Had a seriously average session tonight. Not gameplay wise, just game wise. 4.5 hours to play 4 full games, one of which was only 3 minutes long, more on that later. Froze 9 times total. 4 times on Bazaar, once on Metro, twice on Caspian, once on Tehran and again at Canals. Rebuilt database on my PS3 again which worked for approximately one round.

Did have one interesting round though. On the three base version of Sharqi, spawned as the assaulting team and I ran straight for C. My squadmates went to A and another went to B. Ran up the ladder at C, it was undefended, neutralised and captured by myself and went upstairs to check the rooftops as there were a couple guys up there according to the minimap. Got up there, and theres a guy standing in the doorway facing outwards. spray him, turn to the left around the corner there are three guys, switch to pistol, spray them all, get another who spawned on one of them. Went back behind the door thing, reloaded my main, and went out and got two more. 7 guys in about 15 seconds. Then we had all the bases and their whole team was dead. So we won.
Report.

Just went up from level 37 to 39 in one round (even though I missed the start).
Report here
When I joined my team was about 250 tickets in the lead and it stayed like that until will started to lose it with about 200 enemy tickets left. I think they had a few colonels that joined.

Yesterday I only played 1 round (with theewar and dzidza), but what a round that was!

Yup, 164-31 , almost 97000 points overall (with ribbon and medal bonuses). I changed sides 3 times when "our" team was doing too good and almost 2 hour round finished with only 85 tickets difference. I like seine crossing CQ. :)

1 hour 52 minutes on one map? Why?!

I honestly can't understand why people would want to play 1 map for so long, I tried to join someone recently (dzidza) and saw it was a 500 ticket server on Damavand, no thanks. On that note nobody bother inviting me if it's for a massive ticket marathon.

I agree. I dont like the games being THAT long. Especially if one of the teams is dominating. One of the games I joined yesterday was 1200 tickets??!!! I left. Which sucks because if you leave, you dont get anything for all the work while in that game. We need a filter option for the tickets unless I am missing something. Because I do not see the ticket count before I enter the game. A filter option would be perfect. Then you could filter it for the amount of tickets you want to play.

500/750 aren't to bad. Anymore than that can get very dragged out. My longest so far has been 1 hr 44 minutes on sienne. That map with high tickets gets very very long. But its fun ;)

The reason is that I just couldn't find a server that wasn't lagging or wasn't a spawn camp or wasn't so unbalanced that it was no fun (the case with Canals very often) or it wasn't Gulf of Oman/Strike at Karkand map which I can't play after the patch due to high probability of my PS3 locking up (very, very, very annoying!). Besides I got into that server through "quick game" menu and the whole time it was 10 (11) vs 10 (11), so I could switch teams if we capped out the enemy (which happened twice). The game easily could have ended 60 minutes earlier if I didn't switch, but after that I just said to myself "screw it, I'll go for my personal best!" (it wouldn't happen on any other level, Seine Crossing is the best, from my point of view, infantry based map, so it was fun turning tide of the battle. Twice. Plus extra time to check ALL the assault rifles after the patch;) ).

Speaking of weapons. After extensive testing (1 h 52 mins to be exact) My new loadouts for assault class are:

- small maps: AEK 971 (RDS + foregrip + flash suppressor) and M26 Mass/Dart - high but easily controllable rate of fire with shotgun attachment to sweep corridors

- big maps: AK74/L85/AN94 (RDS + underslung rail (AK74)/nothing (L85/AN94) + heavy barrel) and M26 Dart - great set up for longer distances

The biggest thing with the second set up is the small secret (or rather bug that wasn't noticed by DICE) with Heavy Barrel,M26 Dart and rifles with underslung rail. The secret is that Heavy Barrel works on M26!! It means that your M26 turns into the best shotgun of the game because of HB. The distance before damage drop off is extended to some crazy values plus the spread of pallettes is also reduced. The only downside is that I think people will catch on it quite fast and it'll be the new USAS with frag rounds (at least you need to have semi good aim to be very effective, but if you do it is very hard to counter).

I played a 1050 ticket Metro 24/7 server for one round last night. My team was the US side, and they only capture C at the beginning of the game. Then they proceed to get trapped in the base. I managed to get around the other team and make it all the way back to Alpha and take it for a few seconds. The team did nothing to try and capture any of the other flags, and once I got found it was right back to step one again. :ouch:

The M60 is utter hilarity though, entertainment value 10/10 and on infantry based maps incredibly effective to. It's slow rate of fire means you can keep a constant death stream going for longer, and full auto is surprisingly stable even without a bipod if crouched and stationary but the bipod is the way to go.

The changes to the M60 with the last patch has made the weapon much better. The M60 was already a good weapon deployed on a bipod. The recoil changes have made the weapon much easier to use engaging opponents while moving from objective to objective.

Anyone playing on PC?

I am on PC. Shoot me a PM if you want to add me.

A 500 ticket server is not too bad and is a very good number for tickets. The games end up lasting a bit longer, but typically not excessively long.

Thanks for this tip! I will have to try the combination out on the G3A3. Before you posted this, I just watched a video of the G3A3 with the combination, but I do not think any mention was made of the Heavy Barrel affecting the M26. I now need to re-watch (mostly to see if my hearing is going bad ) the video and see if something was said that I completely ignored.

Speaking of another example of spawn camping. What the heck is up with people renting a server that is TOTALLY unbalanced. My nephew and I joined a server and it was clearly one sided. We could not use mortars or anything and our team had none of the vehicles. Then when you spawn, the ENTIRE other team is sniping your spawn points from about 30 feet away. That was just rediculous. No way to escape at all. I guess thats the risk we take of joining random rented servers. I have found 2 that were really good so far and saved those. Is there a way to block a server or add to "disliked" server list?

Trying to get my nephew into this game and this does not help at all.

Text search -[DI and you'll get a list of official Dice servers and imitation names, check the server owner before jumping in and you'll be fine. Normal rules, but sometimes the map rotations aren't awesome on the official servers and sometimes you still get massively unbalanced games.

I hate how anything other than the Epic Battles get you a mix of CQ/Rush. I've not touched Karkand, Sharqi, Bazaar or Wake for ages. I hate changing of things that aren't broken, I should be able to filter official servers from rented ones without some half arsed text search.

BF3 is much like GT5, the gameplay is brilliant, but everything else is ill-thought and just doesn't work.

How do you text search on the 360?

ISucked. I HATE people that spawn kill. Just cowards. Pushing people back to their spawn is one thing but sending out team mates to attack each spawn point is just pathetic. I have never and will never spawn kill people in any game. FU to people that do that.

One a good note. Over the weekend I joined a server that had about 500 tickets. We were losing pretty bad when I joined. I usually NEVER mess with jets but someone actually killed me with one and that was it from that point foward. I took out at least 20 jets, 25 helicopters, and at least 15 tanks, not sure how many jeeps. I kept the skies empty the rest of the game. Destroyed EVERY air vehicle and we came back and ended up winning the game.

I disagree. BF is about beating the enemy. If I beat them so bad I beat them back to spawn, sucks to be them. Take your meds and get your revenge the next round.

If I get beaten back to spawn, sucks to be me. Your team was more cohesive and stronger and won out. I'll change that next round as far as I can.

People who think there is some sort of honour in not spawn camping are free to hold that view, but are deluded in my opinion. :indiff:. mrgeez at least switches to prolongue his matches, but people who are all "I refuse to spawn camp"...ok.

Also, taking out 60 vehicles in a 500 ticket match (not that long) seems quite a tall order. :odd:

Ill be on tonight around 10:30 est.
If general consensus wants me to drop the ticket count down from 300% ( 750) to either 200% or 100% I will.
Want to try to find a way to get more people on the server :(

Getting back into BF3 and had a decent night. Played a pretty epic Operation Metro/Grand Bazaar CQ server and I love Grand Bazaar. I had some epic battles in the alleyway, laying down suppressing fire and attempting to flank by looping round and coming in one of the side alleyways. There were a few terrible moments though, like when the other team put down a ton of ammo boxes and lobbed grenades at us for a few minutes, and when 2 idiots on my team managed to get a Humvee wedged on it's front, blocking one of the gates with an APC on it's back 2 wheels leaning next to the Humvee. Another idiot had also gotten a Vodnik wedged in the side alley and it had blown up, meaning half of the team was cut off from C which happened to be under attack.

Operation Metro, not so good... Had a few epic moments, such as when we'd pushed the enemy back to their base, and were trying to hold a defensive line, and when they pushed us back to our base, and me and my squad infiltrated the 2 buildings filled with campers next to A, all thanks to my trusty DAO-12. :D The next game unfourtanately comprised of campers pinning my team down at the subway entrance. I resorted to running in with C4 and blowing groups of campers and myself up (noobish, but it seems to work) which allowed a few people to break few, and I got a load of kills in the corridor (with guns) next to B, but I had to quit just as it was getting interesting... :grumpy:

Maybe to get it some air time, set it as a 24/7 Metro/ GB server when you arent using it so it appears more on people's playlists? Then when you use it and change it for GTP, it is likely to be on more peep's recent histories?

I don't feel like bothering with all that mess of figuring out which server has what options when searching for a game. I'm just been searching for dice servers each time I'm on.

Watching the USAS episode makes me want Dice to make a night version of Caspian. That would be so sweet.

Probably the worst positioned M-Com in the game. Another reason why I don't care for Rush.

Which one is yours, Daniel?

Yep that would be pretty cool. I wish they had the map support they had with Bad Company 2!

Rush sucks in BF3.

Another thing which sucks is Claymore's disappearing after death. I completely get not being able to blow up c4 after death, but mines stick around, deploy beacons stick around, TUGS stick around, so why the heck don't claymores.
