Not to defend The Race Project, but you're criticizing and criticizing someone else's work, which, no matter how much you disagree with it, deserves respect. If you're more capable of taking a mod that was originally disastrous in every way (ACFL) and redoing it perfectly and flawlessly, why don't you do it and share it with the community? It would be fantastic instead of criticizing and slamming it. This isn't a polemic, but a suggestion. Because in the meantime, I assume you contributed to their Patreon to get it, or if you didn't get it from other sources.
You are defending thieves, thieves that charge money for stolen work, they are worse than simdream at this stage, and their cars arent even done that well. I paid for a one month subscription last year and was not happy with the ridiculous skin sizes, average physics, out of proportion models, and then i learnt they were just using other people's mods, updating them to how they like them, and then charging people... and yes, you can find their files on kemono and reddit, not worth giving them 1 cent for their crooked "work".

ACU Interlagos.

Add another amazing track that no longer works with CSP 0.2.11

Well it works. It races ok. But when the ai cars have time to pit, they drive staight to the concrete wall that is on the left of the pitlane 250 km/h.May they all rest in peace.

Tested version ACU 1.0. I tried another pitlane.ai from some other version. No difference. All crash.

Well I'm not an expert and can't say it's definitely the CSP. But a lot of tracks no longer work like they used to. It can be something else too. The cars pitted and raced without any problems for years at ACU Interlagos. Now they crash when pitting. I don't know what it is... but the old saying "don't fix what ain't broken" applies to CSP/CM/physics/whatever it is. :)

soon coming to my Patreon for only 69€ !!!! (I have to feed my 4 wives and their 12 children :( )
You're so clueless you don’t even understand the basic concept of having a Patreon. No one’s begging for money to feed four kids and a dying wife, it’s there to progressively support a project that's constantly evolving. I'm not reselling a lazy conversion without permission from the authors or something made 15 years ago, some people like to give away their time for free because that's how they think is worth, others simply don't, those skins are just extras and yeah they still can be downloaded from other sites I just organize it into each skin which obvs takes time. This is ongoing work that will eventually lead to rebuilding every car from scratch. There is a big difference in sdd making conversion without permission and just having whatever they did placed in a marketplace withtout updating a single thing, the mods made from me are with all proper permissions from the authors *if they are reachable, and I have every screenshot of the conversations with each one of them.

And since you say the original mod deserves respect, well, that’s exactly what I’m doing by preserving CTDP/ACFL’s work and improving on it. So instead of coming in this toxic platform to criticize others people work just by the sake of it or trying to “de-raceproject” the cars, why don’t you actually go ahead and improve the ACFL version from scratch yourself? would be very cool to see that.

hi all,

My Showroom now shows this vintage camera effect:

screenrecording of the issue

Anyone knows where this is coming from and how to disable?

ps: just back from 2 week vacation (I finally saw the great pyramids irl!!!)
I didn't go through all pages of last weeks (and not going to I think), so sorry if this has been asked and answered...

The whole drama annoys me sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much you guys have no idea.

I have enough about the whole discourse about the 2006 season mod, the whole patreon thing is endless discussion I find everywhere I go, I open discord First message I see is about this. I open Gtplanet same. Ever since ACFL took it that cursed season had drama between ACFL vs MSF, now it's the race project and the patreon. Yet in between nobody, NOBODY ever decided to pick up the work and redo it. Moore is right in a sense that ever since 2017, for more than 7 YEARS all we have seen is people saying "the 2006 mod is garbage" without any concrete effort to change the situation.

I'll make a 2006 CTDP full reconversion.

Agree 100% would be awesome to see your version mate.

They also say ACFL 1994 mod is garbage too.

I've been playing thse F1 cars for years and always liked the 1994 ACFL. Amazing sounds, pretty challenging to drive, nice cockpits.

What there is not to like? The season I created is pretty popular.

Over 2000 downlods already... 6K views on the video too... plays really well... great races, no SD-type stuff cars sliding off the track etc. I created the TV graphics and imho they really add to the atmosphere and the 1992 tracks (mainly) are superb (with Thockard 1st class AI). Cars also respond very well to json created driver AI ratings. You can guarantee it's Schumi and Hill taking the poles and winning the races.

Sure... if you play these cars with garbage tracks (with slow, erratic fastlane) these won't perform well. If you want quality drive, you also need quality tracks (and fastlane). Car alone doesn't do the trick.

Over the years people have released so many half assed championships without even testing them... bad track combos... Also... what good does a "AC f1 championship" do if it doesn't have realistic race results or even work properly in some tracks? I had this trial and error phase which was frustrating but I've found the best way to create these... not perfect but very good.

Maybe this video created a few bucks to ACFL... I don't know the guy... I don't care. I don't get a dime... I don't WANT a dime. I have decent work, don't need money. I just want to play these games and share the clssic F1 passion with fellow AC friends. I have no other motivation.

I wish people just dropped the drama queen stuff. We are all improving AC and creating something that no other sim can ever do. Personally, I'd love everything to be public domain and the only common goal would be improving this "AC project". I think 95% of the community is exactly like that though.

I never even tried the 2006 cars as people say they're bad. Nice that you redo them. 2008 cars are very nice.

I'll have to dig veeeerrrrrryyyyyyyy deep to find motivation to do 2013. Maybe for fun I'll convert the classic cars.

2006, I'm not going to do it, doesn't mean you won't have one, TheRaceProject is trying to remaster it, and i'm helping him in that task by converting all the aero kit updates from the CTDP mod (😭😭😭)

2012, I won't do it myself, but another modder wanted to give it a try (named forbys)

Early 2000s, Not interested. I'm happy enough with MSF 2004 mod.

late 90s, Only season I was somewhat interested in doing (1999) is already being done by someone else in this forum.

TLDR : No

Also on a wider view, I doubt I'll do another full season, I would have done 3 full seasons (2008, 2010, 2011) and the FVA mod which would make a total of 42 cars converted for Assetto Corsa. In around a year and half. That's a lot, and too much for me. While my passion for these seasons allowed me to convert, convert and convert, I've reached the end of my own request list and kinda reached burnout state. And my relationship with Assetto Corsa is at an all time low with all the ******** I had to put up with and its shenigans that made modding annoying. While this is mostly caused by the fact that I used a low spec laptop (4th gen i7 processor, powered by intel hd graphics 4400.....) that was more of a windows 8 tablet rather than anything, Assetto didn't help on his side either.

And I can't even enjoy what I'm doing which is the most frustrating part. I discover how my cars look through screenshots from other people driving my cars and onboard lap video they do. Seeing people praising your work, thanking you, it gives the same frustration as seeing the neighboor kid licking his lollipop while you're too poor to afford tasting the taste.

So after these are done, I'll just retire from being a full time modder. I'll just be available to help others in their own projects like I'm doing with TheRaceProject for his 2006 remaster.

I'll also take this occasion to post the conversion guide I wrote last year, where I compiled all the knowledge I gathered while learning how to mod so that 1 I don't forget how to do stuff when I do a break of 2 month. 2 Anyone can gather the courage of doing the first step to enter the modding scene. Usual modding guides you can find are kinda raw and aimed at people who knows their stuff, this one was made so that a total beginner can convert his first F1 car from start to finish.

I may retire, but that doesn't mean that those seasons will be forever abandoned. Just need that someone (like me for 2008,10,11) to take the step and do the job.

How to convert a car - Assetto Corsa Conversion (gitbook.io)
Can't believe I wrote this last year and ended up doing them anyway (2013,2012, 2006). Waiting for that someone that never came.

Help please,
I got a problem with all CSP versions above 0.2.3 showing too outshiny bright especially the menu colours.
The newest 0.2.11 even is worst as it adds all colours grayish bland. Clear blue sky is all gray no shine at all but the menu remains too bright so one can hardly read.
All CSPs below work flawless showing correct palette/shaders/reflections inside vr headset.

Problem here is that to race at LFM I'll have to as they require CSP-0.2.7 n above.
The default SOL is in use but all other pp-filters don't cure these symptoms. Also whenever I change CSP versions I restart CM and reset SOL config ingame as recommended.

Specs are a Quest3 via link cable, Win11-7800x3d-RX7900xtx

Why not have a second install just for LFM? Also, why SOL and not PURE?

When you say you start CM, are you clearing the AC folder in My Documents? If not, rename the folder to something like Assetto Corsa - Backup then run CM and let it repopulate the folder. This way you can be certain everything is back to defaults and then you can add in the different cfg .ini files one at a time to discover what is causing the issues.

Btw Sol does not work with CSP 0.2.10 or newer!
So that might explain the gray sky. Just use Pure!

Hi guys, can you explain what a mod is needed to differentiate between daytime and nightime lights? I have this car and I'd really like to enable daytime lights, which currently only come on with the nightime lights.
Thanks to all.

@Peter Boese: after checking, wider shots of the track DO look like your images, but I think my perception about the extreme wet weather skyboxes looking a little bland (like normal overcast skies) is because the horizon (which is mainly what we see through our windscreens) is a lot lighter and less moody/dramatic than the sky directly overhead (which we can't really see in a tin-top). Seems like most of the drama is mainly hidden from view under normal driving conditions. Is there a way to move the drama more into our field of view by extending the moody clouds all the way to the horizon?
You can darken the distance / horizon a bit with the "sky level" parameter:

After:

Really?

Peter, my all old F1 seasons are SOL based? Should I change them all to PURE based?

How do I define the weather in the championships files with PURE?

Any example code?

This is how I've used the SOL weather.

Code:
      "track": "knr_silverstone_2005/gp",
      "time": 44792,
      "temperature": 28.0,
      "laps": 20,
      "weather": "sol_02_few_clouds",
      "surface": 5

This has nothing to do with the weatherFX style. Those weather presets are still included in Pure because of compatibility reasons.

Those weather presets just define the weather type. And those have not changed, those are steady in CSP and are the same for Sol and Pure and the default weatherFX style. So those would work with any weatherFX style, as long as those “Sol” Weather presets would be installed. But as I said, those are still part of Pure anyway.

Select the “Pure static” weather controller in the CM Drive menu weather selection and it should work with Pure…

Mod not up to par, my goodness, how can you say you like it? While the models in version 2 are a bit improved, the cockpits are poor, not to mention the nameplates and sounds... The physics are undrivable, the cars are super fast. Wait a few weeks, there's a promising new 1994 mod coming soon... Free!!!
