I find it amazing.

And tracks are too wide? Really? Ever think that real race tracks are wide? Which, you know, they actually are.

Indeed. Unlike rally courses, which are usually very narrow. Only someone didn't tell Kaz that since he built rally courses wider than the sun.

Autovista = Photomode rip-off wow, never saw that before. They dont look as good while driving which is all anyone cars about.

What a load of rubbish. How is autovista a photomode rip off? first of all taking photos of cars is hardly revolutionary thinking and secondly autovista lets you fully explore the digital cars, something which GT5 photomode does not.

Seen Autovista?

lol, because he totally used the "skills" he learned in GT5 to race real cars.

Guess what? The guy who won the 2009 Le Man 24h said he was using FM3 to practice and numerous professional drivers have said FMs physics are amazingly realistic. :dopey:

Did he link? They would never been MS huge marketing dollars at work, LMAO....

And what they suppose to do other than replicate visual part of the game engine?
Proof-link? Game that has amazing physics but looks like crap (car-moving wise) and vice-versa. I'm not talking about shaders, textures, and resolution now, you know.

Seen Photomode? :)

What boggles me is the fact that you are in a GT forum bashing GT. Not only you, but thousands if not millions of GT "fans" that spend their time bashing GT. Why dont you go to a Forza forum and do that in there? Go play your wanna be sim, while I stay here enjoying the better game.

By the way, Le Mans 2009 winner "guy". Doesnt he have a name? Where is it? Oh yeah, you dont know, because you are making stuff up. Nice try

So they took photo mode copied it and added to it in a newer game....If you cannot see how autovista is notihng more then an extension of photo mdoe then yopu're clueless. WOW Im gonna go buy Fm4 right now because of AUTOVISTA despite I already own a betetr handling racer LOL.

Better handling and looking racer. Not to mention the quantity of content it has, which is by far, larger than Forza.

They didn't copy photo mode. You can't 'copy' something as basic as taking photos of something. Games have been doing that for years and years. It's not copying, it's just using the same feature in the same way people all used the same idea of creating games of driving cars. It's as basic as you can get a feature.

Autovista is nothing to do with taking photographs of static cars, it's about exploring cars inside out, with commentary about the cars and facts and stats. How has that anything to do with taking pictures of the car? Forza has a standard photo mode on top of Autovista.

For what it's worth I don't give a damn about autovista and won't use it when I buy Forza 4, but your claims about it are just ridiculous.

GT5 already as detail on every car in the game, in the museum.Name another game that allows you to take detailed photos with a detailed history of each car? Gt has always had this, Turn 10 just put theirs in their autovista mode, wow, revolution lol.

Dont care about either mode, i love how Gt handles, and until forza reaches that kind if intricate handling physics I;ll rent it. Yes I own an xbox, mainly for Gears of war.

One BIG let-down. Only 25 cars. You will explore them in few days if not faster.

When I first saw AV mode it was like "Yes!I'm buying it!If I not driving I will be exploring!" to me. Then I saw number of 25 cars...of all 500+...

Yeah if tat was GT everyone would be all over the ONLY 25 cars?????

Watch this and tell me where you can do this in GT5 or how it's in any way similar to taking photos of a car.

I never claimed it was revolutionary, I just said it wasn't a "rip off of photomode".

I really cant say enough how excited I am that EVERY car in GT5 will finally have an interior view. Reading that truly made my day. I have been saying since GT5 came out that the standards at least need to have an interior view. So this is just way beyond exciting for me. I will finally get back into GT5 again after giving up on it in Jan / Feb. :)

You rather do that, than drive the cars around the tracks? Are we talking about a racing/driving game or an exploring game? People seem to forget what they are actually playing. And I lol'd at the 25 cars only.

The thing is that he is right. Alexander Wurz really played the game. It was some kind of advertizing for Forza 3 and the Peugot Team was there to give interviews to various sponsors, such as Microsoft. He admits that he is not interested in videogames, but that he is in Forza 3 and so on. The typical PR stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jk3EKuT2so

But Interviews like that were allready done before and have been done afterwards. Game developer X goes to driver Y to talk about a game. Driver Y says what he is payed for and thats it. Everyone does it, rarely anyone thinks that those statements are actually for real.

What a shock, seriously.

@Autovista: Its like Photomode with a "+". GT5 features several settings to the staged photos, like position of the car, position of the wheels and the lights could be activated, or switched off. Now Forza lets the players open the doors and hood. Oh and you get info on the car, something that GT5 only gives you in the car dealer and the demo drive.
I think its a good addition, but nothing that could possibly seal the deal for me. The core gameplay is where its at.

Ok, at least you stated his name. And I know who he is. Great driver. Now whether it is marketing or not, I dont know. Its probably most likely to be. Not saying Forza is crap, actually its great, but it doesnt beat GT5, and now with Spec 2.0 coming out, even less of a chance it has.

Didn't you see the post above about how I don't care about Autovista? Well I don't, but some people do enjoy that side of thing. Some people on Forza just spend most of their time painting cars, some spend most of the time taking photos, others will enjoy looking through cars in Autovista. Others will just prefer to go racing. That's the beauty of games offering you the choice, it has something for everyone.

As for 25 cars it is low but totally understandable when you see the detail of each car, it must have taken a hell of a lot of time modelling not only the exterior parts in insane details but also all of the insides.

But then you can turn that around and say that about GT5's premiums right? Works both ways no?

No, because once again you cannot do that in GT5. You also cannot spend time painting cars in GT5.

HUH? that doesnt make sense? its Ok for Turn 10 to only be able to model 25 cars for autovista, bit its not OK for PD to take a long time to model 200+ premiums, i mean no other game's models touch Gt5 premiums. Sorry, but that's hog wash. I'm talking about the time it takes to model the premiums. It's Ok for turn 10 but not PD? I see, a little hypocrite we have here.

This. What up will all the hate with GT? Is it because of how successful its been and people want to bring it down? Nice try, losers, but it aint happening. GT is the king of sims(along with PC sims). Forza is a wannabe.

What? PD didn't model 200 cars to the same detail as Forza have for Autovista, unless you're going to claim the GT5 models have all of that detail under the bonnet/boot etc.

Is that why T10 released 3 games before PD released 1 sequel?

OK Let me see, mmmm then, Tourist Trophy, Prologue and GT PSP were created with spontaneous generation? Also doing comments at the same level, PD just needed 2 years (GT4 to GT5 Prologue) to reach things like graphic level and amount of cars on track meanwhile Turn 10 needed Six years (Forza 1 to Forza 4) to reach those features, IMHO, yes they release 3 games, but they need more time to reach a level than PD showed 4 years ago ;)

Is that why T10 is pretty much leading the way for racing sim community options?

Everyone has strong points, and Yes, it is true, in online and community options T10 is better

Face it, T10 are leagues ahead of PD in many many ways.

As PD is leagues ahead of T10 in many many ways ;)

Sigh, no but they are still more detailed then any other games in game models for racing, but its not OK for PD to only be able to model 200+ but it is Ok for turn 10 to be only able to do 25 in Auto vista? Again, thats hypocritical. PD were able to do around 250, considering the detail of the premiums compared to forza's,, you get my drift.....

Which they do... unless you're blind.

No, I don't. On top of the 25 insane detailed cars for autovista in the same time they've modelled and improved upon through generations 600 odd 'game' cars, all of which are not far off the same level as GT5s 200 premium models.

Which they do... unless you're blind.

I must be because last time I played GT5 I wasn't able to open the bonnet, boot or any part of the car and look at the insides of it.

I did drop it several months ago, but now with the 2.0 update, DLC and all, I've started to gain intrest in it again. Maybe I'll have to dig my DFGT out of the closet.

EDIT: Just watched the Forza 4 trailer on their site. First of all it's obvious that's not in-game graphics (unless I've missed something and Xbox720 is around the corner), and secondly allthough the details are great the cars still look plastic to me and the tires still has the same odd shape. GT5's models are way more accurate, and I don't say that because I'm a GT5 fan, but because it's the truth.

While the Autovista sure is nice and all but the normal car selection screen renders of the cars are far from ugly from what I saw in the demo.. And to clear me from any fanboyism to any direction I absolutely love Gran Turismo's but to be realistic, the Forza series is really good in it's own way. And now in the fourth game it's stepping a bit towards realism so I'm very excited about next week, Monday the Spec II and Friday the Forza.

*Edit yeah and I'm not even considering to drop GT5 anytime soon. A great game and about to become even better.

So you need to open parts of the car to see the insides of it?! Yep, you need to have your eyes checked.
