ok just in case you guys havent got the latest MOTOR mag (July 2005), they're issuing a challenge to all readers (or, really, just GT4 players)

CHALLENGE 1: Arcade mode > time trial > Nurburgring > nissan 350Z GT4 ed. > sports soft tyres > quick tune for max power and min weight. traction control and transmission choices open

CHALLENGE 2: any car, any settings, fastest outright time for the 'Ring

send a screenshot of your time to motor@acp.com.au (you can take a pic of the tv screen or use a capture card, whatever). winning entries verified by memory card. winners get exclusive GT4 jacket. entries close July 15. im assuming its for australian gamers only, but feel free to test that theory!

I'm assuming they have the same criteria for eligibility as on these forums (at least 2 tyres on the road, etc.)


So, what are your best results for either (or both) of challenges 1 or 2?

I would enter the comp but my DFP is in the shop and I don't want to use a sucky DS2 to play the game :( :(
 
Is the challenge for Aus only? Or can I participate also? I live in the Netherlands
 
i would say aussies only, because im not too sure if MOTOR will be too happy to ship halfway around the world. but as stated in the post, feel free to test the theory!

:bowdown: Thankyou ChompOnRice for starting this thread - I'd forgoten all about that Motor comp. I think that GT4 jacket would look damn good on my back. Maybe I could sell it to Famine if he ain't got one. :sly:

So, 350Z and the 'ring you say...

If I don't stop competing in all these comps (photomodes, race series etc.) I'll never get this damn game finished. :nervous: :)
 
I was gonna post about this when I recieved my MOTOR in the mail. I have only ran 1 lap so far for the first competition, beat Dean Evans time by 5 seconds witha really, really untidy lap. :lol:

By the way I hope everyone keeps us posted on their time... I dont think it is a forum violation since it is not directly part of the best track times - it is more specific.
 
@thebindley: the term ''SAN'' is Japanese. So while your slur is not only unnecessary, inappropriate and rude, it also demonstrates some serious deficits in geography, languages skills and social knowledge. Your kind of remarks are not welcome by the majority of the GTP members!

what was Dan Evans time? just wondering. oh yea, my current time is 7.23.583. I can dip into the 7.22.xxx's, just after 3 or 4 laps, I'm going to take a break.

btw, what is everyone else's fastest time?

I hope Hollo1 doesnt show up. I know he has a 7'16.0xx with the exact same combo :scared:.
 
I got a 7.22.058 now. oh ****, I swear Holl01 pisses me off. not by anything he's said or anything, just I can't imagine taking 6 goddamn seconds off my time. it pisses me off so damn bad. yea, I'd say if I can stop sliding off the damn road, I can still get to 7.21.6xx or lower, but thats about it for me. I am too pissed right now to improve on that time. I might come back later.

I haven't started training yet, but it's good to get some times to aim for. I have a couple of suggestions though:

1: Please can everybody try and enter the open sectionto give ME a chance in the 350Z?
2: Can all the Div1 drivers stay away, again to give ME a chance?
3: If the comp is restricted to Australia, then others don't enter - again to give ME a chance?

Please, I need to have some sort of chance, don't I? :) I'm floundering here...

I belive I'm not sure if I'm a division II or III racer. I'm definately not div I sadly.

It comes from the WRS (Weekly Race Series). If you're enrolled and compete there, then you'll know what division you are. If not registered there, then you don't have a division and you may be competition for me... :)
 
nope it turns out I'm a division II driver currently. I did it a while back and was division II and I just redid it and posted a better time by 4 tenths, so I submitted it and hopefully I will be promoted to division I.

I don't think you can change divisions can you - once you've qualified thats it? :)
 
7:20.506 for me. not sure if I can go too much faster. there might be a second in it but thats my limit. anyone want to post what cars they're trying in the open section. also, is the open section only in arcade or can you do a lap in GT mode with some serious mods?

7.45.xxx!!!!! your kidding right? my first run was a 7.30.xxx and that was a horrible run. I went off the track and into the kitty litter and I still managed to be 15 seconds faster than him. what kind of magazine would you say this is? would you compare it to EVO magazine? or more to Max Power? cause the time he put out, it sounds like a Max Power magazine.
