Audi, BMW or Mercedes?

Audi for me, the road car and the R8 LM , i mean, not the LMP racer.
I love Merc. too but only two caught my heart, SLR and 300SL.
As for BMW, it's not that i hate it. I don't like either. Maybe too 'normal', i guess.

Just don't enjoy anything 4wd, but the new A4 feels 10x better than the 330xi, can't even believe BMW has pulled off such a crappy awd handling characteristic, the audi seem to have a rwd feel until you start pushing it through corners and then you get a spongy family sedan type feeling.

Mercs all the way! My mom has a C300, and I've driven it a bit, and I love that car. 2nd would be BMW, because my dad used to have a 4dr 1994 3 series which was an amazing car, but I don't really like any of the new ones except for the M3, and then Audi's. They are understeering litte 🤬.

So for me, its Mercs, BMW, then Audi

BMW - unattractive rep-mobile, sell as many 3-series' as ford do mondeo's, each car is just a smaller/larger version of the same theme, amazing ability to produce ugly cars that no-one wants and sell them to people who are more interested in the badge they're driving than what they're driving, generally found tail-gating on the outside lane of the M4.

Audi - overpriced Volkswagen, driven by reps who used to drive BMW's till they got a reputation for being a rep-mobile and they don't want everyone thinking they're a rep, annoyingly seem to have started the obsession with those ridiculously bright and pointless daytime running lights, also found tail-gating on the outside lane of the M4.

Mercedes - after adopting the production controls of the French manufacturers you're generally lucky to get to your destination with all of the car you started the journey with, generally found dreaming about 'the good old days' (why else would they stick Schui back in an F1 car?), target markets include the over 60's, hairdressers and gangstas.


It's a shame as all 3 have produced some real classics in their time, which is what I'm going to rate them on, so I'll say Mercedes, Audi and then BMW.

Cant you think of anything original. Thats pretty much word for word what Jeremy Clarkson says about all three.

I love the M cars up until the they did the X5/X6. M cars have always been N/A. The diesels have helped set a new standard for efficiency and combines it with sports characteristics that make them unique.

I love Mercedes for their torque and awesome american sound. Their safety features and tech are great and industry leading.

As for Audi, the four-wheel drive pioneers. I like how they pretty much pioneered and conquered the concept of four-wheel drive in rallying.

Each car has their own unique sound. From the high revving N/A inline-6 of the E46 M3 to the 5 cylinder turbo Audi S1 and the ground pounding V8 of the 6.2 AMG models. They all have their own charm.

My order overall is BMW, Audi, then Mercedes.

No, "they" didn't. Karl Benz did, at least as far as a carriage powered by an internal combustion engine is concerned - steam and electric ones came first, a touch curious to see that it may yet come full circle. The company that resulted from the merger of Daimler's company with Benz's company is now Mercedes-Benz, and only merged some forty years after Karl Benz first patented his vehicle.

You're just playing to Daimler AG's marketing ploys, even down to the preferential use of Daimler's own "Mercedes" moniker

On a more appropriate note my order would be...

Audi first, because personally I think they're the best looking (got to love those LED headlights), not to mention their domination at the 24 of Le Mans.

Mercedes second, mainly because of AMG, but as previously stated Mercs tend to be on the overweight side, which hampers what could be an excellent car.

BMW last, because I really wish they would branch out and try something different. (Yes I'm one of those... ) Known as great driving cars, but too plain looking for my tastes.

Mind you this is all based on in-game experience. I have driven none of these makes IRL. The only car I've driven is a umm... a Mustang.

While Im a huge fan of the Audi LM team, I don`t like their road cars. They look cool, but somehow every sedan (I only drive sedans, I will NEVER EVER pay money for a ugly wagon, no matter how you call it (avant, sportsback whatever)) looks the same. Why bother paying alot of money for a A6 if most people out there can`t tell the difference between that car and a A4.

Im not a big fan of BMW either (Yes, this has alot to do with BMW`s attitude in F1 and boring characters like Dr. Mario Theissen and Nick Heidfeld, it was such a nice day when BMW left F1...), but I have to admit that old BMWs (E36 is my fav BMW) and some newer ones look awesome.

I like Mercedes more, every Mercedes has its own charm and looks different from other (atleast to me). Also, there is atleast one Mercedes for every customer type.
Want something classy, big and safe? E-Class!
You`re young and search for a cool car? C-Class (Avant Garde)!
Wanna be a bad ass on and off road? G-Class!
+ I have so many good expierences with MB`s, I think you wont find reliable and good everyday cars like a W140 or W210 (The e300 turbodiesel... one hell of a car) today anymore.

For those who are interested... The great story about the old Mercedes GP cars which where 1kg to heavy for the 750kg rules (so they had to rub off the colour,t hen the cars became silver) is just a VERY BIG lie.
Nevertheless, Mercedes did awesome things in the 30s.

Mercs aren't far behind BMW in driving, although also have a slight image issue (and the only two decent Merc drivers in the world that come to mind are one N. Rosberg and one G. Paffett. The rest are floppy idiots). Not the best looking cars either, and I detest AMG's obsession with not only unnecessarily large engines, but also turbocharging said engines.[/FONT]

In GT5: Audi. BMW. Merc

For me, my driving style and how I tune cars, I love all the Audis in the game. The R8 LMS (the one with the PlayStation paint scheme) make me giggle like a schoolgirl every time I drive it. Even for a standard car, it looks awesome and it's an absolute dream to drive!

BMW's in GT5 are ok. That little 1 series is a pretty good car right out of the box. The M3 is really good with some tuning. I don't care for the M5 or Z4M.

Merc has the SLS and it's one of the best cars in the game but their other cars leave a little to be desired.


In real life: BMW. Merc. Audi.

I had a 2004 BMW 525. It was awesome!

I have a 2010 Merc C300. It's very nice. Not as sporty as I'd like tho.

Had an ex girlfriend with an Audi A6. It was nice with civilized driving. If you drove it aggressively, you noticed how bad the understeer was.


After seeing McNish and Rockenfeller not just survive those horrendous wrecks last week at Le Mans, but walk away from them, made me really consider buying an Audi as my next car. The safety features that will be integrated into the framework of future Audis will be very good based on what Audi has learned from those wrecks. Not that their cars aren't safe now because they are very safe. Those two wrecks will teach them a lot though. What they learn will get into road cars pretty quickly.

Just because he has a bigger stage than me doesn't mean that I hadn't formulated that opinion on my own, we do, for instance have differing opinions on the original VW Beetle but actually have similar views on fox hunting.
Clarkson may also think the same as you about Audi's pioneering four wheel drive systems, I do too, but I'm not about to accuse you of not having an original thought.

In 2009 there were approximately 6,775,235,700 people on this planet of ours (source: World Bank) and I'd be willing to bet that more than 2 of us think that modern Mercedes' have poor build quality, BMW have built some ugly cars and Audi revolutionised rallying with four wheel drive.

While I like all 3, I would say Audi is my favourite and BMW my least, although the C63 AMG is my favourite 4-door car in the game.

Sorry to say this, but you have absolutely no clue.
BMW won the 24 hours of le mans.
BMW won a F1 championship with Brabham.
BMW had the most succesfull touring cars in europe during the 70ies.
BMW had the most succesfull touring cars in the late 80ies and early 90ies.

But maybe you´re just too young to know this.
Anyway i think all three of them have a great racing history. So motorsport is a very good argument.

Actually, Mercedes is a daughter of Emil Jellinek. She is neither a daughter of Gottlieb Daimler nor Carl Benz. Who is Emil Jellinek....? Maybe one of the bigest fan of the Daimler-Benz.

One interesting fact about Mercedes-Benz is that, Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz, had never met face to face in their lifes.

I'll choose Mercedes, because of it's history....... and the dream star that shines more than a century on every car they made.

In what way are BMW interiors cheap? I think they are very solid, premium and sleek.
Sure the ride is firmer than Mercedes but I don't find interiors cheap at all.

Also, why didn't PD include the newer Audi RS4? It's such a good car, just seems silly to leave that out of their car list.
