I just gave the SKS a bit of a run and I like the weapon. The iron sights are okay-ish. I would compare them to the Type 88 or PKP; but since the weapon is semi-auto, as opposed to full auto, the iron sights are less of a hindrance to putting shots on target. I will definitely like using either a red dot, holographic, or INRV sight on the weapon, as that will make the sight picture much clearer.
 
Playing kharg island last night I was on top of that 3 story building in the middle of the map. Right before the end of the game I noticed a guy all the way over on top of those hills by the first base trying to snipe us. I took him out with the SKS with no scope. :lol:
 
Is it just me or is it a bit ridiculous trying to take down a helicopter? You were there Midship when me, you, and some other guy were all trying to take down a helicopter. I get that some people are good with the helicopter but seriously it shouldn't take more than 3 people to take down a helicopter.
 
That is what I was talking about the other day. It is impossible to take out air support. They really need to nerf choppers at least a little bit. Make flares reload slower or make it so flares don't work 100% of the time. Maybe make flares work on only one incoming missile. We probably had 3 missiles in the air going for that one guy at some point. I even tried laser designating some targets and that still didn't do anything.

I agree. They should make flares not work all the time as they don't always work in reality. I don't think it should be constant but maybe a 10 or 15 percent chance of them not working would be pretty balanced.
 
And the chance could increase the more missiles you have coming at you. We should have taken that guy out having fired about 10 at him.

I know we all fired at the same time and I thought it was gonna hit him but then nope flares. I kept looking for ammo boxes to resupply and still couldn't get him. Now that I think about it they should probably increase the range of the IGLA and the Stinger.

Just wondering, was it me you were shooting at? Although highly unlikely

I was in a huey venom @ canals in rush and I had a mobile AA and 2 rocketeers shooting at me, but I had 2 gunners and 2 repairmen aboard, it took forever but they finally shot me out of the helicopter with a rocket and it crashed killing the rest of us aboard
 
No this was on Kharg Island. I think I was shooting at you with a PHIB Boat that the enemy team left on the shore but only got like 11 points for an assist in that game though.
 
Sounds like I was probably along for the ride on that one as the same thing happened to me but no this was on kharg island.
 
Oh yeah on the first lvl of kharg rush and I was on a rock with the javelin, right? Then I got sniped with 88% health
 
I think I was in a jet most of that one. The A10 Thunderbolt and SU25 Frogfoot should get disabled a lot quicker than they do.

In the beginning of the game I was is what I meant.
 
Not sure then, I was only online friday this weekend, so maybe and I did fly a frogfoot @ kharg

I know when we were trying to take down the AHIZ Viper we were defenders and I was using a Frogfoot earlier but I also took an A10 when we were attackers and I eventually crashed into a pole like an idiot. Then I cant remember much else about it.

Well I'm going to bed as my IPod is dying, good day.

I hit one friday too and it was so weird I timed my ejection perfectly and lost 44% health upon ejection as the plane crashed and I was alive and rocketing above the "pretty explosion".... A seat saved my life!
 
Just got BF3 this weekend, really enjoying online but the campaign is shocking. Add hywelkidd on PSN if you want someone to play with/against. I'm not the best at FPS games but I always play the objective (unlike some I have come across online) and I do relatively well.

Don't fire at the same time then. Let 1 person fire so pilot has to deploy flares, then you have 2 other missiles that could get a lock again to take him down.

It's hywelkidd (I did mention it before, must have not been clear enough lol). Just looking for some guys to play with as all my PSN friends only play MW3 and FIFA at the moment and everyone else I know plays BF3 on the 360.

I never really used air radar or beam scanning because it replaces flares.

@Time_Attack Jets make a prettier explosion.

We did. Before we all fired At once I waited for him to pop flares but then he popped more as the rocket got closer.
 
^ Looks like this will soon not be problem anymore... New PC patch out and one of the fixes is a longer reload time for flares in choppers... :D
