It's just stupid that you have to get x amount of kills with a gun just to get your preferred sight. If I wanted the red dot I'd have to get 200 kills before I unlock it. Sights are all down to the user's preference and should be available from the start.
By the same logic you don't need a special sight so why not have more things to unlock so you can look forward to getting that special US sight on your RU gun. It only takes 10 kills to remove a clunky iron sight and put something else on. It's sort of contradictory that you say sights are personal preference but seem so angered by the fact you can't have the specific sight you want, as if the gun will suddenly become much better. The way I see it, the gun will work fine and a usable sight becomes available very early on but then it's rewarding to get a specific style I want.
If anything there's more of an argument to say have a bipod unlocked on all sniper rifles, because other users have a straight pull or bipod which gives a definite advantage. Or that everyone should have everything so nobody is at a disadvantage but then you're not rewarded for putting time in and you don't feel like you're earning things. As you say a sight makes little difference other than a subjective judgement, so it shouldn't be a big problem to not have the one you want.
I tried out the M26 dart + underslung rail + heavy barrel (no G3 mind) as I've been using the mass anyway, I only tried it briefly and the range is pretty crazy but it's no USAS Mk.II. I'll go back to the mass when I use one, they're fun little shotties and very useful under the barrel (though I like having it as a standalone for the appearance).
I'll also likely be on later this evening, as will my usual partner Tom.
