring because such features are missing you must find all racing genre games boring so maybe racing games aren't for you.

What features are you missing?

Offline single races are still missing optional mechanical damage, tire wear/fuel use, and one-make races (available in Practice mode in GT5). It is inexcusable that these GT5 features are still not in GT6.

Endurance races are also strangely missing. I tie B-Spec in with this because I read somewhere about being able to trade stints with B-Spec drivers. That (and for making money) is the only reason I care about B-spec, and the only way I can understand endurances not yet being in the game.

I haven't play it for days. I feel like returning it back to amazon because it is so boring. Otherwise and I think this will be the situation I may just store it away for 6 months because hopefully by then PD would have actually updated it to make it worthwhile and fun to play.

still arent out, and we were only informed that they wouldnt be avaliable on release day 4 DAYS before release.
and are now late as january was clearly stated.

the online has less features than gt5
the offline has less features than gt5

i am totally bored of it, was after 3 days and have really just been waiting for the community mode since.

i really do think they were disingenuous to promote the game like they did.
i doubt i'll get gt7 now, really has put me right off them as a company.

btw what will the community feature bring this time? is it the exact same thing as gt5 or will it improve where you can have challenges & leaderboard with your friends? is there any info about how different it will be? [ although given the fact that PD removed some options/features that were available in gt5 i my self cant see the community feature being anything more than what it was in gt5 ]

After I completed the career mode, seasonals became my main focus. As someone has stated before, the super lap seasonals are following a logical progression through the list of gift cars. As far as something to do with each car, I pick my favorites and personalize the tunes for the fastest possible setup for a specific track. I'm also trying to learn the cars which do not allow ABS(irl). If I get burnout, I take 20 minutes, a day, or however long I need to re-gain interest or composure(due to frustration). Some people do not like hearing this but boredom stems from a passive attitude or feeling of entitlement. We must seek out our own enjoyment. If we do not find it, then we're looking in the wrong places. /philosophical rant.

@Cosbuster I welcome updates. I understand why the expections for others run high but I tend to keep my expectations (for this series) low. That is most likely a defense mechanism and a testament to the past, but not exactly healthy. Its the way I keep the stress low. I voice my constructive criticism because I do feel there is always a need for improvement in myself and in this game. I don't want to come off as smug. I just wanted to let you know how I manage it.

EDIT: FYI three new seasonals are available. To be honest, I put in two to three hours a night on some seasonals and I never seem to have the time to compete in more than one seasonal. With the tuning and testing involved, it seems I have time for only one car per three seasonals. So, to me, there is more than enough content seasonal-wise. Still, I welcome more features.

I think the "atm" part of the topic is key here. It will get better, right? See now I'm even doubting it myself. As of today I'm no longer going to just log in to keep the bonus rolling. I want features, not seasonals.

They are nice and much better than the usual rabbit seasonals from GT5 but how long can 2-3 events per week keep one occupied? They are just small distractions and don't really solve the problem of lacking features.

I'm still hopeful, but as time goes on I am losing faith. I expected to see communtiy features in January, and either the course maker or endurance/B-Spec in February and/or March. Well, it's February 13 and we still have none of that.

Wow, what do you guys want? The game now is available since two months! What other games are playable for such a long time? The only one i can think of is Grand Theft Auto, most other games make fun for a few days or weeks!

I played GT5 for years and will do so with GT6 (both games wich are soooooo bad and unfinished....), no other game ever gets close to that!

I don't know about you, but the majority of games I buy are very playable for months if not years. GT6 is not that special. If anything, it feels worse than all the previous GT games as far as longevity goes.

And this is the best part. I have more reasons to play GT5 than 6 currently.

Umm, I want the same features that were available in GT5, and the promised "shortly after release" new features (or at least trailers, demos, a timetable for release, ya know, communication) would be a nice touch as well.

For me the top three were:

  • Improved physics
  • Improved loading times
  • Course maker
Regarding course maker they said in September that it might not be ready in time for the release. When did they say "January"?

I don't want to add fuel to the fire of speculation, but it's my *personal opinion* that something isn't quite right.

- The confusion over the date of the RedBull thing, and subsequent apology.

- The two "big" updates we didn't get.

- Continued silence regarding DLC, Community features, course maker...

- The fact that GT5 seasonals are being updated WEEKLY, and on a timetable.

- The serious game flaws that are simply not being addressed. At all.

I fear that something is amiss. That's all it is, just a feeling. I so want to be proved wrong.

Good ridance, i guess.

You are bored of the game, fair enough, that doesnt mean the game is boring and you get bored of it easily. Its your problem. In online mode, you can have countless of playing hours with those countless race types and combinations.

Even GTA V gets boring when you do the missions, and online in GTA is just for trolling and to people attack each other verbally... You guys go play any other racing game (NFS for exemple) and tell me that when you finish the game you don't have nothing more to do...
The game gets bored for you because lots of people here tried to finish the game in 1 week, playing 5 hours a day. I have the game since January 7th and only have 80% of the game completed. I have no idea about what you do for living but please, play other games, do sports in real life, don't do drugs, have fun with friends and stop playing GT6 like if you are in a hurry to finish the game, this is all you need to do. And when you play the game itself try to do different things like tuning, online races, I don't know, just try to distract yourself.

Ok, i think i just should be happy to have other things to do than constantly complain about Gran Turismo - wether its GT5, GT6 or every other GT game that will be released in future, you guys seem to be never satisfied and i really feel sorry to you :(
