Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - PS3, PC, 360

Tonight i was completley slammed by each opposing team i faced. It was horrible. It seems like i was stuck with every single newbie to BC2 and was getting owned all night. I didn't win not even one round. I by no means am a FPS king but when i'm the only one on my team who is actually trying to win says alot.

I didn;t hear one MIC, no one even bothered to deal with the UAV's, my secondary gunner's were just about useless, and whenever i DID get in a tank i would obliterate, but when i would repair my tank someone would get in it and drive right into the heart of enemy bases only to end up a heap of burnt metal.

Even with all the negatives from tonight's gaming session i still lllooovveee this game. My K/D took a big hit tonight but nothing is better than erasing a bad night with an awesome one :)

I feel your pain, I used to get that alot when playing Battlefield 1943. you can add me: jswilli1, my son: ajwilli1, my wife Psycho_Sally if you want some squad members to play. I bought a second copy of BBC2 last night so we could play online on both PS3's. My son was online last night and was frustrated like you. My wife and I will be online shortly, I am nearly complete with the Campaign. I will most likely be on tonight after work.

So much better today :) A completle turnaround from the previous time i played. I must say it takes a while to switch tactics when changing from one class to another. After leveling up my assault medic and engineer class i was tired of being constantly mortared by snipers so i spent my gaming session as one.

As i mentiones before i takes a while to get used to the less frantic pace of being in the thick of things, but it can be a pain in the behind lining up that perfect headshot. I've never seen in a game the bullet arc from a long distance sniper round and BC2 does this sooo well. There are so many places to make people's lives miserable it's not even funny :)

There are those however who are scary snipers, there was one single sniper who kept my whole team at bay for a good 15 minutes with deadly accuracy and those mortar strikes.

I love this game. Win or lose i haven't had this much fun online since COD4.
 
Um wtf I've been rank 11 for a couple days and I can't use the shotgun slug? HALP PLEASE I HAVE MISSED IT SO DEARLY SINCE THE END OF THE BETA.
 
Picked this up today, not as much team play as MAG but sometimes working as a small team is far less stressful LOL Really enjoying it so far, only done just over an hour but I'm getting into it, some really nice map desighn and the weapons are great from the sound to the recoil.
 
Im really getting p***ed off with EA about the multiplayer aspect of this game, pretty much every match I played today I would loose connection to, after I finally managed to connect to EA online in the first place. My PS3 has also crashed 7 times during loading screens and key moments in matches. Ive also lost some guns and unlocks as a result of this mess.
I thought the campaign mode was awesome, its such a shame multiplayer is a let down for me. The beta and demo were much more stable.
It seems EA DICE are oblivious to the negative feedback on their forums, so don't expect patches anytime soon.:grumpy::( 👎

However the matches I have played server issues aside , especially the ones with GTP'ers, have been great.

I had my wife pick this game up last Tuesday for me when it came out , as I came down with walking Pheumonia Monday and was able to play about an hour a day , finially got through it today ( feeling a bit better but its kicking my arse ) .
I enjoyed the game and would like to play online , but I have not been online since I had a PC and played Wolfenstein many years ago .

If it wouldnt be a problem for some one to help me along in BBC online as I am a NOOB and dont want to be a burden with a team , I also picked up a bluetooth PS3 earpiece so we can communicate . I know most guys are worried about stats so I understand if no one wants to help .
Me: I just want to have fun and be coached , maybe some help on what would be best to start on like Assault, Engineer , Medic, or Recon ?
What map would be best to start on ? I have no stats as yet 0 across the board .

You'd be surprised, people are less fussy about stats (partly because it doesn't say how many kills and deaths you have mid game like COD) because the game is always objective based. Granted some people will still sit on a hill half a mile away picking off an infinite respawn team on Rush but I don't think thats the guys posting here.

As for starting off, I suggest Rush as it keeps the fighting into one place so you're not getting lost as easily and you know where the enemy is coming from. Class wise I suggest Assault as a good starter, it gives you the best chance when you get into a gun fight and if you just avoid large open areas, be a little sneaky and flank around, you won't have to many issues with Snipers and similarly vehicles. Perhaps most importantly try a little campaign first, get your eye in with the weapons and feel for movement. The way you play will change when you go online, but you'll still be pointing and shooting all the same. Finally, you certainly have the right idea asking for help, squading is the biggest advantage you can have, especially with headsets, as you can combine different classes for maximum effectiveness using their various weaponry and equipment. I'm sure myself, Tommi and Blitz are likely to hook up over the coming week, and I don't think any of us will complain about you adding us (just include text with the invite to say you're from GTP).

As for my thoughts on the game, it's fan-bleedin'-tastic. I've fully upgraded my Assault ready for when I'm playing with people, and similarly I've earnt all the special equipment for Recon and Engineer (not all weapons and specialisations though) so I'm a bit more flexible. I want to try get the sniper spotting scope to finish the job, though I have no idea how it works, and I probably won't bother with the Medic as LMGs aren't my thing.

Had some great rounds with Tommy today and noticed he was having connection issues. My wife got bumped last night while we were playing online. Today while playing with Tommy My son and I both got bumped during a Rush match. We tried to reconnect with EA servers with no joy as it appeared the servers had gone down. I also noticed a bit of Lag today as well while playing. I hope EA gets to straighten it out soon, the online battles with vehicles and destructive environments makes this game extremely fun.
 
I noticed we can use a Clan tag in the game for multiplayer online, Any ideas for a tag we can use as a clan tag to show we are from gtplanet? Maybe just GTP, do we need to check with Jordan or the mods first?

I'm not sure but I have used a GTP tag in other games in the past. Saying that, i'm currently using a TT-R tag.

Youve been busy... lol :) Im at level 7 right now and Ive been playing mostly engineer for which Ive opened up everything so far and I managed to finish the vehicle perks too... I really wanted the Alternate Fire package which we had in the demo, but thats the last one you open... so it took a while :P Working on the Assault class a bit here and there at the moment, hopefully I unlock the stuff quickly, sometimes it's hard to change tactics when changing from class to class... It was cool playing with you and Tommi2000 although I think Tommi was having connection issues when I came back to join you... Next time i'll hook up my headset though... really sucked when we got knifed trying to take "A" on that jungle level... if I had the headset on I couldve atleast warned ya, since he took me out first... :lol:

After that I had a couple of games with Tommi, but he had to quit due to the connection issues.... Are you still having issues now Tommi? All in all Im very impressed by this game... there's really not a lot I can complain about since its such a well balanced game and the maps are done very well too...

I played a few matches by myself last night and the stability was much better, I did get disconnected a couple of times but nothing like it was during the day when I was playing with friends. So im hoping the problem is going.:)

Ok cool... when we made squad yesterday you disappeared, but that was because of the connection issues I figured... hopefully I can play with ya during the week... We had a good team going though with you as a Medic, Drag as an Assault and me as an engineer... If there would have been a sniper too, we would have been complete... :sly:
 
had a great last round last night :D

that big desert map where the attackers start on an airstrip. i played defender, layed down some anti-tank mines and killed 7 guys and 3 vehicles in the span of just 2 seconds lol

Yep, I was very annoyed because of that, our squad was good like you said. Hopefully we'll have a 4th GTP member join us at some point. I need to get some unlocks for Assault and recon so wont be medic all the time though.
I should be on most nights this week and will be on in a while for most of the evening/night too if the connection does not continually fail.:)

Was playing with Erik earlier, he flew me in for an early grab at a bomb plant, I jumped out the heli armed the bomb then ran backwards for cover.....only to bump into the heli Erik just landed.....why did I bother jumping LOL Great game.
 
I'm still having sporadic disconnect issues at times. Ironically enough it happens when i'm on a roll :(

I'm not sure about the rest of you guys but i'm up to lvl 8 but i've seen lvl25's and higher. I must mention that the match i had against those jerks they had a Bradley across from our spawn point with 4 guys picking off my team as soon as they spawned. It was frustrating to say the least.

I've leveled up most of my classes up to respectable level's but my favorites have to be the assault and engineer class. Working well with a squad and keeping everyone supplied with ammo nets a good amount of points. The same with repairing vehicles as an engineer. Easy points if you know when to use it.

Good luck to all the newer players and never forget to work with the squad :) Hell there is a pin you earn that when 200 players spawn at your location you get 5000 points!

I decided to re-rent this instead of buying it. Campaign is just ok. The multiplayer is fun but the EA servers just create frustration and I am too impatient to wait for a match. Plus I am already backlogged on so many other games.

Sorry I had to go, had to run some errands this afternoon. Had some great rounds today with my wife, Blitz, and Tommi. Tommi and I spent 90% of the round in a tank and just racked it up! It was great to see a full squad with GTP tags playing online. See ya'll on the Battlefield:tup:
 
It sounds like most of you are having a great time with the game which is cool, i'd use my GTP tag also, but there is no way i'm going back into the battlefield as a level 1 :(
 
I'm definitely getting this game. I was watching a few videos and the sounds are incredible.
