Anyone can confirm they are seeing anything other then "INITIALISING PHYSICS SINGLE THREADED" in their log file?
LOGICAL CPU DETECTED: 4
INITIALISING PHYSICS THREAD POOL WITH 2 THREADS
Initialising threading with: 4 cores

@jac0 I do hope you are alright as I do not see you posting here anymore. I know you have problems with AC stutters and are using an Q3 + a link cable. I did today found this video, I do hope it can solve your AC stutter problems.

well I did try a usb-c ethernet adapter in my Quest3 and I was wrong about the "since i have a fast 6E wifi router , that ethernet device thingy will not improve much I reckon." .... it DOES improve alot !!

I now am able to enjoy almost stutter free driving , thanks to a 15 EURO device (i bought this one) !
O and I also recommand all to use "Riva Tuner Statistics Server" (RTSS) , to set a framelimit (not just in game and/or in VD)...
my 0.1% lows are almost 90fps as well when I use that!

To prove it is better , here a capture in CapframeX WITHOUT RTSS running:

Do any of you guys use the onhe openxr toolkit mod ? I've been using it and it really helps run AC and ACE in VR
I'll just post my settings just as an example and hopefully someone may get benefits from them

I've got a 9800x3d CPU and a RTX4090 GPU and am using a Pimax crystal lite

I set Pimax play to 85-90% render resolution and 90hz ( 72hz for ACE ) no smart smoothing .

Openxr settings,
Foveated rendering set to custom
Inner ring set to 40% ( full resolution) slightly flattened the ring .
Middle ring set to 1/4 resolution
Outer ring 85-90 % 1/16 resolution ( this is basically the edge of the "sweet spot" on the crystal lite which is blurry anyway )

Crop settings
100% left and right ( so no horizontal cropping)
65% crop on the top
95% crop on the bottom.

These settings work for me , even in AC EVO ,
Hope it gives someone a starting point to fine tune for them

Obviously the crystal lite is a wired display port connection so may not work for streaming headsets
Cheers

Link is not working on Amazon.nl app, could you please publish the brandname with typo, maybe a photo. Or if that is not possible pointing this out in the Tweakers.net price watch at https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/

Do you need all this for AC? I also run a Pimax Crystal Light and a 5080, which should be pretty similar to the 4090 in terms of performance, and I just use Quadviews in Pimax Play, and then run everything else pretty much maxed out at 90Hz and 100% resolution. If anything starts to bog, I enable a bit of upscaling.

But running Pimax Play at 100% resolution is essential - all scaling is better done with either AC or OpenXR toolkit.

And Pimax Quadviews is a very good way to boost performance. Much better, I think, than the FFR in OpenXR toolkit.

Also, using 72Hz is a nice trick for more slow paced games like ETS2, MSFS etc., but for AC, I think it's better to go for 90Hz with more upscaling instead.

As far as I'm aware AC1 doesn't support quad views , I thought it had to be supported in the game engine?
I only posted that message for anyone to try out if they are having issues.
I've tried the upscaling options but don't like the ghosting and trails
And like I said I use 90hz for AC1 and 72hz for ACE EVO
There's very little difference I can see between 90 and 100% render resolution and when using a 30 car grid of GT3 mod cars from RSS and URD it hammers my system some what so I drop down to 90% render resolution to help out

Has anyone here tried that?

Looks amazing to have the hands act real.

Yeah I saw that video , looks cool but is the cut out to see your real hands and wheel just a 2d imagine?
Might look a bit odd if the rest of the car is 3d but your hands and wheel are 2d .
Cool idea tho

And it is only available for apple vision pro, very expensive, but I see it it as a glimpse into the future.
The concept is amazing.

Could it be that it’s not Apple exclusive, because I remember something similar at the DCS forum a couple of years ago.
Yeah your headset will need to have good pass through cameras too
The pass through on my Pimax is woeful and would not be able to do this ( not any other Pimax headset for that matter)
Maybe quest 3 would be able to do it .
VR still has a ways to go yet before these options become viable itm

On Overtake there is a debate going on about the X3D CPU included a couple of test series from YT.
https://www.overtake.gg/news/compar...or-sim-racing.4622/?page=2#ams-comment-144357
But lets be fair if running AC no need for something so expensive. Only if you only want to run very bad optimized mods like some converted tracks from Rainmaker or Tours1923 from HSS then it could be helpful. My old binned i9-9900Ks can easily handle AC in VR, with no overclocking.

Still wanting to upgrade and on the budget look at my thoughts about Intel Socket 1700/DDR4 at:
https://www.overtake.gg/threads/news-on-intels-socket-1700-ddr4.296445/
Think it is for right now, a more budget friendly alternative then the rather expensive 5800X3D route.

Are you sure Steam is not hidden at the background? Because if I do well remember AC, Oasis and SteamVR do need Steam. Please open Windows task manager to check this, as my mancave is been transferred to a baking oven. If not active while running AC/SteamVR/Oasis, it would be a great finding. As I’m a fanatic follower of the LEAN religion.

In my case Steam starts only when I do open Content manager.
Then I do check if anything is needs to be updated, if not then I use the right upper corner “x” to close the Steam screen.
After that I do start up SteamVR manually, because it’s usually give me a sign that Oasis is not on par with SteamVR. In this case I have to adjust a setting in SteamVR and restart it.
During the AC game everything from Steam, like a couple of “Steam helper” processes are limited to Idle. Only steamVR functionality is on priority normal.

Edit: Apologies, I goofed, Steam is running. Just not obviously.
As you were, people.
The struggle continues.

I have never opened Steam to play AC using CM and i never see it while playing.
I have always had "run steam on startup" disabled and if i forget to open Steam VR (separate tab on taskbar) when i press drive in game it usually catches up while loading race. Sometimes loading is quicker, it then runs as monitor and i have to reload.
I do think Steam is still running in the background according to task manager.
Also, doesn't CM automatically start Steam?

But what is it?
I believe it allows quality upscalers which up to now have been unavailable to AC in VR. I downloaded it but my pc refused to let it run.
For years now i have not been able to improve on AMD FSR old port with CMAA 2.0 with 4x MSAA. Works great for me at high resolution. Unless I'm missing something.

But what is it?
It allows you to use DLSS and DLAA in AC VR plus adds sharpening.
I tried the Deep Learning Anti Aliasing as a replacement for the anti-aliasing solutions (MSAA and CMAA) I currently use as it should be an improvement but the timings are all over the place. I went from a couple of tenths of a millisecond variance to a couple of milliseconds of variance between frame timings.

DLSS/DLAA implementation for Assetto Corsa in VR

Unlike X4fab DLSS/DLAA is only working on monitor, this seems to be developed for working in VR.
I have to test it by myself as it seems some settings in CM have to be changed, yep, could be the same disappointment as the Snowymoons method.

Guess it’s now time that the group around @X4fab or @ilya will now introduce a proper DLAA/DLSS5 for VR in the CM/CSP.
Yep I do hope for the last DLSS5, as it can never be worser with those stock & modded zombie faces from AC.
