Well said, Ajrichar! (Re: This Post)

If we were to have Aussie cars, the Phase III should definitely be in there. Even though I'm a Holden man, there's no denying the history of the Phase III. The Torana is definitely a close second as that probably holds the most "attainable" history (seeing as the Phase III is too rare to really have).

Valiant Charger is great too, but I dunno, I don't see that much in it, other than the "Hey, Charger!" ad, haha... What about a Leyland? I'm sure they wouldn't be hard to make Standard, the horrible "blocky" models of the Standards would work perfectly! :)

I reckon we need the VL Group A (aka Brock Special), that's an awesome car! Paint it in the old HDT colours and let us loose on the Mountain!

But, I think we need some new representation too, my vote is - without a doubt - for the "Holden Special Vehicles Clubsport R8 by Walkinshaw Performance" aka "The Superclubby" (Start from 0:34)

I think we're asking for a bit much when we ask that all these are made premium, but it wouldn't be that difficult for some Standards, now would it? Of course, the Phase III would simply have to be a premium, but, that's nitpicking, I'd be happy with just ANY Australian representation that isn't copy/paste from old games.

OH MY GOD! I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW.

I was just swapping to my Commodore and was looking at both it and my Monaro in my Favourites list... Then I noticed something... The Commodore has 342HP/5500rpm and weighs 1658kg... The Monaro has 342HP/5500rpm and weighs 1658kg...

YEP. THEY'RE NOT EVEN UNIQUE. THEY HAVE THE EXACT SAME PHYSICS MODEL APPLIED TO EACHOTHER.

...Just a different body model. They're the same car on paper. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.

Not unique? For all intents and purposes the Monaro CV8 and Commodore SS are 2door and 4door variations of the same chassis respectively. Same wheelbase same track width different styling.

As for those wishing to drive the phase III, including myself, is again a derivative of the 60s Mustang chassis so looking at the master car list there is a Shelby GT350 in the list which apart from having the smaller, lighter, less powerful 289 Windsor (351 Cleveland in the GTHO phIII) should have similar handling.

There is still Bathurst in rFactor with awesome modelling of V8 Supercars and the old production cars from the 60s 70s until some DLC comes along. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Also I wouldn't say the game is heavily influenced by the EU market juding by the amount of Japanese cars represented in the game. Mazda gets 12 versions of MX-5 as does the Corvette, Honda/Acura gets 29 NSXs and Nissan has over 40 skylines.

Another Aussie checking in. Got GT5 Sig Edition on release day, but have not had a lot of time to play yet. Only working my way through the licenses so far.

The Monaro is nothing like the Commodore. Simplistically sure they're similar, but when you get down to it, there is a world of difference, especially in the history (but that's irrelevant in the current car, so I wont dwell on that).

...and besides, my point still stands, it is the same physics model, it is a lazy copy/paste from PD from one car to the other, it isn't because they're the "same car", it is just a copy/paste.

...and I don't care about rFactor, or Live for Speed, or any of those other games, they're boring and don't hold up to the "fun" of Gran Turismo, or the fan-base.

Of course GT5 has a lot of Japanese content, essentially, it's an Eastern Game, it has not been Westernized much. But Kaz's love for cars should surely see him wanting some Aussie cars, I guess he's just never been introduced to any.

Another aussie checking in too, call me "un-australian" but it doesnt bother me the about the lack of aussie cars in the game, i probably would'nt use them anyway.

Hi from another aussie.

Looking out for a VY SS, as I already had a 700hp monaro. It does a mean power slide :)

Yeah, I've noticed the Monaro (and ergo, the Commodore, cause they're the same) do some really awesome drifts and are quite easy to control :)

i wouldnt mind seeing an old classic holdens or fords
maybe the holden efijy as a DLC(that would be sweet)

but other than that i hate holden and ford their are very very few cars that are truely classed to be called australian from ford or holden

Honestly, I'd race Bathurst more than the Ring.... just so many good memories, plus I actually like the track better. Nurburgring just seems too long. Bathurst is perfect length for mine, you can actually get up some decent consistency.

A modern V8 Supercar would go hand in hand with Bathurst of course.

Not from Australia, I live in the US, but I just wanted to mention that I'd love to see Bathurst in GT as well. I own a 3rd gen RX-7, and therefore I consider myself a Bathurst fan. :)

Aussie here and im so down for a Aussie carpack in the future PD, More Fords more Holdens and a bunch of Supercars with livery packs. Bring it PD, i will put my money on the table for a V8SuperCars pack.

Love Bathurst. Would have loved to have it in the game, but it wasn't to be.

Got an unmodded and undriven Monaro in my garage...which I got...well...out of blind patriotism frankly.

So guys to change the subject here from the wishlists what have you guys been able to get timewise around the Top Gear Test Track in these two aussie icons?

Interesing to see if these two cars do perform exactly the same ingame.

I concur with GTP_V8SuperCars, I would be happy to cough up some extra cash for a small update including a Car and track from areas of the world not represented in GT.

I'm VERY impressed at the level of support this thread has gotten so far, I'm also impressed at the level of maturity shown..with very few unnessary comments.;)👍

Hey guys, I too would love to see Bathurst and/or Adelaide in there. I am a Ford man but some classics and the new models would be nice. I know a few American's that love our cars, one wants an FPV GT real bad!

Totally agree, though I think we're asking for a bit much if we want full on DLC with Holdens and Fords (both past and present), plus V8 Supercars, PLUS Bathurst... I mean, as much as I'd love it... It's just not gonna happen :(

Though, I'll second the point of putting money on the table. Kaz would have my money (plus A LOT of other Aussies and many more non-Aussies).

Yep, this thread is doing really nicely, there's a lot more Aussies (and Aussie support) here than I thought.

Really interesting idea there, I might go do that. Though I'm going to speculate and say any differences in time is driver inconsistency.

Just thought - the VL Walkinshaw would also be an interesting car to be added. Very unusual and certainly not a shrinking violet.

I'm an R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R fan but I would still like to see some Aussie Fords and Holdens in the game (apart from the Monaro and SS Commodore). Variety makes the game more interesting and adds longevity.

Phase 3 and 4 were pretty monumental cars, phase 4 mainly because there was only 4 ever made and is widely agreed the most significant car ford has made(except the model T lol)i... "to fast for the streets" changed the way production cars were allowed to be made, 40 years later until they made a production car with the same power (now with abs, traction ctrl, airbags, independent rear and other safety crap). And also has a bit of political drama to boot for good reading. Also a9x,ht monaro and rs500 would be nice to see. Would make for some awesome online races with the r32's.. Would bring back the good old days of when bathurst was fun to watch.

I wouldnt care if there werent any australian cars. The modern cars are maybe a bit like AMG cars, heavy and powerful but just not as good. The classic cars might be classic but you would drive it for 5mins and just keep it in you garage. It wouldnt be competative to put into any races. There are lots of way cooler and higher performance classic cars in GT5.

If Australia actually had a sports car I might get a little more excited about the idea.

Bolwell Nagari? Joss? Elfin?

Winfield GT-R? Obviously a Japanese car but developed in Australia and probably the fastest R32 race car in the world at the time. So fast in fact that Nismo wouldn't allow Gibson Motorsport to export their products to Japan purely because their car was more powerful than anything they were offering.

Changed the face of Australian touring car racing and brought about the name "Godzilla" (albeit the road going version, but the hype around the race car contributed to its reputation).

Definitely worth scrapping five Miatas for this car to be included
