VEXD; Makes perfect sense to me but I'm also old like you so we are probably on the same wavelength.

Which bring me to my next point.
I don't think it's the ping speed which causes disconnections during the game.

To use my experience as an example let me explain.

About 6 weeks ago I got myself a new ISP provider.
Prior to the new provider I was constantly and I mean :banghead: constant being cut from the server. Since my upgrade ISP I haven't been cut once.
Me thinks it's the ping quality not only speed that cause disconnection issues.
My ping speeds acording to the BF3 bar system hasn't changed in comparison to my old provider which makes me think that all the required info wasn't being sent/received.

To use your UK/Aus scenario.
I shoot Mr VEXD with a 5 shot burst but the info comes back as I shot two shots. The PS3/Dice coding becomes confused, has a hissy fit, spits the dummy and cuts Mr gunny from the game.

Ping (speed) I'm sure causes the lag issues.
Once again I shoot Mr VEXD, the bullet travels to my modem, down my phone line to my local exchange and makes a 30,000km odd return trip.
I now shoot Mike and the bullet follows the same path but only does about a 2,000km return trip.
Even though electrons are fast little buggers surely that extra distance has to slow things down, hence the lag at times.

Once again please correct my noobishness if I'm wrong.

Cheers Shaun.

^ Yup, Step into a Viper as the gunner and you'll get it easily... ;)

Battlefield has suffered latency issues since it's beginning on consoles.

I mean... I got shot through one of those shipping containers yesterday, and it wasn't one of the ones you can walk through.

This happened to anyone else? I sucked flying Heli but i jumped into one few days backwards and i dont suck anymore, im pretty good actually.

I have been trying since yesterday and a few minutes ago my best was 4kills :grumpy: but only because it was a match of 1000tickets, I can't get the kills very quickly. Can you help me getting it?

I will be back with my PS3 this evening so might be back in on the action 👍. Also just started writing a Bf3 handbook for GTP, will probably take a while to finish though.

What differences do the Supressor and Flash Hider's have?

Suppressor suppresses sound and flash (you don't appear on minimap), but you have reduced accuracy due to bullet spread.

Flash suppressor eliminates muzzle flash, but not sound so you still appear on the minimap. The weight of the flash suppressor reduces recoil though, so accuracy is increased over mid range.

I just stumbled accross something very strange.
I was searching through the servers looking for a game when I accidently joined a game with no players. The usual waiting for 7 players to start came up but I was free to roam around and do what I wanted. :odd:
Considering the round was at Caspian I jumped into the attack heli to fine tune my awesome crap piloting skills and proceeded to base rape the Russian deployment. :D

Sadlly you don't score any points though but if someone is looking to practice flying or whatever without getting shot at it's fine.
I also tried at another server with zero players (there's plenty there) and the same thing happened. I'm pretty sure previously when there wasn't enough players you had to wait for enough to join before you could move.

Can anyone confirm?

Cheers Shaun.

I'm not the best pilot, but I can of course try to help you get it :D A good pilot helps out a lot in getting a lot of kills from the gunner seat.

Was it custom or Dice server? Gotta try this. I remember in BC2 it was 6 or 8 players in server and you start getting points.

Custom.

Yeah, it is a new patch feature. I believe the round will truly begin when 8 players join.

Really hating the auto start. My only major issue with he patch

I have been giving alot of hate for the SKS but after trying it its a freakin BEAST HOLY CRAP its amazing!

Any empty server will do that. Until the minimum players is reached, it acts like an unranked match

Ok thanks 👍.
Just I was sure near release of the game you couldn't move until the minimun player allotment was reached.

Cheers Shaun.

Yet, COD is actually the better made product. How many bugs are we still dealing with half a year after the release of BF3?

I've had every single COD (apart from 1 & 2), I was a COD fan before I was a BF fan, I only had BC1, BC2 and Battlefield 3 and I'd like to say Battlefield is better than COD due to its realism and the enjoyment of playing it.

They do, just because it doesn't work how they want it, doesn't mean it hasn't been tested. Game development is just not that simple.
