Can´t wait for HQ. Hopefully kill cam, triangles you name it dissappears so you get the full sensation on being in a war.

I´d imagine the tactics of the teams would be very different aswell.

If you consider 75% of both teams sniping from as far away as they can "tactics".

As far as not being able to connect, they might be putting out an update, or working on servers.

I'm thinking about getting a 64 player private server for BF3. That way there could be the best games possible for everyone involved. I have a buddy who may setup a website for it and try and get it rolling. Maybe something like haveing weekly votes on maps and game types, monthly tournaments etc. Just something to where everyone involved could have a great time playing and not have to worry about getting into games where people will not work as a team, or act like idiots.

I would plan to keep the room public until I got enough people coming in, and then turn it into a private server. I really want to get enough people together with the like mind of playing the game the way it is meant to be played. It would be great to be able to just go and have games where everyone is communicating and working as a team, and that just will not happen on to many public servers.

I want to get a feeling though about how many players I can actually get to take part in this. I really want to keep it private so kids and just obnoxious people in general can't take part. As far as I'm concerned GTP has the best forum members there are, and I thought that this would be the best place to try and get something like this started. If anyone would be interested please pm me.

My internet is terrible right now for some reason. I was really excited for the game but from what I've seen bullet damage is too high for my liking and the mini map seems pretty crap as well as a lot of the UI.

Hopefully I get to play it properly at some point though.

Well what would you do in a real war? :)
Especially with people running around like headless chickens shooting at everything they see :)

I did some sniping just now, defended on the outside, man we were good won the round there!
But for me sniping is not my thing, i´d rather have a really strong weapon with a nice laser sight or something similar.

Was in a really good server and we dominated!
Then i found out i died places where nobody could hit me, turns out one dude was still outside (we defended and i was deep in the subway) He spent the whole round in a bug outside shooting long distance rounds through the whole map, he probably got me like 5 times.

Should also mention it worked after that post. No idea what happened there but i guess that´s BETA for you ;)

I think that's already fixed for the full retail game

I unlocked the M416 for the assault medic class. Amazing weapon. I've got the heavy barrel and foregrip on it now. Probably my favorite gun to this point although I've barely tried any of the other classes yet.

BF3 together with Virgin will launch a massive tournament with 1.6 Million dollars in prize money.

Check youtube if you have subbed them.

Well, good thing we got in some Caspian Border while we could. They've concluded testing and are now shutting those servers down.

You're welcome, Blackbird. It really is a beautiful map. If you were able to hop in a plane, as soon as you gain altitude you see that the country on one side of the border is completely engulfed in flames. Such a cool effect.

I also read that they disabled the "Ultra" settings even though you can still select them. I didn't really notice much of a difference going from high to ultra, and my 480gtx didn't really sweat it either.

Well EA did warn if the password distribution continued theyd end it.

I infact did get in a plane and saw what you were talking about and took a screen, but im at work now so I cant upload it. On the topic off aircraft, you can hear your player breathing while turning. I know theyre simulating what a pilot does to prevent g-lock but when i first got in a jet i turned hard right after takeoff and briefly lost control. A bug or a game mechanic?

Im also using the 480, id report the same opinions as you. The card didnt sweat it which im impressed about.

It´s not even Ultra settings? Damn, my 2 GTX580´s pull around 70-80fps with maximum settings.

I bet the drivers are very far from optimized, the ones i have now it said it enhanced the performance by up to 40% or something like that. And it´s BETA drivers aswell.

EDIT: Could be SLI that´s not really getting used fully.
EDIT2: I just took a smoke out of my window and it´s very foggy and 10.30pm, i wonder if we will get a night time map? Maybe a big forrest or similar?

This game's matchmaking is so broken, I try to play with a friend, and I can't hear him and it puts him on another squad or team, and you can't start your own squad or invite people to your squad :irked:

Anyway to fix this on PSN?

You're on the newest drivers? Those are more BF3 optimized. Also, what kind of CPU do you have? I read Frostbite 2 is very CPU intensive-- will take advantage of hex core, etc.

Edit: Time Attack while I agree the battle doesn't always take place over the whole map all the time it quite often does when vehicles get involved. Did you play BC2? Conquest with vehicles will take up huge maps even with 24 players.

Yes I did and the vehicle whoring was terrible. I think I'll find my self playing rush or TDM. I never liked bothering with stupid Mcom stations. Attackers almost never won in that game.

Time attack, rush is the mode that you attack M-COM stations, and have a team defending.

I suppose in Beta they didn't include the collapsing of buildings yet. I remember in BC2 you got the effect when a building was collapsing, you tried your best to gtfo. Hopefully the immersion is still the same in the final product. I never got to use that AA gun but I used the US one. That was a beast.

Let me rephrase I guess. I was a bit tired when I wrote that.

After playing for a few hours now, I think I'll still skip the game until I rent it. I've had a couple good matches a few hours ago that got me up a couple levels. I've also had my fair share of iffy matches, one in particular reminded me of MOH (and I don't want to be reminded of that game): The lag was causing me get hit markers with a shotgun, even at close range. That was NOT a fun match. BUT that wasn't even the worst- no mute feature really pisses me off. All the annoying kids who turn on their mics for no reason other than to play their rapcrap music and talk to another person physically in the room (not in the game). This is what mostly turned me down.

I admit- I've been entertained. I love the crawling animation and the bipods that you can actually use, the select fire is an awesome and helpful feature, snipers without scopes are fun, the graphics are :censored:ing awesome...I'm sure there's more I can't think of. Metro is an OK map, but tends to be a bit iffy sometimes, I really hoping to check out the jets though since that's what impressed me the most from one of the recent videos.

Overall, for a beta, I'd say it's ok. For now I put my money down on MW3 since I really don't trust BF: BC2 was short lived due to unlocking everything so fast, BF2 I hardly played, and MOH just outright sucked (technically it's a BF game).

Maybe it's because I'm more biased towards COD, I don't know. Maybe I just like COD's simple pick-up-and-play system with no need to play like in BF. I don't know .

What ticks me off even more is EA/Dices avertisting. "BF3 will totally kick MW3's ass!" "COD sucks, buy BF!" It just makes me sick. Even more so with their "no Porsche for you!" attitude toward T10- our last resort at a quality console semi-racing sim. Maybe this is why I don't like BF3 as much- the way they're acting towards other game companies just pisses me off.

How was BC2 quick to unlock everything and short lived? :odd:

For me it was. You unlock everything before you reach max level, which pretty much dulls the rest of MP.

Then again it could be that I just played it a lot.

Max level takes a long time, most of my friends and me STILL haven't reached it I think, it takes a lot of XP to level up in Battlefield

Yep, 285.something, BETA.

i7 950 4.2GHz - should be more then enough to max the game out on one screen easily.
I think it has to do with it not using everything the cards can provide.

Currently I'm really enjoying the beta. Had one 23 minute game where my team pushed forwards and eventually destroyed all the stations!

Decided to download the beta on a whim, and I've never played Battlefield!! Looking forward to trying it. 👍

My experience with the PC version of the beta is not very good. It's a bug-ridden piece of crap, and that with only three weeks before release.

I had the complete opposite experience with the PS3 version, runs very well and smoothly. 👍 Too bad I suck so much with the controller as opposed to the mouse.
