It doesn`t count if you cheat.
Also Mr slow do you have your ASM/trac settings handy? I would like to have a crack at the ring with your settings just to see how i go,i doubt i will beat your time but it cant hurt to see how close i can get.

I use the default settings. I don't even look at them so I can't tell you what they are. Also I am running the SartheI 24 at the moment (hour 10) so I can't check until tomorrow.

i didnt see anything in the article that says u cant cheat

and it doesnt matter anyway
they only want the photo of the records screen i think
so i think its ok to cheat...

if not, i did a 7'12.xxx no cheating

I haven't heard from the magazine yet about the track rules. You'd think that 1 week is long enough....

The article says "verification by memory card" so the picture is not enough. What will they verify with the memory card is what we need to find out. (Not that I'd enter as i already know there is very little chance of me getting below 7:30....)
 
Has anyone attempted Challenge 2 yet? In Motor magazine he said he got something like 5:45 is that right?

What is everyone else getting for any car, any settings on the 'ring?
 
I sent them a 5'28 in my F1, I've since posted a 5'13 but I don't think there's any point in sending it. Too many people can crack the 5.
 
I think they'll have to accept "cheating" entries. It would be a huge effort to get a person to send their lap on memory card only to find they took a short cut, then have to check the second best time and so on.

ouch thats fast. clean im starting to barely push 7.20. Thats the best I can probably do
 
Just noticed this thread :)

I'm off to try the Z at the ring. I'm terrible with the F1 car at the ring so my overall is poop.
 
If that was the case what would be the point of asking for a memory card (which is what the are doing)?

i concur, currently my time is the best and that was with cheating, i can do a 7'12.xxx clean, but i suppose if anyone wants to beat me, there gonna have to beat 7'07.978 cos theres only onw winner i'm assuming. i'm more than willing to help out anybody who wants help,

No wonder you're a gun Div 1 driver in WRS. Can't wait for the next Motor Mag, it'll be interesting to see if there's anyone out there who could beat your scorcher!

which photo are u supposed to take, the picture of the screen that mister weary has above, or the picture of the records screen?

I assumed it was the one I posted because otherwise you can't tell if you've used the car and settings they suggest? I guess it don't matter much though because if they ask for the replay then you could just give them that anyway. Have they contacted you at all holl01?

I think the comp is finished now...that sucks! Your time was awesome holl01, I would have just sent them your replay file and said you didn't have the camera, they could have verified it themselves. It will be interesting to see what time the winner gets, I bet it's more than 7'08!!!!

By gosh you are right!!! Well you have to send them your time man, do you want me to take some photos of the replay and send them to you? Screens like the opening one and the closing one?

1) 7'17.478

Challenge 2: Any car in Any mode
1) 5'00.212 (Toyota GT-One)
2) 5'07.728 (Nissan R89C)
3) 5'17.938 (Formula Gran Turismo)

5) 5'28.163 (Toyota 88C-V)

Even I could get in the top 5 for both, you ought to take the Minolta out for a spin as well and take down both challenges :)

cool, yeah, i took the minolta out for a spin 3 months ago, and i did a 4'53.659 in it with ds2

i still have no way of taking a damn picture of the screen, and i better hurry up and do so, cos its closing in 4 days, i may have borrow a digital camera from the broadmeadows library and take it that way, either way, i will get my times in by the deadline

oh, btw, i'm not gonna submit that dirty 7'07.978 time, i'm gonna have another go and this time do it 100% clean, then take a picture of the screen. i reckon a 7'12 time will be achiavable, once i do that i'll post a replay and also post a replay 4 the minolta time
 
I wonder if they show the times in the issue out tomorrow. I wont be able to see by Friday, even though I'm subscribed.

The times I listed above are from the current mag, I got it today.

No prob, they weren't the best quality but they ought to prove you've hosed the competition :) Be cool to see your name in the mag, surely no one is gonna come near your time. If you need me to take some shots of your time in the Minolta just send me the replay.

heres the replay in x-port form (if u need to change it to .max file, theres a program u can use)

4'55.198
made a huge mistake in two places where wall touches were made but they only lost me time, no gaining
