Which gran turismo do you think it is the best drift simulator? Why?

I haven't played gt4 very much, but I think gt3 is better than gt4 because the camera (I don't like it very much), and cars can't drift very well.

There is no such thing as a " Best Drift Simulator" because we will always have opinions.

imo gt4. gt3 was far too easy to drift in. turn the stick left and your driftin. dont even need a modified car.
gt4 it actually takes skill, and involves weight transfer.

I think Gt4 is a better simulator....Gt3 was fun but a tad too easy...gt3 drifting reminds me of NFS...you get the idea....Gt4 is a lot more complex an nitpicky about weight transfer....Sooo...for the better sim Gt4 hands down

This should bring up some interesting discussion 👍

I'm going to go along with most people and say GT4 is my more preffered drifting simulator. As others have pointed out, techniques are really essential for drifting, and more then anything, The set-up of your car will predict it's characteristics.

have to agree with funkshen and suzuki

in gt4 its actually a challenge to start it , keep it going , stop it going.

I think that gt4 simulates well drift, it requires skill to drift, however, if I remember correctly when I played it, I didn't need very countersteer to still drifting, maybe because I was using a skyline, and I just need to countersteer a bit to don't spin, but if you countersteer too much, the tyres will gain grip, and you may not control it. I didn't play enough time to try the rwd cars.

The MAIN problem with GT4 is that it understeers in almost every situation. That is of course, until you're thrown into incredible snap oversteer.

GT3 was arguably more fun but far to easy to drift in. Honestly, once you figured out FR on one car, you pretty much had every other car down. Also, you could be VERY sloppy with the controls and still look good drifting. Neither of those is true in GT4.

So, what do I say? GT4, just because it's MUCH more satisfying to drift in GT4 then GT3 because it takes more effort, precision and skill :)

I've never drifted in GT1 or GT2 so I wouldn't know what it's like, but I assume it was pretty bad seeing all other aspects of the early GT physics were... lacking, to say the least.

I definitely prefer GT4 drifting over GT3. GT3 was far too easy, and too much like an arcade game for me. GT4 on the other hand, is challenging, yet gets relatively easy the more you practice. You have to tune your car over and over, seeing what settings work best for both you and the track, while in GT3 you can drift basically any stock car on any course.

thats what i wanteed to say:dopey:

I really don't have opinion about that,i did drifting in gt4,i think it's best among the GT's,LFS is the game that changed my opinion about GT drifting,so i really can't tell!

ne1 looking forward to the release of D1 Grand Prix on ps2

hmmm
1 its already out
2 has nothing to do with what the topic is about, so why post something not even related to it?

another reason why i like gt4 for drift better is the tandem action, cant get that on gt3.

i'm not really sure.......in GT3 the cars seem to slide more, but in GT4, theres a point where a car can drift easily. I myself don't really drift, so its hard to say....

I'd have to disagree with everyone and say GT3 is better, despite it being easier. Although, my drifting style may be different to most, I'm not sure, but I do low speed, 6th gear, 8000rpm, full opposite lock, RZ Supra on Complex String.

I do believe GT4 is better for high speed drifting though, like D1 GP usa

GT3 for easier drift. I only experience this once though, stock silvia and trueno the car just drift on its own :).
I don't have skill, but I can drift in GT4 the same way as GT3 with the help of tuning. I think GT4 drift tuning kinda like GT2 one. I hate drifting in GT1, I don't like the way the tire grip or slide.

I hadn't played GT4 in probablly over a year until today I started playing again at my friends house. I got pretty damn good at drifting in GT3 and the snap oversteer in GT4 pissed me off too much. I dont think the dual shock gives you enough control and I never felt like dropping $100+ on a logitech wheel. Although now I'm considering keeping my slim PSTwo and picking up the wheel to play GT4 and GT3. I think with practice drifting in GT4 won't be a problem, but the snap oversteer I experienced time after time is definitely NOT realistic. I'm not some hardcore drifter in real life but I've played around enough to be able to compare real life to GT4.

If you're just starting then go with the third to get the basics and the feel of the car. After that you can go to GT4 witch is more simulation and complicated

in my opinion, it would be better to just start with gt4. i played gt3 while gt4 was being made, and when it came out i had a hard time adjusting.
just something to think about.

Feeling-like, drifting should be hard, and so is drifting in GT4, so it means it's realistic. In GT3 it was easy, so it feels less realistic.

But fact is GT4 and GT3 are both wrong in physics. It's not like GT4 is "less wrong" than GT3. It's just more of a challenge. But every game is meant to be challenging, even arcade games.

So untill we get correct perfect physics (I guess that will take a long time) it doesnt really matter to me, just play what is more fun or (in many people's eyes) more challenging.

GT2 and GT4 are slightly similar with regards to drifting. I started out drifting on GT2 using the RZ supra with every sweet upgrade on Super Speedway. I could hold a mad, full opposite lock drift in 4th gear around the 1st corner.

But as I play GT4 more, it does involve alot more skill and perfection than any other.
