The map featured in these images, presumably titled Bandar Desert, looks to be one of the bigger maps that the Battlefield franchise will have to offer and sets the ground (and air) for some intense battles in your vehicle of choice, be it a tank, a chopper, a jet or even an AC-130 Gunship.

Seems like some things still need fixing. Flashlights don't seem any different at all. I got one shot killed by a jet's guided missile when there was absolutely 0 missile warning. Lock on tones don't give adequate warning as every time one popped up, I was dead before the tone changed.

The FAMAS works great.

I regards to Premium.
My PSN ID is of the country I live in, which does not have a PSN Store.
Normally I'd buy DLC's from the UK store (I get my games from the UK) and they've always worked on my main account.
However BF3 Premium has that warning requiering it to be bought in-game. The tweeter feeds say that it's tied to account; which would suggest it having to be bought from ingame (which I obviously can't do as it just gives me an error about there not being anything to download at this time).

Can anyone confirm that Premium can be accessed on the same console on an account without a PSN Store?
 
Ive been out of the loop for a while so forgive me for asking if its already been covered. Can I buy the CQ maps without Premium already (PS3)? And anyone know how much Premium costs in Euros? :) Thanks for answering, don't have time to read back through the posts. 👍

You can buy the maps without Premium membership, but you have to wait a week after. So while Premium members are playing now, you'd have to wait til next week. but I could be wrong.

Thanks! I think I'll purchase premium this week anyway... With all the future DLC coming out I don't see myself not playing this game a lot in the coming weeks! :D
 
So premium costs 50euros, without it all DLC's are going to cost me 75euros. Yeah it's worth it imo.

In previous moments of sound loss, I've had the overall ambient chatter and gunfire disappear, but never the gunfire of someone shooting at me.

Last night, during our failed attempt at SQDM, I was being shot at from behind and the only reference/indication I got was my health deteriorated and I got the red line/semi-circle denoting that I was being shot.

No sound at all from the guy using his G53 8 feet away behind the skip.

I had problem with the sound dropping, I changed the sound from war tapes to cinema or something like that and havent had a problem since.
 
Rant begin, skip this post as it contains nothing relevant.

Last night was a giant cluster eff for me. Got patch all downloaded nice and early and thought the maps went through smooth. Sat down to play after my daughter went to bed only to realize the map pack failed to download.
No biggie ......
Yeah after first disconnecting from. EA 7 times I reset my router ( both the main food router and the one in my living room.) Start download again + 1900 minutes.... again 1100 minutes. Wtf. Dig through my wire drawer to find a 15 c5 cable. Try again. Another rediculous time. Tried through PS store as well ( maps only, at thispoint I have premium) same crap.
Clear cache, cookies, browser history and search history.
Try again. Wired. Still ridiculous times. Check the network settings and run a test. Blazing fast speed of wopping 1 Mps..... wired. I went through the house and shut every connected device down completely and test again. No better.
Back to wireless. Test 7.? Mbs. Screw it gonna try anyway.
90 minutes on screen. Drops to 60 right away, sweet everything's going and looks like my connection is getting g back to better speed ( avg 18 mps ) so I sit and watch some terrible inlaw show with the Wife. Finally finished download and install ( thank God no problems otherwise my TV would have been in pain)

Login to play around on gtp server cause its empty and I wanted to check out the maps. Yeah...... no. Immediately lose connection. ( twice ) no biggie as I read here that some us guys were having trouble. Fine. But afteriver 2 hours messing with the damn thing I want to play.
I joined with someone here on metro rush. Only to have a complete system freeze. Done!!!!!!
What is wrong with dice. I had similar issues getting BTK to ddownload and install. Both originally in December and again after the last patch. No other downloads ever give me issues like these have.

Though this doesn't answer your question exactly, I bought premium and my girlfriends account on the PS3 is also premium now as it's installed to the hard drive. In theory that means you can just buy it on the UK store and it will work on all the accounts on that system.

Mission for me today is get the ACW-R unlocked, going to take an annoying amount of time as RPG kills are often fighting over a kill on a tank or finishing a guy off/direct impact. I've also noticed you can now unlock extended mags on the M27 which is incredible, and will be my second mission :lol:.

Well you're doing better than I've been able to. The patch just won't download. Starts off really slow and then fails after a while. Had the same problem with B2K when we had to re-download it but it was fine when they released it. It's got to be a problem with Dice as no other downloads on the PS3 go so slowly and I've only ever had downloads from Dice fail.

Nothing wrong with my connection, I usually get 32mb/s download. The lowest I've had since upgrading to Infinity was 29.
 
So just a little bit ago I was in a tank at gulf of Oman we were down By 500 tickets (long cq) and we had it tough. They were help spawn camping, etc etc. I took my tank (thermal cam, shotgun-thing, auto loader) and took out their scout helo. It was full, plus I had just got done capturing a flag and I got an armored warfare ribbon and a nemesis kill. (250+100+100+100+100+100+100+50+200+50=1150 pt combo) that was awesome

Tip for free tank and RPG kills: Dropping rubble. Works especially well all over Seine as well as on Grand Bazaar at B. Simply shoot at a part of a wall and it falls down. If anyone is standing anywhere near the falling rubble they are dead. It is the easiest way to get kills.

Seine in the tank you can park on any objective and take it within seconds. If anyone comes near you on any part of the map and you cant shoot them normally, just rubble them.

Any objective that you can physically park the tank on though, so excluding C. Though you can get up to that lower level where the container and MCOM are, if you get enough of a run up. from there you can drive over those small stairs and come out on D road.

Premium is 50 Euro (49,99 to be exact) and I already bought it.

Only played 2 new maps and 2 new modes. Won very close domination match at some kind of exotic mansion (can't remember the name of the map). Great vertical map with lots of destruction, you can really change how the map looks during firefights. Lots of action, you are engaging enemies left and right. It reminded me of Mexican standoffs in John Woo movies (minus slow motion and pigeons).

Second one was gun master mode at Zimba Tower. Very enjoyable. Got 2nd place overall because couldn't get kills fast enough with single shot sniper rifle. But it was very exciting, especially fighting for the top spot reminded me of good days of racing in GT for the top spot. Also lots of destruction, nice design.

Plus lots of assignments, some new guns and camouflage for it (F2000 camo looks very nice!) and outfits (didn't check them yet).

Overall since I almost don't play any other games recently and would buy all the DLC for BF3 anyway I think it is a good deal with all the bonus stuff you're given. Can't wait for Armored Kill and End Game (riding shotgun on enduro bike while firing javelins may be very exciting :) )

Yup, new camo for Scar-H (I think it is desert stripe), PKP, F2000 and L96.
 
So apparently there's a new version of the M320 called the LVG... and it fires live grenades. :lol:

I bought premium too and no luck getting to the new maps either. At work now but it better be fixed by the time I get home tonight... Ugh.

(Tree'd) Bazaar Conquest, spam rockets around B (high tickets helps), I was 5 away after a general normal session and it didn't take long on Bazaar for the other 5.

ACW-R appears glitched, 27 round magazine instead of 30+1? But the weapon as a whole seems ok but better suited to close range than the normal carbines with a very high fire rate at 850RPM, could do with some more attachments to test it out properly. So far only the SPAS stands out for me, the M417 is great but not perfect, the JNG is just meh just like most bolt actions the way people play these days means you can't kill much and the AUG still seems average but solid all round for it.

On the bolt actions, in Hardcore they're great and really good fun but lately in Core they're unusable for most things except shooting guys camped out on bipods or other snipers.

I don't know if you guys ever use the Battlelog site (it's not mandatory for PS3 players, is it?) but it appears to have a 'BF3' tab in the top left corner now, I wonder if that means we'll see a Medal of Honour tab joining it soon? Seems redundant having a tab if Battlelog is just for one game, and the name is ambiguous enough to be applicable to more than just Battlefield.

As for rocket kills, if you're lucky you'll get cocky pilots flying close to the ground on Damavand Peak, I once got something like 8 RPG kills in one game thanks to one guy, and it was perfectly legit. Not that RPGs on Infantry is illegitimate, but you know how a lot of people feel about it. I think that was the game where I launched an RPG at a tank, the tank moved and the rocket hit a guy who was repairing the tank who didn't also move and he had a moan at me about it... Not my fault his cover was pulled from in front of him!

But yeah, RPGs on choppers is an easy way to get kills, but I find you have to hit with the first rocket otherwise they'll get spooked and fly off or fly higher. Javelin kills count, by the way, they did last time at least.
 
I nailed a couple of F35s with RPGs as well :lol:, on A Conquest I got one flying low then the other one came along and my friend nails that one. Infantry 1 - 0 Jets. Seem to be getting helicopters and F35 kills quite regularly with the RPG, though not quite topping Zoom witnessing me snipe a guy climbing up a crane, Zoom is by me with his sniper rifle and in my mind I'm just like dude, I got this... No idea what the distance was but he was on the crane nearest US mountain and I was by B.
 
Maps working for guys in the states?
Got out of work early and was just sitting down to play. Ring ring.
Toilets leaking in a guest room ( family owns a motel) turnabout itsbthe main line outside the back building. A 100 ft manual fed and retrieved power snake and I solved that problem. Now to check toilet. Yup backpressure blew the seal between the floor. Replace that and a bolt snapped while tightening it down ( shoulda used new one) so a trip to home depot for a new wax ring (again) and a set of bolts later get that all sorted. My 2 hours of free time before my daughter gets home from school is gone. Bring her to work cause she wants a powerade and a bag of tater sticks, only to have to fix a broken lamp and replace a smoke alarm. Grrrrrrrrr.
Really want to play but don't want the headache of not having it work. Dealt with enough poop already.


Soooo any US premium guys having problems still or is everything working now?
