I'm not going to buy ... just because of GT5

No I won't buy those games because I'm broke and they would just sit on the shelf. By the time I'm done GT5 new versions of those games will be released and said games will be cheaper and at pawn shops.

20 years of playing games, believe me I know, those game won't sell more than 1 million copies and 90% of those people will stop playing them within 6 months, and yes they will be botched for the most part, that's how the industry of bad games rolls.
20 years of assumption, you mean. Until these games release, you have no more clue than I of how they will turn out.

But, judging by EA's past & the rather large anticipation for this game, I'm guessing Hot Pursuit will sell well over 1,000,000 copies since the last 14 EA titles sold over 100,000,000, the majority from the era Hot Pursuit is creating again.

So, let's not state how future games will sell based on 20 years of incorrect information.

One thing that's interesting about NASCAR 2011:

We’ve created an intuitive and powerful styling area for the players. Many games feature the ability to create and edit paint schemes, but NASCAR The Game 2011 offers complete creative freedom.

No more ‘sides’, with proprietary 3D surface technology players can drag and drop decals anywhere on their car, and orbit around the car whilst applying and manipulating their own graphics. Players can therefore create and customize their own masterpieces with speed and ease.
This is just what I was speculating about with GT5's Livery Editor a few weeks ago. While I'm not interested in a pure NASCAR racer, this would be sweet to play with.

I'll probably get GT5:P just to keep me busy and so I can get used to the Driving Force GT.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit if it's any good is a yes since I loved Hot Pursuit 2, and it'd be a nice change of pace from a simulator to a arcade.

I'm really not gonna get any games after Gran Turismo 5 since to be perfectly honest, there are no new games that really have my attention. The ones that do are being released in 2011.

GT5 will be the last game I buy for a long, long time.

Same here. I think this will probably be the last videogame that I'll invest a lot of time into. At least until GT6 anyways

I have the glass half-full with a pristine copy of F1:CE that I barely had time to play with since I bought it last year. People I trust tell me that if I want to have a go at F1 gaming I'd better start with that one, because 2010 isn't THAT better. So, I'll pass for the time being.
Well, to be fair you would be better off starting with F1:CE because you already have a copy. For people who like F1, like racing games, have the glass half-full attitude, and are looking for their only F1 game, F1 2010 is probably the one to start with because most people I trust say it IS better, just not by as much as you might think or want.

I'm not going to buy (for now) F1 2010, NFS Hot Pursuit and Test Drive Unlimited 2 because of GT5. I want this one before other games.

And I think I'll be busy with GT5 to think on other racing games :dopey:

I should have precise, less than 1 million within the first month in NA, I have no worldwide reference.

Anything with less than 100 cars and 30 tracks is easily a botched job, wich is the case for all those games. This is not the 90's anymore, every racing game should be compared to what the industry has the best to offer, you cannot release Hot Pursuit 2 with the same amount of content as the original one, let's see how the next one turns out. GT raised the bar, Forza is doing a decent job, others are cashing in with cheap product, that's why there is so much piracy. Am I supposed to pay 60$ for a Hyundai when others sell me a S-class Mercedes for the same price. Yes, I am assuming, based on experience, if you rather be delusional, based on faith, that's your loss, keep rocking in the free world!

PS. By the way, you used the NFS franchise sale numbers to "assume" that it will sell more than a million.

Well, I'm not buying any of the games in that list, but not because of GT5. None of those games are... interesting or unique enough. Besides GT5 has everything ('cept the police chases of NFS: Hot Pursuit) they have and more. Its got rally on randomly generated tracks which will last forever. Its got F1's in some form so thats not needed elsewhere. As for Nascar, that is most definitely in it. AND Ferraris are in it too. GT5 will make all other racing games obsolete, but not Forza, as Xboxers need a racing sim.

Usually I would jump at the chance of buying an F1 game seeing as though it's been a while since the last one. But I know that in a months time I won't be playing it because of GT5!

I don't know how many F1's GT5 will have this time, but if it has a good amount then I won't even bother to buy the next F1. For me, since GT3, most racing games seem so short, repetitive, or don't provide enough difficulty(aside form F1). So unless NFS makes a serious change, GT5 will most definitely keep me occupied for the next 3+ years.

The only other game i am planning on buying after gt5 comes out is LBP2 and that is so my wife and i can play it together. I will buy the need for speed HP sometime after i finish gt5.

Yes, because I wouldn't play any other racing game if I had GT5.
What's the point of playing NfS if you have a game 10 times better? And that counts for all other games.

What GT delivers is totaly enough for me.

I'll be getting GT5 AND Hot Pursuit 3. I don't see hot pursuit 3 as the same type of game as gt5 though. GT5 is for some serious racing whereas Hot pursuit is just for fun. Police chases and all that. I won't be buying NFS straight away anyway, maybe during christmas or probably even later.
I'll have the new pes, cod and gt5 to deal with until then. I won't have enough money or time to buy all in one go and play them.

I'm playing F1 2010 a good bit at the moment. I'm using it as something cool to bridge the gap the GT5. I can't see myself playing it again once I get my hands on GT though.

Well F1 2010 I have already, and I like it. Even if GT5 didn't come out this year, the games on your poll don't really interest me.

I really would like to get F1 2010,but if I did,I know what will happen. When GT5 comes out,F1 2010 would get shelved and forgotten about. I don't know,we'll see.💡

After 15 years of gaming, I've lost my interest in most games. I've become very very critically, only the best of the best games still interest me. I've played games from the Test Drive Unlimited and Need For Speed series, and I enjoyed most of them back then, but those succesors like Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 just don't interest me anymore. If I watch trailers and screenshots of these games, it does nothing to me, I have absolutly no desire to play any of those. And this applies to every genre of course, not just racegames.

Only a very very few games still interest me, games of the highest quality, like Gran Turismo 5, Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. The best of the best in their genre. Or very original and inventive games like Little Big Planet. Those are the kind of games that still make me want to play them after seeing a trailer or some screenshots. 99% of the rest of the games, not anymore. A bit sad really...

That's why I'm skipping all other racegames, nothing comes even close to GT5. I would perhaps consider to buy F1 2010 (I always enjoyed Codemasters racegames), but only if GT5 was still months away.

I feel the same way but I don't see what is sad about it. I'm glad I don't feel the need to spend money and time on every new game title anymore. When I look at my game collection, I regret having bought 70% of them because they were just decent fillers between the games that stand out in my memory.

I've left the last line in because that's your opinion and that's fine, but if a game is conceptually different, why worry if something different to it is better? It's not like it's an inferior copy and in doing so got it wrong.

That's true. So many games I've bought that only lasted a few weeks or even days at most. On the other hand (the sad part), is that the amount of games that still interest me have dramatically dropped. :)

I just don't get how it's sad unless you really want to like those series you used to appreciate. As I said, be glad that you have learned to sort out your ultimate preferences over the years. I would think it would be sad if I after 13 years of gaming still felt tempted to play the amount of games I used to pick up.

Agreed, I guess it's all a part of growing up. Some of us don't find the need to buy a gaming title every year. It also emphasizes how wide of an audience Gran Turismo reaches out to.

Again, GT will have me set for the next 3+ years.

Im playing through F1 2010 at the moment, but once GT5 is here I might aswell trade all my games in. :indiff:

Im at home waiting for my new cockpit to rock up actually. Cant wait :nervous:
