well there was more than a second. I'm now at 7'17.541. there always seems to be time to find at the ring. I'm done for a while now. exams and stuff.
 
I missed this whole racial slur thing. Was it directed at me? It seems that user's messages have been deleted from this thread because the argument isn't making any sense to me...

Anyhoo, all this competition is making me randy, I'll have to pull out the *grumble* DS2 and see just how much I can whoop your times.

7.45.xxx!!!!! your kidding right? my first run was a 7.30.xxx and that was a horrible run. I went off the track and into the kitty litter and I still managed to be 15 seconds faster than him. what kind of magazine would you say this is? would you compare it to EVO magazine? or more to Max Power? cause the time he put out, it sounds like a Max Power magazine.

Yeah, he may not be too good at GT4, but he managed to get 17th in some road rally with a Honda Integra Type S, which is pretty damn good since he was up against cars like Porsches and Lotuses.

Definately more of a EVO magazine. They review/test new 'performance' cars. :)
 
oh, well he may just not be good at games. the same goes for my neighbor, he not to good at GT4 but he's pretty decent driver in real life.

i have a 7'16.016 in the 350z, i did that for the ireland competition, and it was completely clean.

does anyone know if it has to b clean, i'm assuming not cos u only hav to take a screen shot of the time. if thats the case

i did a 7'10.xxx dirty in the nissan 350z

and 4 competition 2, i did a 4'54.450 in tyota minolta, arcade, some time ago
 
MOTOR is the biggest selling car magazine in Australia i think. And Dean Evans may not be a gun at GT4 but he has had very good results in alot of road rallys. Was doing well in Targa Tassie a few years back in an almost stock Ford Falcon XR6 turbo before they had to retire with car trouble.

Challenge 1: 7'29.717
Challenge 2: 5:28.786

I hope Motor don't send back a mocking reply...I think it's back to GT4-School for me...
 
That track is an absolute bugger, forget about pushing thy limits of the PS2 it s pushing the limits of my sanity, a little extreme but a close analogy. Driving without the map helps some what (odd but true). Does that lap in the 1886/9 daimler motor carriage count-perhaps the worlds slowest lap of the 'Ring.
 
i dont think it has to be clean.

hahaha, i did a 7'44.xx just now with a major spinout/offcourse at the first uphill-high speed bend.
 
after i finish my b-spec race i'm going to try this. even though i won't be in contest cause i live in california :(.
 
This challenge should have been done in the last special licence test. That way they could have assured no track skipping.
Anyone want to share what cars they are using for challenge 2. I've been going with the Jag that you win at 50%. It's quick but tricky to drive consistently on the limit. Good luck everyone :dopey:
 
i had a go with the formula one car, LOL, in arcade mode, its so hard too control its not funny.

but if i put it all together, a 4'50.xxx is on the cards, and i also managed 7'09.xxx also with nissan 350z

can u enter both competitions?

u hav to rebound off walls to get a 7'09.xxx
theres about 7 places where u can successfully do it, i have a 7'16.016 clean, so i guess, by cheating, u can wipe off about 6 seconds

and the minolta is the best car to use 4 the other challenge, but make sure u turn all aids off, as the TCS effects speed on straights significantly.

i hav a 4'53.656 in minolta

Unfortunately I did this a while ago and don't have a screen shot, but it seems holl01 will kick my butt even if I tried again. Oh well.
 
Man, they run a compeitition like this and then allow wall riding and the likes? Amateurs.
 
ok i have a time 7'11'357 it took about 5 laps but i got an pretty good time i think.
 
Hi guys, saw a thread from Prancing Horse over at TT re this, so might have a shot meself - reckon I can walk a clean 7:40 :) PH has asked APC for a rule clarification, on the "clean" rules. See what he gets back. Nice if soemone could put a 350z table of times together, with annotations for clean and dirty ;) (j/k :yuck: )

I have an old lap i did at the ring on Minolta, 4'48.108, can i send the maxdrive file of the replay?
 
How can you guys be pulling 7:30`s or 7:20.xxx i drove my butt off and put down a clean & smooth 7:43.388 on my 7th try.I would say for dean to do a 7:45.xxx the rules would be for clean runs only!
 
even with clean runs I can get sub 7'20 and hollo has a 7'16.

Both of us can provide replays, so we dont lie :)
 
I was looking forward to this but if they're going to allow 'short cuts' and wall riding I wont waste my time. :(

Mate you gotta try a little harder than that. I only did two laps and got 7:37 with one unintentional off track excursion and NO cheating.

lol - u sound like a teacher.... excursion off track - i think i might know you ;)

and im gunna have to some practice in :D and stop using my v8 supercar :(
