Dragonistic was mowing me down with his M60... so I threw a 'nade up his ass. :sly:

Good fun man, sorry I had to go so soon.

 15 kills, 0 movement. I pretty much single handedly put up a massive stop sign for the defenders trying to push up that road to try let my team attack the MCOMs, YOU SHALL NOT PASS. I knew I was dead when the RPGs and pro pipes started flying my way and I constantly had 2 laser sights on me at least and yet it was not until you lobbed a nade over that I was finally finished off. It was even worse in a game of Damavand rush earlier where I nailed well over 10 kills without releasing the trigger whilst defending an MCOM down the cliff.

The M60 is utter hilarity though, entertainment value 10/10 and on infantry based maps incredibly effective to. It's slow rate of fire means you can keep a constant death stream going for longer, and full auto is surprisingly stable even without a bipod if crouched and stationary but the bipod is the way to go.

Is there a reason you didn't have a sight on it?

A logical one? No, there is no good reason to not use another sight but it looks odd to me when an M60 has no front iron sight and red dot or something instead. A real rambo has no need for fancy optics. I'm the same with the L85, I don't use a holo or red dot even on smaller maps because it doesn't look right to me so I use a 3.4x/4x instead, I choose alot of my weapons on appearance and 'feel' instead of performance and then just make them work. Classic example is my recon weapons of choice, Mk11 MOD 0 with suppressor because the suppressor is more integrated instead of others and the M40 instead of the M98B because it is more traditional looking.

I just received an email from EA and I found out that the new DLC "Close Quarters" is going to be released on June 16th.

Is that for PS3 or PC/360?

I'm with you. I recently discovered the joy that is the M60 and already have my 500 kills with it. Pull the trigger and watch the kill feed roll. My favorite places to activate 'doom mode'... (Rush games, btw)

1) As a defender in Rush on Op. Metro, just after losing the first two Mcoms in the park run into the small narrow tunnel and lay down between the two openings that lead down below. This will help you survive grenades and rpgs that come from below when people start hating getting killed by you. Lie on the pipe and bipod up and nail them as they drop into the opening of the tunnel. For extra fun, C4 just inside the opening and detonate it if you start taking fire when you are caught reloading.

2) Defending on Seine crossing, first set of Mcoms, go right to B and hop onto the steel crate, box thing right next to the Mcom. Nail them as they try to come in the doorway. It's even better when you claymore the two doors behind you.

3) Still on Seine crossing, if you lose the first set of Mcoms, run into the building that looks down at the bridge and A and set up on the 3rd floor with a bipod on the windowsill. You can't actually see the Mcom but you'll get everyone going to it or trying to hide in the crate after they set it. I took out 15 guys here once before they Lav'd me out of there. As its a multistory building you can retreat to the second floor if the third floors starts getting too dangerous.

or...

If you're alive after losing the first two Mcoms retreat to the street before the bridges and beside the white van set your bipod up on the garbage can. They can't advance to the Mcoms without passing through your sights. Expect to see lots of RPGs and grenades after a while.

4) Attacking or defending on Damavand on the third set of Mcoms. Defend/attack B(? the one in the warehouse) by lying opposite the half open door on the side of the the warehouse protected by cement on one side and kind of hidden on the other by some grass and a steel pole. Bipod up and stare at the Mcom. People trying to arm/disarm it are yours. Singlehandedly wiped out an entire team that was trying desperately to disarm it.

5) Attacking on Seine crossing. If you can get through into the door leading to B run up the stairs to the second floor, claymore the stairs behind you, and set up on the windowsill looking down onto the A Mcom. Enemies going to disarm that Mcom are dead meat and anyone spawning and trying to enter the action from the side are right in your line of sight.

I never used support for the longest time because I didn't like the recoil on those guns. Now that I know where to put them and what they can do, I am having some great games. Best one so far 25-3 with an 18 kill streak.

Well, you guys made me pull out the M60 for the first time tonight on PC. First game 54-5 on Conquest LOL! I love that weapon.

Oh yeah that gun has really improved since the patch... Sadly the M249 has declined.. Has anyone else noticed that the guided shell has declined in power for taking down tanks... I never use it because i personally think that it takes no skill to use it.. I have noticed that i take out other people in tanks that are using it easier than before the patch... I personally think that the guide shell should not be able to target tanks or they should restrict the driver from being able to target tanks with out someone else in the 3rd seat to target other vehicles

^ Did you read the article?

In conclusion, a brand new 5-flag layout of Wake Island was settled upon for the console audience and was integrated into the latest patch.

Yes the console audience... I don't care about PC because I don't play on PC. I read in the article that they started with the PC version and adjusted it for console, in that sense you are correct. So yes, its new and redesigned for the consoles. Forgive me for not being clear enough in my first post. Next time I will explain in detail so theres no confusion.

Yesterday I only played 1 round (with theewar and dzidza), but what a round that was!

Yup, 164-31 , almost 97000 points overall (with ribbon and medal bonuses). I changed sides 3 times when "our" team was doing too good and almost 2 hour round finished with only 85 tickets difference. I like seine crossing CQ. :)

I also had a great run, even though I came to play late, but i was disconnected :-(. I should never enter my first game on servers with high tickets count, stupid me. But I guess, when I saw you online, I just couldn't resist LOL. Funny enough, game did save my progress, and I had to rejoin.

I was in a game yesterday and our team got spawn trapped really bad. Sucked so much I ended up leaving the game and I dont do that very often. Their team was loaded with engineers and they had someone that was insane in the tank. When I left he had 59 kills and only around 10 deaths in the tank. Our team was just full of idiots trying to snipe. Myself and my nephew were the only engineers. So we just didnt have a chance. We were on the map with the mountain in the middle. The tank stayed inside the tunnel just outside our base. Sucked. I HATE people that spawn kill. Just cowards. Pushing people back to their spawn is one thing but sending out team mates to attack each spawn point is just pathetic. I have never and will never spawn kill people in any game. FU to people that do that.

One a good note. Over the weekend I joined a server that had about 500 800 tickets. We were losing pretty bad when I joined. I usually NEVER mess with jets but someone actually killed me with one and that was it from that point foward. I took out at least 20 jets, 25 helicopters, and at least 15 tanks, not sure how many jeeps. I kept the skies empty the rest of the game. Destroyed EVERY air vehicle and we came back and ended up winning the game.
