I checked out some forza4 videos recently. I must say the attention to detail on the cars is probably a bit higher than GT, but I like to race my cars not stare at the intricate carbon fibre gauge pods.

The racing seems similar to GT although that from watching a vid, the truth lies in playing which I don't think I'll be doing.

Really depends on how good a play FM4 is.

Which for me would primarily be:

Good, solid, and extensive single player.
An improved list of tracks.
Possibly a move to something better than the PP system, although I doubt this one will happen.

Otherwise FM is way ahead in car customzing with paint, decals, wheels, tires and so on.
Other aspects of FM3 are on par with GT5 IMO.
No Porsches doesn't bode too well.
Possibly they will substitute with RUF like PD has.

Go slap sticky semi-racing tires on a daily driver and get back to me.

That's quite the assumption on your part. Unless there is more to that video then I have seen, I seriously doubt this is the case. I am sure your next 'I got an answer for everything' style of excuses for the way the cars move is that they are all set up that way, right?

Anyways, since "zoology" likes to post head to head videos, perhaps he can show us a GT5 vs FM4 night racing, or better yet a driving in the rain gameplay comparison? With the knee jerk reactions around GTPlanet awhile back over the possibility of GT5 not having those features, I expect the lack of FM4 depicting these very things to be downright criminal to those who can give us a bullet point list on everything GT5 does wrong.

Indeed.

Ya come November this game will be on the shelves at GameStop. Just not really interested in playing it anymore especially with F1 2011 being released.

I plan on having both and playing both. I plan on still playing Race Pro 09 as well. I love all the games.

Sold. I don't know how or when, but sold.

Exactly.

I see it too, and if you're saying what I think you are, I agree.

It has that, "you're seriously hauling ass" look to it, loud incredible sound, combined with what appears to be almost par graphics with GT5, (that would be the Forza part, not shift:lol: ) though I have to expect better graphics in areas outside of PD's "new" cars and tracks, like I noticed Cote D Azur has GT4 graphics, just for example, I'm sure FM4 will have something along the same lines for tracks, but I have to suspect they'll look better.
The only thing that video leaves me wondering about is physics, just because I haven't personally played it, not the video's fault really.

FM4 definitely has the potential, we'll have to see if they implement everything right though before we start praising, but this is the most excited I've been looking at a game since GT5, and I was waiting for "the first GT game on the next system" since GT3 blew my mind back in '01.

On the FM4 replay you can see clearly that the cockpit vision don`t shake, only the car not the landscape. It turn the car possible to drive. In GT5 when you brake or take a bump.... anything cause trouble for the track vision. This is really bad, i would like to use the cockpit vision but i can`t. I know that race car shake a lot ,but not the pilot eyes. PD need to fix this urgently.

When I saw the Laguna Seca video of Forza 4 I though it was my imagination, but now is true... That motion blur is exaggerated and very distracting IMHO

I could do that, which track would you prefer? Laguna Seca? Indy? Top Gear Test Track? Tsukuba? I reckon they'll look quite similar.

Are those tracks (in FM4) featured with wheather/time change? That would be quite remarkable...

It's a sad state of affairs when you have to defend a game on it's own fan site.

No escape from the haters these days.

I sometimes wonder if GT Planet should be called We Hate GT planet.

Tenacious D
The videos remind me very much of what I've seen of Shift 2, like the interior hud elements.

By the way, I saw the opening snippet of the Forza 4 intro movie with Jeremy Clarkson. Oh... my... gawd. Does Forza really need another dose of arrogance on the opening of the game?

I agree. It definitely has that sense of speed that the movement of the helmet camera gave you in Shift 2. I'm just glad there is no overdone motion blur and forced look to apex. I will be using Kinect for that.

Oh boy. I haven't heard a "True Fans Don't Criticize" since Shadow the Hedgehog came out. Nostalgia everywhere!

There is criticism and then there is full-on trolling.

This site gets worse by the day because the Mods do nothing about it. And it will continue to get worse and worse.

Spot on, my friend, Couldn't agree more. I would also really love to use cockpit view in GT, but you just can't see good enough for precision driving. :(

No, most games set cars with sticker then stock tires, some even argue this for GT5, so it's a reasonable possibility.

I've already spoken my piece on GT5's rain, I hate it. Night racing is neat, but not a game breaker for me.
Sorry if what's important and not for me isn't the same as for you, having never played a single FM game, you can't possible be assuming I'm biased though, right?

You should understand the difference between others "knee-jerk" reactions not being my reaction. I care about many things in a racing game before weather, night, pretty trees, among other things people asked for.

NO! Jesus what the hell why should i drop this for some strange game that isn't even as good? Oh i have a idea lets sell Midnight Club LA because Fifa 12 is coming out! Yay!

Mods please close this

Why should the mods close it...cause you say so and it harms your ego and creepy love for GT5? The op is just asking a a question I and many others wonder.

Night and weather are features we will continue to evaluate as the franchise continues. We’re waiting for the right time to deliver these features to our fans.”

A above quote is in regards to the LACK of weather and night racing in FM4. BTW, it's from the 'definitive' source himself, Dan Greenwalt.

No working wiper blades on FM4's cars? How GTPlanet-ish "disappointing".

If the mods aren't doing anything about it... then it probably isn't "full-on trolling."

Or maybe the fans are critical cause the game obviously needs improvement that the company should be aware of before the next installment, just in case they thought this was an over sweeping success. There is a good group of people that aren't blindly faithful to a game like some political party that you've given several years to with no results. Things tend to improve when you criticise them.

As long as Forza has a 'rewind race' feature, GT will be better.

Go ahead, argue. Like I care.

lol´´

this shows that you've never played it! 👎
(or it is normal that GT player have the difficulty on super easy)
This is an Option for the easy mode! for children
An Option that GT will never see!!

I hear over and over again this stupid excuse.
How often have these lame parole to forza?

if you want to have sim, then put the options correctly!
It's not like GT.

I thing that Forza has better all around!

particularly the community! because they're not so grim and not have to justify the time!

For the last time that video is not photo mode or Autovista. The ignorant are continuing to make incorrect claims. www.ForzaMotorsport.net

Little advice my legal advisor told me: Only know what you can prove.
The video iam refering to is this:

Thats the one you posted and you can clearly see the scenery being reflected on the cars. Its the exact same scenery in this video:

Its the Top Gear Homespace, which is no gameplay! It is something like photomode!

So your blindly faithful to the game if you can look pass all the faults ?
lol
I mean .. I dont know, this is the only game forum im on so excessive complaining in a majority of threads might be normal.
Because this IS the place to show your fustrations for the game.
I just want complainers to understand that just because the site has alot of complainers doesnt mean that the majority maybe feels that way.
Speaking personally I know people who are new to the GT series that love and some thats been playing since gt1 that hates it .. and vice versa.
But thing is EVERY game will have its faults and complainers and there will be people who love it also.
So my advice to the people who enjoy the game , dont take the complaints personal .I know its annoying watching people talk so negatively SO MUCH (:grumpy:) about a game you enjoy but .. they paid for it so they have the right to complain.

Strictly speaking, Photomode is gameplay. It's a convenient way of calling videos like that gameplay, sure, but it isn't pre-rendered CGI.

Photomode in general for racing games (GT, Forza, Shift, etc etc) is a crafty way to produce "in-game" bull-shots. They're all guilty of it :)

So, you just proved my point right here: "Its the Top Gear homespace" Not photo mode or Autovista like you/several individuals said that it was.

Good job!

All of that just to get back to the initial point. Amazing...

Also, I never claimed it to be in-race gameplay footage. Might want to learn to read.

If you want to see gameplay comparisons between the two refer to my posts on the previous page.

Thanks again!

But the Top Gear Homespace is a part of autovista :)

So technically it is autovista

Check this video out and tell me what you think. I am not trying to start any speculation on physics but to me the car handling seems off. There are a few more videos if you type in forza 4 and set it to most recently uploaded and it looks like this also only with an older car and another with a trans am.
