Super Aguri Rules!!

ag1vi1.jpg

As you can see, the Aguris set the 6 fastest laps during qualifying. No ones fast lap was even as fast as our slowest laps! DOMINATED!

How are the standings in there? I remember Dani Silva in his Ferrari and he was fast as hell!

Woodwiss takes 3rd driver spot at Honda in S8

Honda confirmed alongside their 2 race drivers today that Scott Woodwiss will be taking the test driver role at the team. Recently he has raced in GP2 and the Formula Renault series' after disappointing results in his last attempt in the F1 circus with Toyota. He is currently participating in the V8 supercars in Australia.

"I think it will be a good opportunity for me to work alongside 2 hugely experianced drivers, especially Guillaume who has had championship winning experiance with Williams."

Honda say that their decision is based on the fact that he has a lot of potential for a race drive but he has a lot to learn, a spokesperson for Honda had this to say:

"We based our decision not just on the ability to perform as a 3rd driver but the fact that there is huge potential there when, and if, the time comes for Scott to take a race driver, at the moment we feel he needs more time with the car and to build more experiance, placing him with Ashley and Guillaume will certainly help him a lot."

This also ends speculation of Scott joining the Super Aguri team for S8.
Well, my 3rd driver training has started well. How about qualifying 3rd for Silverstone?

Ah good race for me, very good infact. :)
That race TOTALLY SUCKED.

Had my first DNF in nine races. That's probably a record for races between DNF's for me... I always DNF more often than that.

More damagingly, Brad lost driver's lead. :|

Does anyone fancy making "Team GTP" with me in a private champcar game?

If I had a free private slot, I'd definitely join you, Lee.

But no KT, GTP F1, GTP V8's and all...

Bye Bye..
Ashley Butler (56 Points, 2 Weeks in Power 10)
Herman Chang (53 Points, 3 Weeks in Power 10)

Big Winners: Suzzie Taylor - Showing how this league rewards consistancy by placing 3rd although her best result from the past 5 races is a 4th. Bram Machiels - In the same boat, consistancy paying off with a jump to 4th.
Big Loser: Luke Mason - Tipped to go top of the Power 10 by many after Week 3, a DNF has instead seen the Aussie drop down 6 places.
Final Thought: Start of a McLaren freefall?

I've looked but I can't see it. Do you have a post number please Blayke?

The Power 10 rates the top ten most consistant drivers from the past 5 races, high positions don't always mean high rankings in this, as you can see with Blake's position.

Ah gotcha. I wondered if it was just a straight points table at first.

CCYoshi's 'Double Trouble' Race Reports: Hockenheim and Hungaroring

Point Scorers:
10: Paajanen, Midland (Took home the win at Hockenheim rather dominantly, but failed to impress in Hungary.)
10: Haswell, Renault (Collision ruined race and continued free fall in Germany, but gets back on track with an absolute runaway win at Hungaroring.)
8: Davidson, Honda (Went spinning in the rain at Hockenheim, but managed to finish rather comfortably on the podium in the 2nd race.)
8: Kawasie, Super Aguri (Had an exciting race in Germany after colliding on the first lap, pitting 4 times but still taking 2nd! However more unscheduled pitstops ruined his race.)
8: Machiels, Toyota (Scored in both races, one of only two to do so. Neither race was rather eventful, but a 6th and a 4th are nothing to complain about.)
7: Domingues, BMW (Taken out of the lead by force in Germany but chased back to a podium, and overcame more issues in Hungary to grab one more point. )
6: Beyens, Ferrari (Wrecked on the last lap at Germany, dropping from 4th! Managed to survive mroe collisions in Hungary to score a podium.)
5: Taylor, Williams (A pretty unexciting race both times, although one was quite better than the other.)
4: Butler, Williams (Came home right behind Taylor in the first race, and retired quick in the second.)
4: Dubois, Aguri (Miserable Germany race but a good quali in Hungary helped him score some points.)
3: Whitcomb, Renault (Extremely mediocre in both races. Where is Renault's domination?)
2: Keller, Midland (Many mistakes in Germany, but still scored two points. No mistakes in Hungary, took home a goose egg.)
1: McLaren, McLaren (McLaren, both driver and team, seem to be getting extremely unreliable as of late. He barely clawed to a point in Germany, and couldn't finish in Hungary.)
1: Hutchinson, Ferrari (Neither race good to write home about. Rather lackluster season for Ferrari.)

Casualty Count:
Horton (Hockenheim 1): Good start until he got torpedoed by Kawasie.
Smith (Hockenheim 9): Bloodshed continued as Mason tried a little too hard to get by him, spinning the Midland off into the barriers.
Orchard (Hockenheim 48): Had a few moments in the points before making a bobble at turn one that somehow destroyed his engine the next lap. Isn't technology great?
Bathie (Hockenheim 53): Also had moments in the point spotlight before jumping a curb at the first turn and beaching it.
Davidson (Hockenheim 62): Another one bites the dust at turn one.
Beyens (Hockenehim Final): With the end in sight, lost concentration momentarily and parked the car backwards, in the wall from 4th.
Butler (Hungaroring 27): Throttle cable broke or something and car refused to budge. Not much to do then!
McLaren (Hungaroring 54): Running a unusually mediocre race when he locked up the tires and catapulted into the sand.
Mason (Hungaroring 67): Got the door literally slammed in his face when trying to pass a Ferrari, with the resulting front-end damage knocking him out of the race.

Consistency Award:
Only two drivers were able to score points in both races, and neither were particularly big scores. Nobody averaged more than 5 points over both races! No wonder the championship is so close.

Defining Moment: Beyens retiring, Hockenheim Last Lap
Remember season 6? When he took home the championship? What has happened since? He's only got 15 points and tossed away 4 more recently. Sometimes things just don't work out...

3: Whitcomb, Renault (Extremely mediocre in both races. Where is Renault's domination?)

Wha...? I had second place wrapped up in Hungary...I'm having a terribly unlucky season. Of course, using wet tires in dry qualifying twice in a row a few races back didn't help.

Oh well, just call me Giancarlo. :dunce:

Another pole for Toyota, nice 👍

Strong quali for Ferrari as well, let's hope I got the good strategy 👍
