Are the server problems really fixed ?

Ok, supposed to run round 2 of our series tonight, had a good practice last night without issue, today all I get is slow loading screens, and a connection error with ID 1:6399.

Can someone please tell PD they need to upgrade from using string for their network.

Edit, just reset everything, can get onto psn store, tried gt5 again and now I'm getting ID number 2:519

Did a network test for playstation and have Nat 2, 3.0 download, 576 upload and upnp available whatever that is.

Never had this issue before, buggered if I know.

In a room of 16 drifters last night, had 2 guys who couldn't see each-other, was disappointing to still see :/
 
Yesterday got disconected from server with no reason , my internet connection was perfect , suddenly poof and i'm out...
 
Yesterday i was in a public room with 14 drivers, then in the middle of a race 13 of the drivers got DC !!! And it was not a fixed room...

But have not seen the black screen issue, since PD said the servers where back to normal
 
I did also black screen and crash joining a room two times in a row on Friday

Something similar happened to me yesterday, during a photoshoot with 12 friends 4 suddenly got disconnected in less than 2 seconds. The other 8 and me (the host) could stay without a problem though. Not sure if it was a connection drop I had or a server issue though.

I got no black screens since their fix announcement either, but friends still get them now and then.
 
Last few days the online was fine.
But today i always got this silly message couldn't connect to server.
The menus are also extremely slow. And the best thing is, my bobs are all out there in the cyber world so I couldn't get them back home to do some b-specing for me.

Better catch more fresh air outside then... See you tomorrow PD
 
Don't take for granted that you have a good home network connection, check to make sure.
WIFI connected PS3's will always suffer connection problems.
Upgrade to CAT6 cables and place ferrite chokes on the power cable as well as the network cable.
Do you have the latest firmware installed on the router in use?
Make sure you have a NAT2 or better connection.
UPNP= Universal Plug and Play, Gives the PS3 the ability to make the configurations needed for a quality hookup to the Gaming Servers.
The PS3 is compatable with 10/100/1000 Gigabit equipment.
If you still have 10/100 or less network equipment then look into upgrading.
 
Starting to get the black screen and Gran Turismo 5 in the corner.. >.<

If you are suggesting its my connection, its not. I understand that all connections can suffer problems at some stage, but mine has been largely fine till last night.

As for my connection, i have NAT 2, between 2.5 -3 download, 576 upload and upnp available. (all according to the ps3 test)

I was on the night before without issue, and generally dont have any problems opening and staying in room.

This issue would suggest to me that there is still something broken at the PD end. Guess we will never know though, as a GT player and fan, we need thick skin, the patience of a saint and a crystal ball that works 24/7 because their PR department is about as useful as doing an enduro round the ring in the kubelwagen.

VERY FRUSTRATING.

im happy to see im not alone, i have really slow menu, cant connect to lobby online, dont even get the boost % of race win and exp and cant reach the online car dealership. Wish that PD will resolve this fast. Dont says is my connection every other game work fine on my ps3 and i have NAT 2.
 
I've been having similar problems staying connected since Friday, although Saturday was not bad, today was torture. Disconnects. black screen, you name it. My connection is Nat 2 & everything is fine according to connection test & i'm wired. Hope they fix this soon because it sure is a black mark for PD.

The room was buttery smooth, no one dropped out. It was excellent. Really glad they did whatever they did. I still have problems with the black screen freeze of death when joining track myself, but don't know what that's about.

Not just you what about the other connections into the same server.
You might have a good connection but another gamer in the same lobby might have a problem.
People make the mistake that just their PS3 has to sync with server, well all the PS3's connecting need to sync together the server is just the gathering point for the players.
So in general every person is responsible for a good connection for the server to operate properly.
Have you checked your connection for packet loss?
What about a ping test?
Is the PS3 the only piece of equipment you run the test from?
Are you sure the other racers connected have a quality connection to the same server?
Is the ISP connection to your home properly secure with clean connections?
Are you running a dedicated Modem with seperate Router?
If so is all the firmware upto date?
These are just a small list of examples of what goes on in a network, home or office.
But if your sure you know it's PD's fault then call them and tell them you know how to fix it!

I have played since release with no real issues, the occasional dropout, and the same problems as everyone else when there has been a clearly identified issue by PD. I played on saturday night for 4 hours and had no issues. Its not an issue with guys in the room because i cant get into the game far enough for that to be the problem. Anyway, its the same group of 11 or 12 guys that we race with every week without issue (generally)

Nothing has changed at home with my network. If i start the game off line, no problem. As soon as i go online, i can go to the ps store, see all on my friend list, but the game wont load. I tried a few others last night, f12012 and battlefield and they were fine.

There was a small update for the ps store that i updated thinking that it might be causing a network glitch, and one of the other guys had issues getting in last night as well, but he did eventually get in.

It has to be an issue at PDs end........will try again tonight and see what happens.

You are missing the point I'm putting out so like I said your so sure it's PD so you should call them and tell them you alone know it's their problem because your network is fine.
C'mod you realy can't be this dumb when is comes to connections.
I don't have these issues unless a person joining has a connection problem entering a room I'm hosting with friends that have proper networking skills and have upgraded their equipment.
You need to think outside of your BOX and look at the issue as a whole!
You ever heard the saying one bad apple spoils the bunch? Well the same applies to online gaming and not every player plays F2012 or BF3 so don't use those as a comparison.
 
Well i play battlefield too and no problem but on gt5 i got lot of troublem that i had never before
 
Right now I'm hosting a room on PD servers with no problems "Racecars no Prototype" join and see if you still have an issue. We all use upgraded equipment.

Mate, i cant get even get into the game to join a room !!!!

Forget about my connection conflicting with somebody else's, when it finally loads to the home screen it says "cant find server ID 1:6399 or 2:519

Never had this issue before. Would try to join you but im at work !!

Will test it again tonight.
 
Because the only game i got problem is gt5. The game i play online are borderland, bf3, uncharted 3, black ops, nfs hot pursuit and no problem at all on those game
 
I had no server trouble at all today. My only trouble was the fact that I had that no sound glitch. It has not happened in days, but I guess it being the weekend and me being on longer caused it. It's becoming less common which is a good thing.
 
Just a little info for people getting black screens.

1. This is absolutely NOT a server problem. (it was happening before the update and got maybe worse after the update.

AT THE START OF THE RACE

2. Here's a tip. If you are in a room and everyone gets a black screen. One of you has a black screen with a GT5 logo in the bottom right corner of your screen. Whoever has that is the person holding the room up. That person needs to either sign off PSN/eject disc/quit GT5/turn off their ps3 then come back.

Trust me if the person that has backs out the race will immediately start.

Also for the black screen coming out of the pits in free roam.
When you click enter course wait and just be patient for your car to load to where you can see it in the pits. Wait a couple seconds after it does and then click drive. If you rush the car before it loads in the pits you are just impatient and you deserve the black screen. Not that hard to wait 5 seconds so the car can load.
 
I dont have black screen problem. The problem is that the menu are really slow to load and when i try to get to lobby i get à server is not available at this moment please try later. U got this message for 2 days now and when i try offline the menu are à lot faster
 
I dont get the black screen thing happening very often, maybe once every few months....maybe longer. could count them on one hand over the life of the game.

And Toyzri, dont call me stupid mate, i dont give a crap what "skills" you say you have, but when you play a game for as long as i have, then all of a sudden it stops working when nothing has changed at my end then the logical thought would be that it might be at the other end where there have been lots of documented problems.

For your sake i hope you dont run into any issues, or all the "skills and upgraded equipment" you have are worthless !

Also maybe the fact that the "other" games that have dedicated servers dont have the same issues might be a good thing for PD to look at ? Wouldnt you think ??
 
I just try again and take like 2-3 min just to enter gt mode and after i try to get in lobby mide and says connection impossible this function cant be use
