Anyone think SCEA is just being lazy?

Honestly, is it too much to ask for a US Version of Prolouge? It cant be that hard to to transilate the screens and make it us compatable.

I'd much prefer them to keep translating GT4 than GT4 Prologue.

Why dont you get your PS2's chipped ? Then you wont have to wait on the GT4 translation either ? :)

Fully agree, I think its also maybe that there wouldnt be such a big market willing to pay that price. Its not at all alot of translation to do....and tbh they could have had it done allready and they could also translated GT4 upto today to english. As fast something is written in japanese they could translate it to English.

Who really cares about Prolouge? It's just an extended demo. Let the SCEA keep their attention on the full version of GT4. GT4 is where it's at, not Prolouge.

Does anyone know how long of a difference in release time there will be between Japanese-US-EU with he release plans? I really hope its not more then 1 month on each change as then they are some lazy bastards that I flick my finger

Its not that they're being lazy. I read somewhere that the reason they didnt release GTC and GT4P in the US is because Americans dont receive those types of games ( Short Demo type) that well. (read: not sell well).

Of course, id buy it, and most Americans on this fourm would buy it. But i guess they dont care about the minority. :irked:

SCEA thinks that Americans wouldnt understand that it wasnt the full game. We apperently are not sophisticated enough to understand such concepts as "Prologue" or the WRC for that matter.:banghead:

SCE only intended GT4P to be a limited run with only a couple of hundred thousand copies made, they didn't wan't everyone buying it even if it would've been profitable in the US and Europe, I personally know I wouldn't spend £20 on a glorified demo.

Just look at Japan's daily sales and you see just how many people are willing to spend on a "glorified demo".

That was one of the main reasons I bought Prologue, because it was meant to be a limited release.

Well. They are not willing to stop the development of GT4 to translate it to English because there are time restrictions. How long does it take to translate anyway? Its only a demo. If you want it so bad, but dont want to get a modchip and void your PS2 warrenty, get a SlideCard. ;)

Lazy? More like completely clueless.

I've had the opportunity to do business with SCEA here in NorCal.
SCEA is a sales office (a very nice sales office) that develops NOTHING. They do after release "testing" to ID bugs for the 900# pay to call help line. I visited them during the GT2 machine test bug (losing garage fault) and they had no idea of the impact of losing all the cars you had bought and tuned.

How cool would it be if they offered a line of "import games" officially? No software changes, just a booklet with some translations?

They are essentially morons with no idea of their customers desires.

I agree. They have some whopping morons working for them, and not just their PS division either.

Call 1-800-345-SONY and ask them any question about games or new featuers Sony have for the PS2. They wont have a clue. I once asked them how to switch my DVD driver to play with a widescreen format for my new HDTV set about two years ago. They couldn't tell me! I called four or five different times, and they hung up on me the last time because they had a computer record that I had called before with the same question. I never got the answer from them and ended up figuring it out for myself. You have to put in a DVD and let it load up. Then press stop until the screen goes black, then you can change the setting. Stupid!

What will probably happen in the USA is that right before GT4 comes out (a few months prior), we will get a playable demo of the game in either one of those Playstation Jampacks or on the disc that comes with the PSM magazine... so no Prologue for us... In Korea everyone is buying the Chinese version, and because of the low availability, pirate copies abound... If SCE made more copies in other languages they would sell more to more people. Yep, they are all morons...

You're probably right Hyundai Racer, but I think the US GT4 demo will be a demo, not the glorified demo the Prologue is. I can see like 3 cars and 1 track on this US GT4 demo...so in my opinion having around 40 cars and 5 tracks is worth $30. Especially since we won't be able to play the full version until mid 2004.

I wish that SCEA would bring a combo package of the last version of GTC and GT4P here in the US just few months before GT4 comes out. But that will not happan, but hey, we could always dream.
