Assetto Corsa PC Mods General DiscussionPC

[Scaff]

If it has nothing to do with AC & its modding community, then thats a red flag in the race. I just drive cars in games.

Now look, this isn't a ****posting or a off-topic thread, its a modding discussion thread. & yet i don't know how to port cars or make one myself. I only make skins for cars, mostly itashas.

& speaking of itashas, it looks like there isn't any new ones since i checked on RaceDepartment. All i see is just skins for the RSS Formula Hybrid 2021, which i do not have.

That’s for the staff to decide, and in this case your mini-modding has caused more off topic noise than the single post you took issue with.

If you think a post falls outside the AUP then report and the staff will decide, please don’t take it upon yourself to try and take action.

The revised is the same track and I have both. Revised is just a few cosmetics, billboards and added balloons. Texture mirroring issues are the same.

The balloons sure gives another touch to the tracks, but i wonder if theres tracks that has moving planes like jets? None of the tracks had planes flying above the cars...yet...if theres one.

As for the texture mirroring, yeah it looks awkward to look at it.

Thats why I did 2 options for Imola, REDU and FULL. REDU things aren't so obvious with mirroring.

Bruce Kelt's new bus + Transfargarasen with AI = "hang on a minute, lads, I've got an excellent idea"

Bruce Kelt has made a new bus? I can't find it, is it public yet?

I'm sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I mean, if you can (or are able to do), could be nice if you create an Imola offline version, editing track model to insert visual thing like arrows, maybe starting from the revised version that is already a good offline base and doesn’t conflict with the standard version (usable in online)

To paint the textures in at model level is a lot of work for just a few triangles. Especially when the ACC converted version will probably be out soon and nobody would use the revised version again. I'd rather wait and skin the new version.

Alright so with no real skinning experience I decided I wanted the '21 DTM grid in AC..... is there a way to add the full fledged carbon texture with the texture that comes from the normal map I think to the AMG GT3 2020 extension? I've finally gotten the logos I need and stuff for the skin I'm working on but instead of being black the back 75% of the car is supposed to be bare carbon but this cars base is a metallic black paint so I can't just leave the skin blank where I want carbon like I thought I could. Also is there a way to add in the ext.ini shiny-ness (I think it's called specular mapping or something like that)

Here's a preview so people maybe answer

Why is everyone still using the AMG GT3 2020 extension when Bonny made an amazing ACC version(no disrespect to the guys who made this one, but Bonny's version is easier and better). Only issue is the numberplate issue in showroom/preview. It isn't an issue in game. Car drives amazing. Link: https://mega.nz/file/8c1ynAgQ#-7wYL8MJtUVyyJ_WyxnMG5IhDvUTaiu3aykBHt6Vq6Y

I didn’t know about a imminent conversion of ACC Imola. In this case i agree with you that is better wait for it and maybe just convert your amazing skin for it. Where I can find any news about this conversion?

i'm looking for some sounds to fit the btcc cars posted on this thread that were possibly made by scam dream, specifically the v6 for the mondeo and the 5-pot for the volvo; what's the best match for those?

i can port the primera sound to the 4-pot runners as a "generic" sound

I'm not sure "everyone" is. I have both and really like them both.

[TaistoTurri]

I think we would need some kind of an online engine-sound library with some kind of a system that helps finding the most suitable engine sounds for different types of engines from different eras. There are lots of good sounds in AC but finding the most accurate one can be hard. I've been thinking about doing something like this myself but clearly I ain't a sound specialist enough for such task. Although I think sounds are crucial factor in sim racing, not as important as physics but at least as important as visuals...

PS. Again, how about that Mustang that was deleted for RD yesterday? Don't know if it's any good but I've got a thing for 80s and 90s ugly Mustang and would like to try it...

The issue that you mentioned is the reason I don't have it installed. I know it doesn't show in game, but I'm using my own previews for all cars and in this case I can't make them because of that. And the provided previews are also bad: double numberplates with or without numbers on it... looks pretty sloppy imo...
And this - other examples show it - where it is perfectly possible to provide a dummy preview KN5 that would solve the issue.

It's not sloppy, it's an CSP/CM issue. The mod gives you the option for different numberplates which you can use in game and hide the others via the "hide" option. CM preview doesn't use this utility. The mod itself is good(and we'll probably get an update soon). It is easier to use and instal than the Extention version, and a lot easier to make liviers for.

I really wish he(or someone else) could make a Routemaster London bus.

Which is why a 'dummy' preview KN5 can be provided. It replaces the original KN5 and is used to make perfect previews (and then also showroom is correct). To drive the car, the KN5 needs to be switched again.
I never said the mod is not good. I just don't have it installed because of the numberplate issue that you mentioned yourself.
I'll be happy if that's get corrected. In that case I also hope that the RaceLogic timer can be placed a bit higher on the dash. No issue for VR users but in the correct driving position I don't get to see it on my triple setup.
So if you are in contact with the author (which I assume you are)...

I know that AmaFMOD is working on an amazing 5 cyl Volvo touring car sound! He hasn't released it yet, here is a preview:

Can't you just hide the extra number plates in the showroom and create previews with whatever preview template you use in the showroom itself? And then use the images that you have made as previews in the individual skin folders ?

Also this really seems like a non-issue when you compare it with the remaining package but I guess people are different and I don't have any issues with that.

that would only leave us with the mondeo v6 to find if this sound mod will be public; also, i think this mod is in dire need of a physics overhaul as it's a port from Race 07 by the looks of it

You probably won't find any news on it yet. I've had it on good authority from some Modder mates it's on the job list and been started on.

[Sodemo]

As much as an ACC port of Imola would be welcome, is it really needed? The AC model in terms of road mesh is virtually the same?

Anyone who has Skins Templates PSD for this Mercedes-Benz can share with me please

Been lapping on both today and they're very similar indeed. Nothing drastically improved in the ACC version. I like the tyre marks on the kerbs but that's about it.

Nice promotional video, thank you for sharing, I hope he gets a commission on the sales he generates, would be fair on such a great sales presentation. Love to try it.

Does anyone have a proper download link for this version of the track? The one that i got back in 2020 is old & it looks like crap.
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV127411p7Ha

& because theres a link that leads to Baidu, i don't have an account to download it.

Sachsenring v1.03 (update)

bug fixes and further optimization

• new normal map for tyre walls

• small changes to GT Masters bill boards
• corrected timing node which causes not counted lap times.
• further optimisationsreduced DIP, TRI and B.SIZE by combining small objects, splitting large objects and adding some more LODs.
• optimised ext_config.

I hope this will give especially low spec systems a better performance overall.
