Well I think the game sucks now. The map is played out for me. It's too hard to win against a decent team.
I think I'm just burned out.
I have the 360 version.

Yup having only 1 map with no vehicles does get boring quick after a couple hours even if you are winning. They need another map and one with vehicles badly otherwise this just feels too much like COD.

My friend gave me a beta code yesterday so last night I had a chance to play for a couple horus. It started out a bit rough and took about 10 minutes to get into a game. Typical EA disconnection issues. The first 2 games went very well, no lag, no problems at all. However there are quite a few spots outside where people would just fall right through the map. Especially over by the water and by the walkway that goes over the water. I didnt see this happen in the subway tunnel system but it happened quite a bit outside.

Overall I had a great time with the game especialy after I unlocked some better scopes for my guns and learned the map. I like to heal people so I was the support or medic most of the time. Hopefully they will release another map with vehicles to truly show off what this game can do. Because this 1 map gets boring quick. I do like how they instantly put you into a squad. And if you can get into a squad that communicates really well, then the game is a lot of fun.

I am still trying to decide if I want to buy or just rent this. I was going to buy it but I am not sure what I want to do now.

OMG ITS AMAZING, but the ps3 is too weak to handle the amazing graphics of the game, but the gameplay is just amazing

My thoughts.

Very buggy for me [although, this is to be expected being a beta :p]. Flickering gets very annoying for me, and it seems that I get shot, live for a bit longer not being able to fire or move, and then die. Could just be connection lag on my part, but other parts seem fine.

Coming from MW2 to Bad Company 2 and now this, I find it hard to actually find people on the enemy team  I guess I'm just not used to the lack of markers on the enemy team at all times when in sight like in MW2.

Firing mechanics are the most satisfying I've used. I love how you can't just unload an entire clip into someone without lifting off the trigger and expecting to stay accurate. Me being absolute rubbish, it's such a great feeling when you do get a kill :p

Teamwork seems to play a much larger role than anything I've played before. I'm still getting used to helping the team out rather than just playing my own game.

The graphics are nice on the PS3. Can't really say much here not having seen what the Xbox and PC versions look like, and that I'm playing on a 12" CRT screen

Overall, it's a very fun game to play once you get the hang of it, and, in my opinion, is much more satisfying than any CoD game to play.

Well I've been playing the pc one for 2 days and got to try out the 360 version today. This is really the first game I have ever got to compare the pc vs consoles version of any game. It was actually hard to even look at the screen while playing the xbox version. My eyes felt very strained trying to focus on anything. I really couldn't believe the difference. It's very, very hazy and out of focus looking compared to the pc. Even the colors were much different. The xbox seemed really washed out and dull looking. I can't believe the difference in the 2 versions. I had no idea that pc games were this much better looking. Even on the minimum pc settings the game is still way ahead of where the consoles are. This game just verified to me that it is time for the next console upgrade. I should add that i was playing both games on the same screen, and both at a 1080P setting.

It did feel really good though, and I'm actually much better at aiming on the xbox then the pc. I'm still trying to get a feel for pc shooters, and it's going to take me awhile. This is my first one in probably 15 years, and I am very rusty. But as far as graphics go, it's going to be really hard for me to play the xbox version with my buddies after getting a taste for the pc version. Hopefully I can talk a few more of them into upgrading their graphics cards and moving to the pc.

This is what I'm afraid of... If the difference is as huge as you say then I'm finally going to invest in a good gaming PC very very soon :D

I think currently the 360 has the graphics turned down from what they will be, same with the PS3.

Anyway, how do you change the fire mode on the weapons? i.e. full-auto, burst, semi-auto

Nope. This is my 12th beta and what you see in the beta is what you will see in the final game. No miracle graphic upgrade. This is it. A game this big will obviously be MUCH better on the PC. So if you have a PC rig that can run BF3, get it on the PC.

Downloading the PS3 beta now.

Never actually played BF before, so it'll be my first experience of the franchise. Can't wait!

Kinda' annyoing. I think it looks worse than BC2 on 360.

It's the right arrow on the pad. Look down bottom-right of screen and you'll see it switch between single fire and rapid/auto/OMGLOADS!.

This Tac Light. How? What? When? The lack of a pad layout is annoying.

I wouldnt go that far.

I think most of their graphical focus was directed toward the camapaign. I am really looking forward to the campaign, especially the co-op.

we need HQ mode :) hate having to unload a full clip into someone just to kill them :)

Damage is all over the place. The lead game designer already said this has ben greatly altered in the final product.

Actually he is right Camaro. Devs have stated numerous times through twitter and a couple European gaming sites that this a very old build and half the bugs we encounter are already fixed. I believe one dev went as far to say it's pre-alpha. But don't quote me on that last sentence.

Ok origin is down and PSN is down for maintenance. FML.

Edit: Oh FFS the it's down from 5pm till 9pm today.

Yay for XBL! :P

Just been reading that textures are lower on console betas to keep the download size small.

I was hoping to have it downloaded and installed so I could just hop on when I get off work. Nope. How big is the download then? I have a pretty good connection but limited hard drive space.

trying it for the first time and it hangs everytime I select Multiplayer on the main screen. Not sure if this is related to the psn maintenance but in any case I'm still logged in to the psn...

HOLY CRAP!! this game is incredible. forget about the map and other stuff, just the mechanics blew my mind. The guns recoil is insane.

The sounds when bullets hit stuff around you or blow right past your head is absolutely mindboggling! I thought they would never be able to trump the sound of BC2 which i consider has the best sounds in any game, any genre.

This game will be just insane!

That was quick.

Ive played it less than him and im beginning to feel the same way. Its not a dynamic map like caspian border would be.

Well pcs constantly improve (assuming you upgrade) while with the 360 its hardware is becoming ancient.

Love the game - hate the map.

Lots of buggy locations, too. Got stuck under grenade craters, under hills, and insude a locker! They should release Caspian Border...

More or less my thoughts so far.
