I am angry or disappointed with you.
The reason is about your handling of download links in your videos.
You have thanked me several times for my help. If you are so grateful to me, why do you not use the original links and distribute them second hand? Why can't you do something simple?
Despite my previous warning in a PM, you broke it.
I am considering banning the use of Tracks I have released in your content in the future because the same mistake is being repeated.

This is my subjective opinion, but it seems that you only care about how well the AI is done and not about the layout or billboard logo. For example, you use melbourne_1998 for the 2005,2007,2008 seasons, but the shape of the pit entrance is different from the 1996-2003 layout, which can be easily seen by looking it up on racingcircuits.info etc.

Below is a list of links to the secondary distribution in the description section of your video. (Only Tracks/Addons that I have released)

Sorry for polluting the thread.

What are you talking about? Those asr_owc links are all direct link to your Mediafire links. Your own links that you have in your Mediafire account.

If some others aren't, they can be easily replaced just like I replaced the links to your Patreon by your request with the 1998 tracks. Some might have been just updated with Thockard's improved ai (which actually improved the tracks tremendously). If there is some conflict, it's easily fixable.

Edit: All those few asr_owc's are now fixed directly to your Mediafire instead of my Mediafire.

Why this public tantrum? You could have sent me a PM and we could have sorted this out.

Your FN Bahrain had an ai issue because you used an outdated version as a base. I fixed the .ini files and the layouts won't work without the base fn_bahrain file. Most people could never, ever set those up themselves properly. It's hard enough for them to extract track skins properly. Most people who download these seasons outside of use "HC guys" can barely make a toast. Do you except them to make those fn bahrain layouts to work and make the proper changes to ini files? Nope. Everything in your layouts are completely untouched. So what is the problem with having the full track available for easier installation for the end user? You might make a few bucks with your Patreon which is great. But I make ZERO with anything. All I care about is playing those classic F1 seasons.

Do we care that people get the best gaming experience or something else, huh? The track ai's are superior in the 1998 circuits. I can easily fix those few mentioned links with your Patreon links and make only the skins available. And yes, 1998 Melbourne pit exit is wrong for the newer years but the layout is correct and the track ai is absolutely superior to any other version. Yes, that is a praise to your track and people love it.

The 1998 season has probably thousands of downloads. The champs files have 11K downloads already. The initial video has 12K views and the updated one has 3K views. They will create a lot of traffic to your Patreon. And that season is so good because of your (and Thockards superb work). Why can't we be happy that people love it... outside this forum and this relatively small community where those vintage tracks and seasons are just "niche stuff" for very few enthusisasts?

I really don't care about any drama queen stuff. All communities are ruined because of this kind of useless arguments. Especially when these are easily fixable. And I truly appreciate your work and I'm willing to sort this out the way you want. I will change the 2005 and 2007 downloads to separate skins and those few track links go directly to your Patreon. Here, problem sorted and no drama is necessary. Right?

Edit: Fixing them one by one. 1990, 1991 and 1993 already fixed. Imho it was completely unnecessary to make this public. I have hundreds of track links and some have been accidentally left there because maintaining those seasons take so much time. I will fix the rest as soon as my work schedule permits it and/or replace your tracks with something else.

(This argument between shi and Apocalypse211 makes me feel as bad as when I watched "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice"... 😢)
I love the blasphemy of Batman wearing a fridge (or pieces of a teslatruck) only to punch the godly dude harder, ANYWAY it's time for that drink I owe you.

I remember when I did the 1995 and 1996 South African Touring Car championships in Race07 this car in particular was very hard to find reference photos for, so well done on this, excellent job.
cheers Bruce, luckily on this car i had the rear end and the side sometimes you have to search the year and what exact race and just hope you stumble across the car your skinning in the background or something like that, sometimes its enough to get the job done and be able to see sticker placements e.t.c

the issue is do you want to spend 3 hours looking at pictures.............as most of the time you find bugger all.

question is there a showroom/preset which only shows the driver model?
To my understanding no, but something you can do, is either :

- Create a car folder with the needed architecture (data, skins, ui etc), and put the driver.kn5 from the driver folder. Then double click the driver.kn5 while in that car folder you created and the driver will appear in cm showroom.

If you want to make a preset you can always generate preview, but you need to point the lods.ini in the data folder to driver.kn5

POV your car is a little too happy to see you back

Tracks listing update

I'm really sorry but adding Add-ons to the listing takes too much time and will no longer be added to the listing, but will be posted every Saturday on my Patreon as a list.
Welp, more arguments coming, I'm sure, so apologies in the thread in advance.

I'm sorry, but I have to say this is a considerably detrimental decision to your list, and by extension the community.

The add-ons, including skins, AI reworks (like the ones I do), re-textures, and countless others are essential to upgrading dated tracks that can be as much as 10 years old now.

To willingly choose to lock this information behind a Patreon paywall going forward is shocking, to be honest. This is essentially removing 50% of the usefulness of AC's most essential database in one blow.

If you need help with others adding the information to the spreadsheet due to time constraints, that's completely understandable - but in that case, simply ask for help from those in the know and allow those people edit permission. If you simply don't have the time, and for some reason cannot allow others to touch the list, then why not drop add-ons completely? It'd be disappointing, and finding add-ons would be considerably more difficult for everyone, but people would understand and come around in time.

That is absolutely not how this reads - it reads like "all of this essential add-on info that has been free for as long as this list has been active will now and in future be in a detailed list behind a minimum $3 a month Patreon". Which I cannot support in any way.

I'll be honest - I thought this was a joke before I read further and actually clicked the Patreon - and then "joined" for free to find these posts were indeed paywalled.

It's your list, it's your decision, but I cannot abide by it - and I imagine not many others can either.

I started reworking this car in 2022 because I thought that TonyB's port was kind of an insult to VLM and their magnificent work. It was missing so many aero parts, skins were a mismatch, it was just tragic.

After a while I stopped bc it was too much for one person and restarted in 2023 with adding missing liveries so this car has, I think, all liveries from 1982 to 1986. (might've missed some that didn't have ref pics). The quality ain't great because I used the regular 2k skins as base but it is better than nothing.

In the end it's still not perfect (think there's a way to use one single car instead of three but I don't know nor care to know how to do it) but I can't be arsed (since '23 lol) to further work on this car so I'll let y'all do it. It need lods, better physics, some other things (some rear wings variants are still missing; rims aren't properly accurate but I don't have the motivation to even swap those with the mutiple rims setup I used for my PC2 962, yeah I'm lazy).

Some pics to show the aero configs:

(not an error, it did race that way)

Anyone having issues with the new recommended version of CSP 0.2.11? I'm having memory dump issues with this CSP version. But the other CSP versions, I don't have this issue.

Funny — about 1–2 years ago, there was this whole debate here about people trying to monetize every bit of nonsense through Patreon.

We were all ranting about it and joking together. I even said to Breathe at the time, “Hey, at least you’ve got a product — your Breathe list you could sell.”

It was all meant sarcastically of course.
So I’m a bit surprised that it’s now becoming a bit of reality.
But at least he’s not putting the entire work behind a paywall on Patreon.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be able to confirm if they're having the same issue I'm having. I was doing some hotlaps at Canberra 400 by Rmi, and when I get to a certain corner, if I get anywhere near the curb, the car slows down to a crawl. It's like quicksand.
Here's a picture of the specific corner -

I apologize for using strong language and offending you and others who saw the post.
Also, as you said, I should have said it in a PM. Apologies for this as well.
Take care about link management in the future. Thanks for editing the description section of the video.

It's nice to see that there are still people who can resolve their differences by talking civilly, without having endless arguments...

And speaking of differences of opinion, my five cents on the subject of Breathe's Sacred List; let's see if I can explain my point of view without offending anyone, which is not my intention...

Is the decision he's made annoying? Yes, but I don't think we can "demand" how he has to share his compilation work, which I'm sure must be way hard and time-consuming. Personally (personally, I insist), I would feel selfish asking Breathe to continue with his list the way it is now, with him doing the hard work of compilation and me taking advantage of searching for anything comfortably with a couple of clicks...

Would I like the List to continue as it is? Absolutely, of course, but everyone is free to choose how to share their personal work, and all that remains for me to do is thank Breathe for selflessly sharing his List up to now (which, by the way, doesn't seem to be going away for the moment) and wish him luck.

It should be quite simple.
Add an "extension" folder, under your new layout folder.
Inside this folder:
  • copy the new texture.
  • create an "ext_config.ini" file.

Edit the "ext_config.ini" file whit the following lines:

[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MESHES = put here the name of the mesh you want to change the texture
RESOURCE_0 = txDiffuse
RESOURCE_FILE_0 = put here the name of the new texture (with the file extension, eg: .dds)

Instead of MESH names you can use MATERIALS names.
You can create a folder in the track called ./texture and simply put a new dds of the same name as the one you want replaced
