Begging your pardon? I notice when done up Skylines and Supras go past people avert their eyes.

Wierdos :sly: If I wanted to watch a Lancer blasting in the redline I'll watch Fast and Furious. :sly:

the VK is the best commodore out
Bah, that car was an abortion!! VH was the best style of the lot. How can you go against these........

The VL Turbo comes a close second, just because it's Nissan powered.....RB30 > 5.0L. :p

Mafs!!

Get your priorities sorted Mafs :p
There all equal in my mind, but this one might be poking its nose out in front just a little

Only thing good in that is the LS2 and the only thing they're good for is sticking radar units and police stickers on the side watching Rexy's and Evo's get away.

They should re-create the Torana in my opinion but not base it on the Commodore. Something RWD, Astra Sized (1200kg MAX!!), with the 3.6L V6 w/190Kw.

*added bit* Actually, you're right. They are all the same.......all boat anchors!! :p

The E series HSVs can beat those tiny little RC cars you call Evos and WRXs, maybe not the Maloo, because of the weight distribution but the GTS easily. The Z series could beat Evos and hammer Rexes, but here's the big difference see, the new HSVs got better, the new Evo and WRX got worse :p I admit they need to weigh less though :( Stupid government and their stupid safety laws.

There's a good chance of torana revival in the upcoming Alpha platform, around the same size as TT36 Torana Concept as pictured.

VH SL/E isn't bad. The nosejob and rims on the Brocky GrpIII... Bleh.

If you want a fast 'ute, look no further:

I would rather watch old BMW's than these australian oddities. I also have huge dislike anything ford-related thanks to my not-so happy ownership of one ford that I've already sent forward.

What the hell happened to this thread? I was going to make another point about GT4's popularity, but it seems that isn't even what anyone's talking about anymore.

It's a Maloo!! That bad boy's coming to America as a new El Camino!

I love those Falcon Utes!

I have yet so see a bad looking Australian Car. Holden makes some great stuff, at least from the news that comes stateside.

Thank the Australian govt. for that reason. ;) Our ADM versions of Evo's & Rexy's are shallow shells of their JDM sister cars. :) Think about it....why else would OUR Evo be THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD with less than 200Kw on offer?? The claim is fuel, but that is BS. Same with STi. We got the 2.5L version and they still kept it to only 195Kw. There's a reason for this....it's so we don't have another generation of ram raiders getting away from cops. :)

I admit they need to weigh less though :( Stupid government and their stupid safety laws.
Yeah, an MR Evo and RA Spec STi would go well here.....atleast we still have the import laws so we can still get the JDM versions. :)

That picture was from an OLD OLD motorshow.....I remember seeing it in the flesh over 5yrs ago now!!

OMG!

Seriously get your own thread or PM each other. This is the most off topic I've ever seen a thread get. Ever.

True I entered the thead on page 7 and was just like.... WTF?!?

Anyways of course GT4 is gonna die off with GT5 round the corner but at the moment im playing GT4 for the first time in a year due to my xbox lasting all of 20 minutes before it overheats :yuck:

I know the TT36 is old, I was using it to demonstrate the size of what a new Torana will probably be. MustangGT90210, I think you're a little optimistic, you'll be getting the SS Ute, not quite the Maloo, and it'll more than likely be a Pontiac, not an El Camino, still a great ute though!
GT4 has sort of lost its edge now, but whenever you go over to GT5P Forums the level of intelligence doesn't seem that high, and the threads I couldn't care less for, keep soldiering on with GT4.

My Fix Or Repair Daily was Taunus/Cortina'82. RWD, coupe, red, looked somewhat nice in the boxy 80's way.. too bad that the engine drank as much as Audi's 4.2l twinturbo V8 and delivered about one eight of it's performance.. after all, it was 1.6l OHC that was supposed to have about 70 horses from factory had to move a chassis that weighs as much as C6 Corvette (1400kgish).. before I was born. it topped out at respectable.. erm..80 mph.. an the engine was screaming like banshee, despite the fact that 4th was an overgear.. even 60 mph was like torturing a lawnmover.. so, no more fords for me.

Wow, that's quite a time gap. It's presently 10 PM here in California. Either way, I thought a post by Greycap was a post by you ("Huzzah! Leo's doing a Quattro!"), so I guess we're even.

I think.

Perhaps, now Greycap has to slip up... Can you help us with that?

YOU FIEND! It's been edited, but it doesn't say so! Teach me please!

EDIT: Oh, I see. Nevermind. Hmmm... I never knew that, if you didn't put in a reason, it doesn't show.

Should have found a wrecked Elan for an engine swap! The Ford/Lotus 1.6L debuted in the Elan, in a twin-cam Cosworth-massaged version. Although I guess it was probably a good bit more time- and cost-effective just to junk it :sly:

If the SS is the "tuned down" Maloo, then you are right. We are getting a version of the Maloo. Kinda like how we can get a Mustang or Mustang GT. The Maloo must be like the GT for this analogy. That or the Maloo is just the HSV version of the SS you are talking about. I know it will be that ute, though. Anyway, I know straight from Chevy's press releases that that ute is coming over to be the next El Camino

I love what Gods Mistake is bring to us.

There's what will be the 2008/2009 Saturn Astra XR. It looks awesome, but apparently she is tuned for europe still, so a little tweaking in 2nd and 3rd gear may be nessesary, according to Inside Line
07.holden.astra.hsv.act.f34.1.500.jpg

That would be the HSV Astra, most likely going to be the Saturn Astra RedLine

Hmm...

Sounds like my Vega, except I've got a stock rating of 88hp from 2.3 liters, a 3-speed slushbox, and no way in heck should your car have weighed 1400kg... Unless the Cortina ballooned into a midsize car by 1982...

I still doubt that you will get a Maloo, and I wouldn't quite say that the Maloo is the "GT", the SS is the "GT". SV6 is the normal sporty V6 model, then Omega is the base model for tradies. HSV is to Holden what AMG is to Merc, M division is to BMW and FPV is to Ford Australia. It's almost a different brand in that sense but they are one in the same. I'm almost sure that you're getting it as a Pontiac G8 ST (Sport Truck). How old is your press release you read?

Oh, as for the HSV astra, best looking hot hatch out I think :sly: and second best performing out of the FFs.

Edit: You can pick out each model of VE Ute in this pic, you're likely getting the green one up front.

It was about a 3 month old press release. I just read last night now they think they are brining it over to be a G8 Ute. Oh the world of American journalism...

Heck, GM hasn't really made an American car lately, they're just (finally) importing their models from Europe(Astra) and Australia (Commodore Ute, Monaro, Astra). That's makin' me happy. All I read these days is you aussies and your big fast V8's.

How much is gas down under?

Also, Maybe all the utes in that picture are VEs?
