🤬 my life!!!

I went down and got $80 worth of PSN vouchers and then I went home.
I get on BF3 and I find that it's 89.90. FML :grumpy:
Ooh, 7,500 posts in the thread :dopey:

I think I've had enough with the game in it's current state. Hit detection is somewhere else. Some people seem to have invulnerability, like the one guy who I put an entire clip of G17C into and got not one hitmarker from. The best part, he was disarming the MCom with his back to me. Then there was the one admin who decided his team deathmatch game would be positive KDR against negative KDR and he kept this enforced, so instead of being squaded with my friends, I was moved multiple times throughout the short amount of time I was in that match. This was all on the same server as well.

Also, the sound. They fixed it by taking it away completely it seems.

Overall, there better be another patch or 👎 to me buying any of the DLC.

Last night I emptied almost an entire magazine at two guys who were standing behind a pretty insubstantial pylon, one with four very skinny legs, and I could see my rounds hitting the thin air between the legs and not passing through as they should... I wonder if there's a glitch or something? I do hate it when admins feel the need to interfere after the first, say, 30 seconds of a game; all balancing should be done before the game starts properly, and new joiners can be balanced as they join. Some admins just enjoy the power they have a little too much sometimes.

Yet, I still bought Premium. I had been fighting off the urge all day but when it got to 2am I lost my self restraint... I doubt I would've made it as far as the next pay day anyway though so what difference does it make? I can't play CQ until next week (assuming it releases on time and works) but I have access to the assignments to get some of the guns anyway is cool.

Also it seems I was right about the Stryker and the other tank I couldn't identify is the Sprut SD, you can see the names come up in the kill feed on the first Premium video.

How does it compare to the other bolt action rifles?

Power is on and off, i feel its weaker at range than the L96 but more than the M40 and SV98. Reload time and loading another bullet is similar to L96, might be a tad faster. Haven't had a chance to test the range yet but the bullet drop seems ok.

I can't comment on accuracy yet because you get the 7x scope default and i use the 8x.

L86A2 LSW is a bit of a beast, I use foregrip, Holo and extended mags. Its like running around with a the L85 but with a lot more bullets, and if anything its more accurate with its long LMG barrel.

I think im the only one who seems to like the AUG, as ive heard a few people say its average at best, but i cant explain it but it just works for me.

In the process of unlocking the second set of guns now, Im closest to getting the JNG-90 next, Im not really a big Bolt action guy, i only use semi auto's for close to medium range normaly, But i have to say its a cool looking gun especcially with that large muzzle break.

I wish I had the 8x as well, but in terms of bullet speed (and therein drop) it does indeed seem to fall between the M40 and L96, whilst the actual fire rate is equal best of the bolt actions with the M40. I believe however that with a straight pull bolt the scope will do that annoying lean to the left like the L96, though I can't confirm. In other words it's a solid middle ground with some of the M40s closer range ability thanks to a quick bolt action, but maintains better long range capability with lower bullet drop by comparison. It's ok, a nice middle ground between the 2 extremes of the 7.62x51mm bolt actions. The main problem I have with it is 125 kills for the 7x and I still haven't adjusted properly to the new tracers at longer ranges as I've left Recon alone for a while.

I'm not sure from a purely performance point of view compared to other bolt actions it has much to make it stand out, it's just ok. Then again from purely performance there's not alot of reason to leave the M98B alone unless for the M40s fast bolt and friendly straight pull animation on closer range maps whilst the L96 holds the mid ground. In other words, it fills a gap that doesn't really need filling but it's not a bad gun.

I need to work on unlocking the straight pull and 8x for it, but I think I'll stick with my M40 as I have a particular allegiance to that gun.

For the people not being able to connect to server, freeze, etc. try redownloading Close Quarters from the PSN Store.

Is it truth that I am supposed to buy Premium from IN GAME store and not Playstation Store?

Apparently people who bought it on the PlayStation store were charged twice.

G8r: tried that both Monday and Tuesday. It was the first thing I thought of as I had to do it withB2K.still no go for me.
Battlelog forums seem to have it working this way tho.

Premium: yes buy from I game and not from psn.
Buying map pack from either one is OK. Once you buy premium the map pack price is free so it doesn't matter if you are charged twice.

I agree, and like you I'm working on getting the 8x and straight pull bolt.

I'm gonna give it a fair run, maybe get 500kills then decide. When i first saw it i thought it would be more powerful than the L96 range and damage wise but just under the m98b.

It does look good though :)

I'll keep updating as i progress

EDIT: feel free to add me, i play hardcore as well though.

You could try it again, it's what the Battlefield twitter is telling people to do.

I understand that is what they are saying and will try again.

I have uninstalled and really installed everything multiple ( >10) times as of last night. Gone as far as restoring the ps3 I run bf3 on. Twice. I have spent in excess of 6 hours trying to get this to work, not only can I not get into themes maps but any other game I join I either freeze on loading or freeze after a minute or two of game play. Disc maps or b2k.

Will try again this afternoon tho.

Einsteins definition of insanity applies here me thinks.

I do appreciate the heads up on the work around fix tho.

Right now I feel like a PC user. Download install load fail delete. Wash rinse repeat. X infinity

I'm seeing rumors on other sites that the solution to the Close Quarters problem is to re-download CQ from PSN, not through the in-game store. Haven't been able to try this myself. Rumor has it there's some discrepancy between the file size of the CQ add-on as downloaded in-game versus PSN.

There's lots of unhappiness in the land with EA/DICE regardless, but it occurs to me to wonder if this isn't somehow a Sony Computer Entertainment North America problem. I'm harkening back to the problems Polyphony had releasing Spa in the US for GT5. Remember how the US rollout got postponed by a week the morning of the worldwide release? That got blamed on unspecified issues with the North American PSN store. Wonder if the same factors are at work here.

Ok Guys it works in United States

1. DO NOT DOWNLOAD Close Quarter in game!!!!

2 DOWNLOAD IN PS Store

Hope this Help Cheers

I bought mine in the Playstation store and I'm not sure how they could charge me twice when I only loaded up my wallet with enough for one purchase. I'm pretty sure if you bought in game they were having issues with it registering with your account.

Apparently redownloading CQ can fix (according to Battlefield twitter) it but I'm going to have to let all the games from plus finish downloading first and then try it late tonight when I finally get home. Somebody try and let us know.

Will add later if I remember.

I've been trying it out a little more directly after the L96 and here's the way I see the JNG now. For snipers who use a bipod but want M40 fire rate with better ranged capability the JNG makes alot of sense, Damavand Rush US is an excellent example of where the JNG shines with lots of targets and good elevation to shoot them from. It's essentially an M40 rival, trading better ranged capability against a more friendly straight pull. Going from close range capability to long range that leaves the following as my list, along with optics suggestions. I'm coming around to the 7x again, it's not all bad because it gives best close range capability but more difficult to calculate bullet drop at longer ranges, works well on the JNG/M40. I still never use the 12x as it's just overkill on my screen but on smaller screens I see the appeal so I've included it, personally though if someones using a 12x there's a good chance they're just too far away to be really effective the 8x is way more versatile.

Best Close Range - M40A5 (7x or 8x) - Fastest fire rate, ideal for straight pull
JNG-90 (7x or 8x) - Equal fast fire rate, annoying straight pull animation
SV-98 (8x or 12x)- Middle ground, not sure how it stacks against the JNG at range but the L96 pretty much beats the SV-98 in every situation (maybe not recoil?)
L96 (8x or 12x)- Solid long range rifle has 2nd highest bullet speed, annoying straight pull animation
Best Long Range - M98B (8x or 12x) - Powerhouse, highest bullet speed but slowest fire rate

Posted a few pages back on Premium release day. Just another heads up, as some gamers are still being double charged.

Battlefield 3 Premium Now Live, Don’t Buy Expansions from Xbox Live or PSN – Close Quarters PS3 Live

“Battlefield 3 Premium includes expansion packs Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, End Game, and Expansion Pack #5 [Aftermath]. If you buy Battlefield 3 Premium, these should be accessed through the in-game store and NOT DOWNLOADED FROM Xbox LIVE Marketplace or you will be charged twice. Take your Battlefield 3 experience to the next level with Battlefield 3 Premium! Containing a staggering amount of content, Battlefield 3 Premium gives you five themed expansion packs for Battlefield 3 with two weeks’ early access! You will also receive unique in-game items including a knife, new dog tags, exclusive soldier and weapon camos, and more. Premium members will also get access to features such as the ability to reset their stats, queue priority into servers, and new decals for their Platoon emblems.” reads the description* of the DLC plan.

And any who do pay twice, go and get a refund, if you haven't already.

Played a couple more games this arvo on CQDomination. The maps, despite being Metro sized actually work quite well, much better design than Metro. I like it. Using the F2000 mostly, works well as a close range assault rifle.

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/battlereport/show/48798825/4/209949149/

That lasted much longer than I remember, I'd say overall it's perhaps less frantic than Metro, due to the map design and it being 8 v 8.

I regards to Premium.
My PSN ID is of the country I live in, which does not have a PSN Store.
Normally I'd buy DLC's from the UK store (I get my games from the UK) and they've always worked on my main account.
However BF3 Premium has that warning requiering it to be bought in-game. The tweeter feeds say that it's tied to account; which would suggest it having to be bought from ingame (which I obviously can't do as it just gives me an error about there not being anything to download at this time).

Can anyone confirm that Premium can be accessed on the same console on an account without a PSN Store?

I had same problem... My PS ID is USA, bought Premium from USA PSN store and from the game I can't access the premium feature nor the in-game store? any help

I'd suggest not signing up for GTP of all places just to ask this. Call/chat with EA customer support and see what they say. Nobody here is going to know when generally everybody here lives in the country they purchased it from.

I got a few question or two.

How long is the premium offer gonna be avalible it seems like somthing that might expire in like 3 months.

And are there any screen shots of the new guns?

Buy Premium from the in-game store to make sure you get the proper region.

P.S. the AUG A3 is awesome!
