Just listen to that V8! This gorgeous German Cobra predates Carroll Shelby's creation by 4 years.

*update* tweaks to suspension and LSD. Better traction, stability and turn in. Less stiff front. Now works with sport softs.

Thanks partner, yet another GR8 tune!! This old car is quite suprising and a wonderful addition to anyone's garage. For 500 - 510pp racing it will surprise alot of racers and will have them heading to the Beemer dealership to snag one :-). At High Speed Ring after only 3 laps, no aids other than ABS at 1 this sweetie turned a 107.22. most respectable for an older street car IMHO. Thanks again buddy :-)

Thanks again! If you want to really f##k with people, try the Honda 1300 coupe. It can do sub 8min nurburgring laps on SS tires!

Better on sport softs than racing tires.

Thanks again partner :-) This little hot rod using YOUR street tune is indeed a sleeper. As you say in your opening comment - "i791cc!? How fast could it possibly be?" is sneeky fast,, it will make a racer used to driving cars in the mini Red Bull category set up and say - "Ohh MY!,, why didn't I take a second look at this vintage speedster!" I set it up exactly per your notes, took a couple tire warm up laps then hustled the little roadster around High Speed Ring to a 1:17.21. Not bad! Not bad at all :-). Any of you drivers out there who may be looking for a really fun 425 - 450pp hot rod simply MUST buy it, punch our friend Fedrautha's numbers into the spec sheet and take this little roadster for a ride. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Typically smooth and consistent rotary powerband. Looks straight out of The Jetsons, which is appropriate. If you have ever driven a rotary IRL, you know that they definitely have a cool "spaceship" vibe to them.

I have included transmission settings for the car with and without turbo. Normally I would be all for adding the big turbo, but in this case I really feel like it spoils the character of the engine a bit.

Nismo GT-R LM Road Going Version '95

First car I have done with serious aero to consider. Still trying to wrap my head around aero, so any feedback would be much appreciated.

*update* several changes to make car more driveable. Big thanks to Ksquad for testing the car and providing feedback, helped improve the car dramatically!

Now comes in 2 grades: Nuclear and slightly less destructive Thermalbaric.

Why, oh why, PDI? The only Altezza in the game with a 2jz in it, and you can't put a ****ing turbo on it. :banghead:

I'll grind out some credits and give it a whirl and let you know how she feels to me.

In my (albeit fairly limited) experience tuning with aero, for my driving style (fast turn-in, good rotation and slight oversteer on exit) I've found it works best to have front downforce on it's max setting for maximum front grip and then to only use as much rear downforce as you need to keep the rear-end of the car planted without too much corner exit oversteer.

I've read a post on GTP somewhere that was mentioning downforce coming more into effect the faster you go so in some circumstances it seems it depends on the track as to what downforce setting to use. On the 'ring in a downforce car once I have found my handling sweetspot I try to reduce downforce as much as possible to maximize top speed on the straights but when you drop downforce make sure you do it in sync. Just make sure that once you have your downforce dialed in handling wise when reducing downforce for higher speed tracks that you lower both the front and the rear by the same amount or else you might throw off the handling you are expecting from the car.

Thanks! My biggest thing that I'm struggling to understand are how it affects damper settings. I'm tweaking those and diff settings as we speak.

If my understanding is correct the faster the car is going the more downforce there would be and thus the more weight is going to press down on the car. I would guess that from a tuning perspective maybe you could look at tuning downforce as you would tune for a heavy car on a fast sweeping corners like at the 'ring?

Just took your GT-R out for a spin and on a few different tracks and unfortunately I must report that with my driving style and ability and that power level I ran into some fairly major issues with understeer in corners both fast and slow. I tried to correct the understeer with some throttle and/or some e-brake but with the power this high and me only having a DS3 I found I just couldn't be delicate enough on the power delivery not to spin out repeatedly.

Is there a different way of driving it I should try?

The car has some traction and understeer issues that i suspect are related (in part) to my lack of understanding of the dampers. I am working on a fix and should have it up in a little while. That amount of power, delivered in that fashion is always going to be challenging traction-wise, I think. Years and years of classical guitar training have given me very sensitive fingertips, so I proabably have an easier time with it than most. I wish i had a more useful or explicit way to explain other then try to drive smoothly. See how it is once i change it here in a few.

Actually, it might help to have a second opinion on track with me, if you feel like hopping online. Let me know.

Feels a little bit like the Autobianchi to drive. Which is not surprising, since the Autobianchi was Italy's (much more stylish) answer to the Mini. I learned a few things doing this one that I might go back and try on the Autobianchi.

Love this car. A little loose at high speed, but good enough to take out the NatA Schwarz League and ib Tour of Europe.

Thanks!

You can try

C 3 5
E 5 1

For a more planted feel at high speeds, but it also has a bit more understeer. I will take a look at the springs later too, I think I might have calculated them wrong, and I think that that might be the way forwards rather than the dampers.

Cheers from GA to NZed:cheers:
