I might get this for the PS3 for single player, as my reactions suck and I would get murdered online. I'm used to playing Medal of Honor where I can sneak around and do things slowly. Even then, I still get shot 30 times in a level. :dunce:

Unlocked every thing for the A-91 too, I guess. Too bad the next Enginerd gun is so far away.

Omnis
They're stress-testing the servers to make sure no snags are hit with 128 players. Caspian border really feels like a completely different game than metro. I blew up 2 tanks at once by sneaking up on one and dumping c4 on it with my support class. I love doing that. Rockets are for geeky engineers with no cojones.

Yet another time i want to play badly i have two more days of work.

Yup but i got only laggy servers. try again tomorrow. map is cool.
Took the jet for a flight, was really nice

Has anyone been killed and it says something like "M9 tac" but it shows your killer and he has something like an SV98?

The guy who killed you probably switched weapons after he killed you.

Flying a jet with a mouse is terrible.

It is.
I set my old wired xbox controller beside me, and when I get in a jet or helicopter I use it instead, then switch back to the mouse for the ground work.

(Sorry about the low quality)

It looks remarkably similar to one of those Frontlines: Fuel of War maps, but bigger and with better design, And I think there is a Kamov Ka-60 Kasatka(MGS2 memories).

Looked like a pretty good map. I really wish they'd reveal a couple of the big conquest maps on console so we could get an idea of size on them.

Is the Caspian map available on the PS3?

Last night when I played nope.

And according to ign xbox 360 is shipping on 2 discs and ps3 on 1.

Apparently there is an option to install HD graphics on the hard drive of both systems :)

The ps3 I think will work, but it's not plug and play, and I think it's a real pain to get working.

The old wired 360 controllers work great. You just plug it in and your ready to go. I actually traded a wireless one for this one. I would like to have all wired controllers, because I am getting sick of all this battery charging, and 30$ packs going bad in 6 months.

The 360 one works great. You won't compete with people on the ground with guns. The pc has no aim assist like on consoles, and it is very apparent when you try to aim with the controller. I just set mine beside me, and pick it up when I go to the air.

DAO-12 shotty as primary , Magnum .44 as your secondary weapon plus some claymores (it seems people really like to run into them, CLICK!) for good measure and you are set for defending/attacking 2nd & 3rd base. Firepower from that loadout will keep you warm on long, dark and cold nights :)

I never use aim assist anyway. My buddy was telling me with BAD COMPANY 2 you had to use a "mouse delete" to get a controller to work. can anyone shed light on this?? I have a custom built tower for IRACING (and BF3) and I really wanna use a controller for BF3 for PC, even if I am at a "disadvantage".

I actually played Capison tonight at my buddies house. Bloody hard although really fun, too big. Even with 64 players.

We hooked up a PS3 controller to work and it worked well after a lot of messing around (probably not worth the trouble imo) but it made flying jets a LOT easier

thanks for the link. I prob give it a try later tonight.

maybe not, the BATHURST 1000 is on tonight

Ok so i finally got to try Caspian now....

I must say i´m absolutely mind-boggled :)
This is the REAL BATTLEFIELD!
Guys come in from every direction, some lunatics just blast in with a jeep and shoot at everything that moves, just incredible fun!

One minus was the ****** controls for Chopper and Jet.
I know the best experience is with a joystick but ARMA has done an incredible job for us with just a mouse. It feels 100% natural to fly in ARMA with the only exception of let´s say when you are turning, with a joystick it will turn all the time but with the mouse it will turn as long as you keep the mouse moving in that direction.

in BF3 it felt like complete **** to be honest and totally put me off for air vehicles... Wish they would have looked at ARMA and done the same thing as it´s a joy to fly in ARMA 2 OA.
Especially that little chopper which you can fly very close to the ground at high speed and just zap past trees and buildings.

What time? I forgot about that, I just watched phillip island yesterday

Anyways, a friend of mine used a joystick for flying in BF2 and switched to keyboard for infantry

Edit: it may have been battlefield 1943 because there were a bunch of DC-3's

Probably it was one of the BF2 mods(Forgotten hope II probably).

I played with aircrafts yesterday and I finally get the sense of dogfights, which happens to be pretty similar to the dogfights in 1942(due the lack of missiles), its nice to see that the area opens for dogfights, however I don't like how the helicopters fly, I got used a lot to the ones of BF2 and these ones fly differently but somehow not as they should.

I just resorted to snipe in Caspian Border, and my god did I snipe(in a 60 player match it was beautiful sniper fights, not too good for the people in the near the CP's though).

Haha loving Caspian. As hampus_dh said, this is the real Battlefield. Took me back to when I used to play BF2.

I havn't had issues with the jets and mouse, but the choppers are hard. I'm a very slow mover in the chopper. My first two experiences with them was when I hoped in as a gunner and both times my pilot took off and then straight into the ground :ouch: After that I vowed to only get in if I'm piloting the damn thing.

Maybe I'll watch some of the Bathurst race, too bad the Japanese GP in F1 at Suzuka on SPEED is at 2am Eastern Time :(
