I drag the files over manually into the AC directory , running Windows 11 Windows defender is on.
Sorry, but this is not how it works today!
You must use 7zip app and you must use the "Extract" button to extract the 4 folders to your used AC root folder.
Thats why i made the install video. As soon as the Windows Security tools can act (using the windows explorer, when you drag files), script files are scanned and it is possible that they are not copied - without any warning or message!

Maybe also use the uninstall_pure.bat from the Pure zip before you install again!

I'm curious if this works, because it would be another step of the worse behavior of the Windows security tools...

Ok first of all i want to apologize @Peter Boese for thinking PURE was an issue I understand now it clearly is not. It appears that CM on my system for what ever reason has become very unstable, nothing i have done solves the issue. Is there an alternative to content manager For launching AC?

Not with all the modding. But just deinstall it completely! Remove the folder I showed you! And then install the latest from GitHub…

Last chance.
There is another folder which can have corrupted data. Go to your Document folder and rename "Assetto Corsa" folder.
It will be difficult that you will solve the issue, but it's worth a try.

you should be greatful you have csp at all though... and there are so many versions that you can just use an older version. stick to 0.179. you can go back to AC vanilla if you like too. also you dont have to pay for it, it is everywhere if you google it. I am very greatful for everything the modder has done to improve a commercially made game.
I'm grateful i live in a country that has a democracy and we don't kill homosexuals and women have rights.......... doesn't mean i don't moan about the various government's in charge though etc etc...

Normal rational people can separate stuff out and not treat any slight critique like they just spat in your Mums face...
For me its like some people are so fragile in their utter belief in something, that any degree of someone saying a slight negative scares them half to death.... just like religious / cult people...

Q: I have a BMW 435d (F32) xDrive Coupé mod that's based on the Kunos M4 that I downloaded a couple of years ago from YouTube here, but the acceleration and sound are wrong. Having never modded anything in AC, whats involved to change the acceleration to make it quicker and make the engine sound quieter just like my real life car? Unfortunately, the modder didn't put his name to the original mod so I'm unable to contact them, and the download link in the mad is now dead.

Currently in WIP state and I don´t know about releasing it for public (showroom is a paid one).
Can you please just share the settings without the paid showroom? This angle and lighting could look nice in the basic showroom.
I'm still struggling to create a universal one that I'm entirely happy with, and am getting bored with trying to decipher the various options.

This setting will only work with this particular showroom, since alot of the settings I did differ from the ones I did previously. You may start with the Kunos default setting and alter your settings from this point, as a first start. I sent you a message over discord, we could chat and I would be happy to help you further there.

The world is getting more and more polarized, for many reasons. (Which also means I have to use the term "polarized" instead of "black and white".)

Either you agree, or you disagree. Nothing in between. No greys.

Criticising something or someone is now usually interpreted as you being an enemy attacking this someone or something.

The whole concept was invented in the USA. 🙃

CTDP I need explanations.......................

This is the car rim
1753035213960.png

If you hide this object here's what you get

1753035250104.png

Where is the rim you may ask? Well it's the circular thing. The transparency in the texture make it look like a rim

1753035291211.png

I fail to see a single argument about how this is effective. They modeled the side of the rim just to not model the front???

I fail to see a single argument about how this is effective. They modeled the side of the rim just to not model the front???
I've seen this trick on a few Race07 cars I've tried to convert. Seems like a way to avoid having to model the whole rim, just make the texture hide the gaps between the rims like a window. I've yet to work out what setting works best in kseditor to replicate the effect.

but since the sides are done, why not make the front?

Optimisation? Lazyness?

EDIT : I checked the ferrari, the rim are in one piece........ Sooooo

Help needed please

Big ask I know, but on the off chance of someone knowing....

I have a new PC and wanted to start afresh with AC with mods etc. I thought I would remember all my favourites, but no, I was wrong.

There is a track that I would love to find again, I'll try and describe it

It is based in Britain, it is roughly I would say 4-5 miles long, based on country roads, clockwise lap. It's a little like High Force but much smaller. Winding country roads, open fields, pubs, tight parts with hedges both sides, and a really long straight

If anyone has some tracks similar to this, please throw some names below and I'll hopefully find this little gem again

Thanks in advance

My guess is Zwiss' Crystal Palace.

Or might be the Dundrod conversion - the original was by Jim Pearson, but it was semi-unauthorized and there was hullaballoo about the whole thing a few years ago.

Binley Mega Chippy (probably not) by Nukedrop (Early Access)

And a few more for my guesses:

Coastal Rush - https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/coastal-rush.42485/

Evo Triangle - https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/the-evo-triangle.12549/

https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/glencoe.17121/ - Glencoe

Glencoe/Glen Sheil is a free roam map - so it won't be that one. Nice pull on "Coastal Rush" - actually missed that somehow.

Got a link for "Yorkshire Moors" - preferably the rework? Breathe's list doesn't have one.

Here you go. I didn't realize there wasn't a link anywhere so I put it up on my Mediafire. It's certainly not reworked, I don't believe there's a reworked copy floating around? This is the original track and I put together an ext_config awhile back with GrassFX, RainFX, some very, very basic night lighting, some shader tweaks as well as a couple other little things. It makes it better, but it's still rather rough. AI works really nicely here though, so that's the positive trade-off. I would love for tracks like this to get a proper rework.
Enjoy!

Never been able to work it out myself. I would like to say laziness but some of the Simbin S2000 cars had them like that, so perhaps more optimization to keep polys down.
