Are you skipping other racing games because of GT5?

I'm not going to buy ... just because of GT5

I want to get F1 2010,but GT5 will consume all my spare time,so forking out top dollar for a game i wont have time to play is ridiculous :-) I`ll wait until GT5 begins to lose it`s edge with me and then i`ll look into another racing game. But by that time another F1 game could be out and i`ll get that instead or just pick up F1 2010 from ebay for $20 :-)

I'm not going to buy any of these games because videogames are *censored* expensive in Brazil and i only have "enough" money to buy GT5
 
While I'm mildly interested in the Ferrari game, I already have Ferrari Challenge, and it's too much like Forza to really get into. And like Forza, the bots are idiots.

I might be interested in whatever Simbin is doing with GTR... maybe. But all my PC sims bore me compared to Prologue, and even GT4. Prologue feels like a racing sim, and the Time Trial demo gave me a tantalizing taste of what GT5 is going to be like, and I have a heck of a lot more cars to play with in Gran Turismo.

So, I'm going to vote with my dollars on one game for a good long while.

Besides skipping F1 2010 I am also skipping: Fallout, MoH, CoD, NFS. From the savings of this I bought myself a G27.

Damn I forgot all about Fallout New Vegas!!

I may have to buy that, but I won't get anything else. Cod can die in a fire.
 
I've bought F1 and will definetely buy WRC, NFS HP3 and TDU2, of course.

Variety is always good, and honestly, I always thought GT5 would deliver the best weather experience, now PD must beat F1 first, because my God, those rain effects are impressive.

GT was always the king to me, but that doesn't mean I must completely forget about other racing games, NFS and TDU 2 will deliver much different experiences and will worth the time and effort put into playing them.
 
  • WRC 2010 - Pre-ordered, should be with me Wednesday or Thursday. I'm a big WRC fan but I can't help but feel that GT5 has all the bases covered with the course creator and the variations with weather and different times of day that you can use. It'll be easy enough to combine those with the different location themes to crete a WRC game.
  • F1 2010 - Already got it but it's so broken in places I'm not going to carry on until Codemasters decide to finish the game.
  • Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit - I'm a big fan of Burnout Paradise but I'm not quite sold on this yet, see how it goes.
  • Ferrari The Race Experience - System 3's previous driving games have been OK but nothing special so I probably won't bother.
  • Nascar 2011 - It's NASCAR and it's Eutechnyx, I'm not really interested in either but I'm not going to rule it out until I know more about the quality of the game.

In all honesty, F1 2010 & WRC 2010 were bought primarily so that I can get used to my new G27 by the time Gran Turismo 5 is released.
 
I'm skipping out on all of them except for F1 2010. F1 is keeping me occupied and sane until November 2nd, then it goes to collect dust, lol. F1 does have its bugs, but overall, it's still a good, fun game. It's getting me used to my new G27! :D
 
I am skipping them all and getting rid of Forza 3. GT5 will be in my PS3 for a very long time. Considering ordering another console in case I need to play something else. I don't want to risk taking it out cause I might not see it again for years....
 
WRC 2010 - Tried the demo, little lacklustre, but may pick up if cheap.
F1 2010 - Don't care about F1 enough to play a game based on it.
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit - Potentially still getting since it's not a Sim.
Ferrari The Race Experience - Little interest in Ferrari, not enough to buy a game.
Nascar 2011 - Activision published, couldn't buy even if I wanted it.
 
Nope, im skipping F1 and WRC and Nascar because i dont care much for them. Plus i already played Ferrari Challenge.
Il be playing NFS Hot Pursuit and Test Drive Unlimited 2 when comes out.
 
Games I won't buy are WRC 2010 F1 2010 The Ferrari Race Experience (I have both the other games in the series on the PS3)
Nascar 11 (never really been a fan)
TDU 2 I'm undecided on, there were content issues between 360 and PS2 versions of TDU so I don't know if they will carry over into the second one.

People fasting themselves of good racing games because GT5 will be the feast of the gods, and will be so good that you won't need to bother with anything else, just GT5. GT5's not a religion, it's just a game. A really awesome game, of course, but not awesome to the point that no other game is worth it.

If you know yourself well enough to know that you are not going to play anytihing else since GT5 is in your PS3 why spend money on other games then...

Eh...IDK, I'm thinking of NFS HP and now thinking of it, WRC 2010 and maybe NASCAR 2010.

Sure GT5 will be huge, but it won't have EVERYTHING.

I would like some nice police chase action along with racing in circuits too.

If PD could create a game so huge, that it expanded over EVERY race type (even demolition derby with buses :D), provide action, like police chases, and also have free roam...I think we wouldn't need another game for a few years.

But, we have limited technology. Maybe in a few years, but currently, it's one game for this, one for that, etc. (mostly).

GT5 will never be enough for car enthusiasts who love everything car-related, like me :P.

A few have mentioned bugs in F1 2010. Whats exactly wrong with it? I would like to pick it up sometime in the future,but not if it is bad. I`ll just have to stick to F1CE if it doesn`t get a good reputation :grumpy:
 
If only NFS:HP came out early september...that wouldve been the perfect game to tie most people over until GT5. Not sure what they were thinking releasing it the same mont has GT5...
 
I want to get Hot Pursuit III and TDU 2, but financial reasons pertaining to the GT5 CE are going to prevent that from occurring until probably a couple of weeks before Christmas. Especially now that I have to throw money at fixing my PS3.


I have no interest in the other games in the poll, though (which ironically means I did the poll incorrectly).

Going wait and see what the reviews for Hot Pursuit III are like before I throw my hard earned cash at it.

I know that some people may scoff at the fact that GT5 doesn't do "everything" and that it's petty to miss out on other games as a race fan. However, as huge fan of Forza 3, these kinds of games give more more than enough petrol-head action, and GT5, by all accounts, is going to be huge.

I'm also the kind of gamer who doesn't like to play more than one of the same genre of game at any point in time, so if any of the above did interest me, I'd just leave them until I'd had my fill of GT5. Somehow, I suspect that's not going to be for a very long time!

i'm skipping every game not just racing games cuz of gt5, and i don't care
there's enough of time to play them later
 
I drive a racing line in real life. I live on the outskirts of a 20k city, I often have both lanes to myself. All of the turns in my neighborhood are dialed. (I will never buy an automatic, unless it says Cadillac).
 
I voted for other games as in any games. GT5 is a month away, so there is no need for any other racing game for me. GT5 is a game where for me, it will have everything in one...:-)
I'm happy to prologue for one more month.
