You complain of people taking things out of context, while the sentence before is finished with a "sly" for someone being "so foolish" to use your direct context.

Now back on topic, no I will not drop gt5 as for me it combines what I like. Cars that handle accordingly to their drivetrain, power, weight ect. And regular updates. In FM3 (yes I own it) I was so bored that the only time I even turned it on, it was only to see what a civic could do in a drift. Apperantly they drift rather well, no joke. And that is why I will keep playing gt5!

2. I don't think there is one, save for a game which suits personal preferences, which are a completely individual matter.
Did you NOT read this post I made?
IF your ideal racer is one which is based on real world motorsports, complete with rules, 3D animated race marshals and concession stands, then there's a good chance that GT5 is going to blow chunks to you.
BUT it depends. Do you also like amazing graphics? Having a wide variety of cars - in the case of GT5, a crazy long list? Weather and daytime transitions? Very lifelike physics? Support for a number of good racing wheels? A fantastic photo mode? Some rally racing? You might also love GT5 and consider it your guilty pleasure. Or Forza 4. Do you fancy yourself as being a livery artist, creating lots of race cars? You might love Forza 4 - at least I hope so, I'm not looking for yet another Forza with little love bombs in it like the atrocious file and photo system from FW3.
Do you want GTR-light, something less dry but with the flavor of a sim? You might really dig Shift.
And to be fair, like hundreds of posters here, I'm hoping that GT5 gets patched up into the monster we were expecting, Standard cars and tracks aside. And hope that Kaz and the team learn their hard lesson with our reactions to this game, and make GT6 the epic we're hoping for.
And just to toss Forza fans an olive branch, T10 has to trumpet everything they can about their game, so I wouldn't give them a hard time about the mention of paid DLC. It's what they've always offered, and if they hadn't mentioned it, the fans would have a fit until it was confirmed for Forza 4.

This might come as a surprise, but factory cars, especially an old 50's car, lean quite a lot when cornering hard, especially if they've been fitted grippier tires.

I voted maybe. If FM4 fixes all the issues that made me abandon FM3 then I will get it. BUT that doesn't mean I will leave the GT series completely, I am still hoping we will get the features promised on the back of the box.
I have been following this thread closely and have had a great laugh at the rabid fanboyism is this thread. Both games have their issues to work out and are far from perfect, GT5 is great in some ways, but PD should be embarassed about some of the choices that they made. I sincerely hope that PD wakes up and smells the coffee, this isn't the 90's anymore. GT5 feels like a trip down memory lane at times, with the low res car models, outdated tuning options, etc. Games like Forza have opened the eyes of many people to what a console sim can be, and for PD/Kaz to ignore these things comes off as a bit arrogant on their part.

I see it too, and if you're saying what I think you are, I agree.
It has that, "you're seriously hauling ass" look to it, loud incredible sound, combined with what appears to be almost par graphics with GT5, (that would be the Forza part, not shift
) though I have to expect better graphics in areas outside of PD's "new" cars and tracks, like I noticed Cote D Azur has GT4 graphics, just for example, I'm sure FM4 will have something along the same lines for tracks, but I have to suspect they'll look better.The only thing that video leaves me wondering about is physics, just because I haven't personally played it, not the video's fault really.
FM4 definitely has the potential, we'll have to see if they implement everything right though before we start praising, but this is the most excited I've been looking at a game since GT5, and I was waiting for "the first GT game on the next system" since GT3 blew my mind back in '01.

I played forza 3 a hand full of times so I dont really remember what forza physics are like.
But if they manage anything close to gt5
GT5 will onlly be seeing me when they add seasonals ... and a few online matches I do monthly because I wont be getting live .
I liked shift 2 but the physics were so disappointing after all that hype about the " individual tire pressure" or what ever type precision type of physics EA was talking about lol all it seems they did was add a 0.058 delay to the steering

I wouldn't worry about Forza 4 feeling much like Shift. Like GT, Forza has a lineage and a flavor/feel which is coming from a bunch of coders' views on what a car is like on the road. Just as GT5 is a refinement of refinements in every game, though in a quantum jump in realism in GT5, Forza 4 is going to be Forza, and feel like Forza. I'm assuming a refined Forza, because F3 was a step in the right direction, and I doubt that they're just going to port the same old code from F3.
If they do... eh, no biggie for me. May main gripe in handling cars in Forza is with the driver views. I hope the hood view or whatever they give us doesn't seem too low, or I'm going to be playing F4 in order to paint cars, and GT5 to race cars.
I spent a few fun hours today just doing time laps with different cars on Laguna Seca. Bought an LFA and couldn't believe why some people here hate it. I wanted to get in some racing - offline against bots, plenty fun for many of us - but my bro came home from work and talked me into doing some Anarchy Online, my MMO of choice. But one of these weekends, I'm definitely setting aside some quality time with GT5. Even if I have Forza 4.
