Has anyone tested if the arcade mode physics are the same as GT mode?

I searched and found a couple of old posts saying they were similar but I was just wondering if anyone's ever extensively tested to confirm it.

Thanks

Certainly seem identical to me. In fact, I have no idea why arcade mode is called that. If anything, it has much closer racing and is more "realistic" in that sense than the "catch me if you can" BS in A-spec.

Thanks for the replies.

'Professional' difficulty and level 10 AI temperament certainly provides a very different racing experience to the usual A-spec events! I suspect there's a fair degree of slow-car-boosting in Arcade mode though.

Nope there's no boosting if there was we would have a great game..

We need more Arcade options... I'd like to see an ability to choose your opposition (what car each opponent drives) and a better class system - When you're in a Rally car, I'd want to race against other rally cars, not that HPA Audi TT or Blitz Skyline, Etc. Also, I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not, but I only get the Automatic/Manual Transmission option, no lap count, Fuel/Tire Wear, Traction Control, ABS, Etc. settings before entering the track in arcade mode. To change these settings pre-entry, I either need to change the laps by selecting the lap count in the options menu at the GT homepage, or by going to Split Screen, selecting the lap count and other options after selecting my car, and then going back to Single Player section, and the options will be to where I had set them. I just want 100% options and controllability over EVERY possible function and variable - this would give the game practically infinite variability and difficulty levels for races, and would please the community looking for EXTREMELY hard challenges.

If these changes were added in a "Spec III" disk or something of the sort, it could really help people without an internet connection - they'd get most of or more options than what we've got when we're online now, so they would have a much more exciting game to play. Without any internet connection, they don't get seasonal events, which have been some of the most challenging events in the game so far. (Also no Online Car Dealership and DLC excluding what packs are included with the disk.)

I have experienced this, but only on "Easy"; when selecting other modes, everything shows up.

in the end arcade mode in gt6 should really represent what its title says.

a bit of offtopic here but maybe someone knows the answer:
Is the GT5 disc used on demonstrations different than ours? Do they really use the very poorly implemented current arcade mode which has about 40 cars, not every track out of the box and very limited options?
That's simply not suitable for that, especially for offline competitions.

All those settings should be available when starting an Arcade race. Not sure why you wouldn't be getting them. You just can't change slipstream and boost.

Everyone but PD wants to choose the AI cars. Ideally also to adjust PP somehow to so you can race the same cars as the AI. Using ballast or limiter(before loading) seems the only way to change the field at all. It can be hard to get a good race in for example a GT car since there's quite a gap to the better race cars and the AI seems to match your tires.

Boost is on at Intermediate level, at least for the AI(they also race like 3 year olds). I was able to build and hold a 10+ second lead on Pro but don't know if that was from the level or because the race was long enough for pit stops(which boost would ruin).
