Assetto Corsa Competizione: First Console Gameplay Videos

Thanks alot for that, wasn't aware of those. Yeah i agree 100%, real simmer, not crappy full of it pr.. And same for their respective games.. Seems many can't tell the difference.

Only watched on cell but looks nice enough, certainly better cleaner than pc2 on std ps4.

For those that don’t know Aristotelis Vasilakos is Kunos vehicle dynamics specialist and puts out incredibly informative YouTube videos on the subject.

He’s gone through setups on almost every car and track, breaks them down setting by setting, corner by corner.

His videos have helped me and I’ve never seen a developer engage the community like he does. Even if you have no desire to scrub 10ths off your lap times I recommend you watch some. Good stuff!

The car's moving is pretty clear like PS1 games physics. PS2 games are even better than that if contolled with D-Pad. Or maybe the player on the video also uses X and Square as throttle and brake!? I can also say that the developer is lazy to optimize the game for consoles. But I'm still looking forward to the final game and updates.

It points to the pad controls being as bad as in the first game... small studio or not theyre never gonna grow a fan base or increase revenue without finessing the control set ups...

Lol pretty clear ps1 physics okkkk..
I admit that 3rd person video looks really bad but if we know Kunos you can't think that unless it be a mobile port.

Yes sir! Damn right. I remember him now.

Does anybody know, if there will be UDP-Datastream support and usb-keyboard support for a buttonbox?
This I would like to know , will the thrustmaster Led display be supported ? It never got support for the original Assetto Corsa.

Unreal Engine 4 is very memory intensive for current consoles and is hard to optimize for performance. The MotoGP games also use UE4 engine and runs at 30fps on Pro  .
MotoGP runs at 60fps on the Pro FYI. It switched to 60 last with the 19 release. Quite optimized this year for the 20 release. Took them 3 years though.

I'm still excited about it. I've wanted a GT3 Blancpain sim for a long time, so I'll gladly pick it up. It'll be a good compliment to pCARS, GT, etc etc. I still enjoy the driving in AC, so if this is more of that even prettier, I'm sure I'll love it.

Frame-rate test shows 30fps for MotoGP 2019 on Pro.

I believe the last 60fps MotoGP game on Pro was 2017, but they were still using their old in-house engine and had not made the switch to UE4 yet.

I don't know if this is real but there's a video allegedly showing Xbok gameplay un 4k Spa .. in the rain
Edit: removed link, it seems it's a fake

Interesting. Ah yeah, they went to 60 for Ride in 19. It's definitely 60 on MotoGP20 that just came out. Super smooth.

Perhaps the tester is bad, even using analog as a direction button. Kunos should've hired the right one. That's very bad first impression of a game that's coming within weeks. Let's see how the full game looks like at the time.

The horrible movements of the car are all that I could see, clearly entirely to do with using a controller. Totally agree that decent controller support is crucial, obviously for console, but for building the franchise in general as well. I doubt the low framerate would matter to me unless it is also choppy.

That said, if for some reason there is no T300RS support at launch, there would be no reason for me to have the game at launch.

I'm a bit confused as to why they didn't add a "performance" option to the PS4 pro to run 60 frames at 1080 rather than 30 at 1800.. Nearly all games give you that high speed low res option on the pro these days. Maybe they will patch that in. No reason the pro can't do it, resolution for resolution it is twice as fast as the OG PS4. Anyway I did expect 30 on the og PS4 and that's fine. Stunt Car Racer on the Amiga only runs at like 15 frames and it's still a better game than half the PC sims ever made.

I also dont know why they didnt add a performance option on the pro, maybe once its been released they might do,they updated motogp 19 with a 60fps update in july 2019
.Off topic but anyway,i remember stunt car racer with its wireframe graphics,it even appeared on the C64 befroe the amiga. Many happy hours, showing my age now.lol

Interesting video.

Saved game menu option :) And the controller configuration was pretty extensive.

It's getting better I think.

From the comments:

Lenkrad-Support gibt's natürlich auch, alle kompatibelen Lenkräder der jeweiligen Konsole werden unterstützt.
=

All compatible wheels for the specific console are supported.

The video showed the circuit of Zolder :)

ACC is made for moden gaming PC something like i7 9700k / 16GB RAM / 2070 rtx

So how a 2013 PS4 can cope with that monstrous requirements ?

With the same technique they have improved stability in high en pc's after 1 year and have improved results with older pc's.

With optimization.

Interesting indeed, the game will be getting sold straight away if it doesnt work with my t150.

No reason why it shouldn't.

I think it looks okay really, about what I expected for what everyone knows is a very intensive game on the PC side being put onto a now 7 year old console generation... 1080p and 30fps is fine, its not 60 I know and other PS4 games do run at 60 or at least over 30, but I'm sure when it comes to the driving experience it will make up for some of the glossiness not being there.

Man I was sim racing on the racing-line.org web site was back in the early 2000s :) great days and we didn't even need online racing. I think we will get that 60fps option on the Pro with a 1080p or maybe even lower performance patch. If not I'm still happy they have put the game on console, it all but means a native ps5 version or a ps5 patch is coming also. So I'll just play it at 30 frames in the meantime. This generation consoles didn't have a lot of extra mojo on launch let alone 7 years later.

Anyway ACC doesn't NEED a high end machine.. This video here shows it running on a rx570 at 100 frames which isn't much different to the GPU in the PS4 PRO. So unless they really really struggled with the cpu I can't see why the PS4 PRO couldn't do 60 frames on this one at 1080p.
