Hmm how long does Bruno have to decide whether he's staying at BMW, cos thats the seat i'd like, otherwise i'd like to join Ashley at Honda

Well he's pretty active on the thread so I don't think he'd be too long. However that Honda seat will be gone quick I reckon..

Hmm. Season 8 will be the first time I re-use a car (and teammate!).

Only, this time, things are going to be different. I'm not going to get P12.

First time I'll be in a team that didn't finish in the top four in real life... *gulp*

Keller signs with Toyota

The somewhat less than appealing rookie, Matthew Keller, has signed with Toyota for season eight. After a less than promising Seson 7, Keller was chosen in the lottery to be separated from his orginal teammate. This comes in conjuntion with the entire Midland team leaving the F1 circuit the team is now know as Spyker. Keller's teammate, Bram Machiels, has yet to comment on his teammate.

:(

Not this Season either, Bram.

Edit:Hmm Steven wants to be part again. Anyone actually want him in?

Done and done. :)

Story from the future time!! :dunce:

Scott Woodwiss Spotted At Winter Testing

Ex-Toyota driver Scott Woodwiss was today at the Winter Testing session held at Jerez as a guest of Honda. He spent most of his time in the pit garage of Ashley Butler as he took a look at the current generation of cars.

"I'm just here as a guest of Honda, it was very nice of them to invite me over. I've been impressed by the car's pace but more than anything it's engine is incredible. I'd love to race one once again."

Scott may be in the running for a seat at Honda's sister team, Super Aguri, but nothing has yet to be confirmed.

Oh bugger.

:ouch:

Danny Graham Absent for Season due to Hurt Feelings

Danny Graham of Toyota F1 has announced he is to be absent for the season,
due to a man saying something mean about him.
Danny would like to extend his apology to Bram Machiels, whom he also wishes good luck for the following season.

Danny hopes to have recovered by the end of the season and hopes a team will be willing to take him on after nearly a year away from the wheel.

👍

It's a nightmare without you at Toyota buddy, my new teammate is, well, a..a, newb! n00b!

Oh well, we'll surely see you back next season Danny, I can't wait 👍

:ouch:

Machiels confirmed, though skeptical towards next season

After Toyota's big boss, Tsutomu Tomita, signed a contract with Keller, it looks like Machiels will once again, stay at Japan's giant. However, Machiels has not yet expressed his opinions towards Keller's arrival. For Machiels, this move came up unexpected, as he was looking forward to re-unite with Danny Graham, a duo which surprised everyone in season 6. "I can't say anything yet, sorry..." (Walks off)

Will these two drivers ever be re-united?

Graham Signed by Scuderia Toro Rosso

Danny Graham raised a few eyebrows in the Formula 1 scene today, as he announced that he would drive with Toro Rosso for Season 8. This news comes in spite of the fact that Graham has strong ties with Toyota's F1 team, and in particular his then-teammate Bram Machiels. Graham has expressed that he would like to reunite with Bram in the future, however.
His new team, Toro Rosso, the "still-flaming carcass of Minardi" is an inevitable step down in pace from the Toyota car, however with Simon Trendell as a likely cadidate for teammate, can they keep pace with the rest of the field?

Machiels releases opinions

After a little while, Machiels then finally said some words on the quite surprising moves this season. Belgian Motorsport reporter, Jan Lammens, was very quick to interview the young in Norway living Belgian:

Bram, you reacted quite...dissapointed?

Well, dissapointed is a big word, but it was a kind of a little shock when I got to hear Danny will not return in the little club next season. I was looking forward to get back in the car and work together on the car with him like last season.

So, did you guys had that much fun?

Well, first of all, it was that what led us to the fact we were the revelation of the season last year. You know, sometimes, mostly at the beginning of the season, we used conversations like these: Whenever I was done running my laps, putting all the info into Danny's car so he could go out and work further on it, he used to come back saying "We're going to smash and bash them Hondas!" Then we'd look to each other very seriously for a second and then just crack up. The sphere in and around the team is what you could compare with a team winning every race...It was also that what led us to that sudden "rise" Whe...

Sorry to interrupt you, but what "rise" are you talking about?

Imola, we were doing really good the whole weekend, untill I finished the race 4th, that was a magnificent moment for the team, from that moment, we knew we could expect some more of that sort results.

And you did, didn't you?

Yes, indeed. Just an example was Monaco, although we didn't win, everyone was quite astonished about the lap times we achieved during the race. And on top of it all, the pole in Hungary and Danny's win, was just top-notch teamwork. Just to let you know, that evening, when Danny won, he rubbed his naked butt against the Honda!

Onto now, Matthew Keller

Yes, a big question mark actually, he is a rookie but that certainly is not a reason to write him off and send him home. As I've said, I'm very skeptical, but we'll see after the first half of the season if we can work together or not.

Which you couldn't, can't or won't can with Bathie?

Exactly!

But then, he scored more points then you...

Yes...

Are you maybe the problem? Are you maybe hard and difficult to work with?

:D

No seriously, I don't know. I gave him all my data, but from the moment Tomita said he was holding back info for me so I was the one who couldn't get any new data, I just gave up on him.

Why?

Well, how would you feel if you're teammate romps 2nd, looks arrogant at you, knowing that he held back his data?

Hmmmm, got a point there...

Offcourse!

How are your plans for the future?

I don't know, if I don't get the chance to re-unite with Danny, I might leave Toyota and look for a team which can place us both back together...

So, are you saying you place teamwork in front of the Wold Title?!

Yes, exactly. I think it's more important to have fun in F1, get along with the whole team, instead of being hated by the team, accusing the team of every mistaken you made.

Well, the best of luck!

Interview with Scott Woodwiss, ex-Toyota driver

So Scott, what's your reason for coming to Jerez?
Well Ashley, a very good friend of mine, called me up and asked whether I wanted to come down to the winter test as a guest of Honda. So I agreed and, well, here I am!

How are you finding it?
It's great to be back in an F1 pitlane again. I mean, the sound and the atmosphere is just as great as it was when I was racing for Toyota. It's really nice to have this oppurtunity to come down here and experience it again.

Now, there have been rumours abound that you might be looking to make a return to F1. Can you comment?
I can honestly say it's been on my mind for a few months now, but yes I would like to make a return to F1, and if possible with Honda. I would love to race alongside Ashley since we are such good friends.

So, is there any chance we could see you next season?
Unfortunately, I'm unable to find any time next season to get a seat. I have commitments with Stone Brothers Racing in the Australian V8 Supercars, so I'd be unable to compete next season.

Will you still keep a close eye on that seat at Honda?
Yes, I will. If I plan to make a return, I plan to make it for Season 9. Until then, I hope to be involved in some form of testing role. That may hopefully help me obtain a race seat for Season 9.

Who do you think has impressed this season and will do next season as well?
I think Mclaren have impressed this season with Brad and Bruce, and the introduction of a woman driver next season should be interesting. Also, Renault and Ferrari have done well, as have the likes of BMW and even Super Aguri, who I believe have scored a couple of points. But naturally, I wish Honda the best of luck for the rest of this season and for next season.

Finally, how's it going in the V8 Supercars?
It's going well. Our team has won a few races, and most recently my teammate Tony Garbage won the first 2 races at Winton, and we've been battling with the Toll HSV Dealer Team mostly. Our goal is Bathurst, as it offers the most points and is such a great track.

**** ***** **** *** ****!!!!!!!

Indeed. Pole position on the grid to dead last on the first lap.

Woodwiss takes 3rd driver spot at Honda in S8

Honda confirmed alongside their 2 race drivers today that Scott Woodwiss will be taking the test driver role at the team. Recently he has raced in GP2 and the Formula Renault series' after disappointing results in his last attempt in the F1 circus with Toyota. He is currently participating in the V8 supercars in Australia.

"I think it will be a good opportunity for me to work alongside 2 hugely experianced drivers, especially Guillaume who has had championship winning experiance with Williams."

Honda say that their decision is based on the fact that he has a lot of potential for a race drive but he has a lot to learn, a spokesperson for Honda had this to say:

"We based our decision not just on the ability to perform as a 3rd driver but the fact that there is huge potential there when, and if, the time comes for Scott to take a race driver, at the moment we feel he needs more time with the car and to build more experiance, placing him with Ashley and Guillaume will certainly help him a lot."

This also ends speculation of Scott joining the Super Aguri team for S8.
