Aha did not know that :sly:

Played on the flightserver yesterday evening and had alot of fun and got quite some flying done.

To quickly unlock chopper upgrades, capture flags using the chopper.
Best on a fairly quiet server.

I did just that last night. I played on two servers last night that were called Flight School. I unlocked quite a few things for two of the helicopters and a whole bunch of stuff for the tank.

I am still terrible at flying jets. Using a keyboard alone or a mouse and keyboard does not work at all for flying a jet. I cannot maintain any fluidity with either while flying a jet. Not being able to control the direction the jet is flying makes dogfighting effectively incredibly difficult. It probably does not help that I have played games on PC with a flight stick or games on console with a controller with a joystick, both of which are much better suited to flying a jet.

I am a bit better at flying a helicopter though. Keyboard and mouse seem to work pretty well, as the mouse is mostly just used for vertical pitch. It would be much easier to control with a joystick. With some more practice, I think I will be able to somewhat get the hang of flying a helicopter.

👍
And the jets are still not my cup of thee or coffee for that matter.

What your nick in game?
Maybe I shot you down
In the last two rounds there were 8 players on the server.

Got hit by a missile when I was flying a chopper yesterday, when I turned around the see what happened to the chopper I saw that it crash landed on the roof of a small shed.
Until it fell off and exploded.

Origin ID: BrettMoran23

I also managed to shoot down a helicopter with a Russian RPG. It took me three tries to dial in the drop for the rocket.

I do miss the chopper camera view from BF2 though.
The one where you only have the chopper HUD.
Crashed three times yesterday because I didn't see lampposts or poles and such.:dunce:
Stupid scenery

Just tried the singleplayer on the PC. Looks great, glare and stuff looks better than on the PS3.
Have everything on ultra except for a anti-alias setting.
Running the game at 1920x1200. First real test for the new PC and temperatures don't go above 45°C, which is nice. Looking forward to playing online.

Latest ones, 285.62 Nvidia

EDIT: I can now see the menus but only in the windowed mode :S

I see in the screenshot that you still have the Beta showing up there in Origin... If thats still installed I'd make sure to wipe that out and get rid of any old files that might be laying around from that.

It doesn't matter if you installed them in different directory's.
The first time I played the complete game I had the beta still installed and it didn't result in any problems.

I have, everytime i re-installed it i removed everything in my computer with the words Origin.

Downloaded the latest on EA.com and it still says Beta.

I found a way to play the game now (SP). There was an option to run it in windowed mode but there are drawbacks to that.
I´m getting **** FPS (around 40-60)

When i tried full screen i had 90fps or so in the first mission on the train.
When i did it with windowed mode i lost around 50fps, but it works for now.
Also had to go down from Ultra to High.

Just did a couple of missions and the graphics are stellar.

I would expect that to be the case but given the issues people have run into so far...

Funny coincidence though, from watching the video he posted, that looks like in the beta when the screen would stay tinted blue after you were killed and redeployed sometimes.

Also when you reinstall everything... I would browse through the program files and make sure to get rid of any folders and config files that get left behind (if you aren't already doing that) since the uninstaller tends to not actually remove everything.

Ok so now i have SP running, (windowed bu still)

So i try MP and this shows up...

Could not launch game. Please make sure it's installed correctly.

You have no idea how much i want to smash in the guys face whoever it now was that came with the absolutely brilliant idea to separate Battlelog-Battlfield3-Origin.

I cincerely hope the guy gets fired for coming up with such idiotic ideas for a game.

I know some games (World of Warcraft off the top of my head) have actual options in the graphics menu to restrict frames per second in windowed mode, or when the window is in the background. Might be restricted to 60 in some config file somewhere... or it could just be the way that your processor or graphics cards are set to prioritize windowed applications compared to full screen.

Interesting. In urban areas i had like 40ish but i remember now that when i did the flight mission it never went over 60. Possibly 61 but nothing i can recall.

I´ll see what i can find,

Last time I played a couple days ago, some servers had queues and others didn't. What up with that? Server options?

Currently trying to get my PS3 controller to work with the airplanes and helicopters.
Moving is OK, changing weapons and countermeasures still have to be sorted.

First Impressions:
Graphics are amazing. The movement seems so smooth and gives the feeling of weight to your character. Online seems well balanced (for example the vehicles are not over-powered). No online gaming session is similar, like CoD.
Impressed.

Do I have a vote of confidence in the GTP Platoon logo?

All opposed say Neigh like a horse.

What are you using to map the keys?

Is that tyrannosaurus rex farting fire?

Yessir. Someone shot him with a taco-loaded SMAW.

That is both disturbing and incredibly awesome. I would also assume incredibly painful.

Hell yeah!

Actually I think just the T-Rex with the crown and fire fart conveys enough awesome on it's own. No need for the rest.

I would tend to agree. This is probably the first time I have ever seen a T-Rex with a crown and farting fire.

Yeah I guess I could just make it the King Rex. I'm quite fond of my Floaty Stabby Zeus Shield though.

Not really. Paleontologists have compared T-Rex anus tissue to space shuttle tiles. They could pass a stegosaurus so a little fire is nothing.

I think it looks good, the T-Rex is definitely the focus though. You might make the tank in the bottom left a hair bigger; there is a bunch of empty space there.
