The 2006 Impreza is the best looking, does anyone know if it is getting a new livery for the 2007 model they are using in Mexico?

Oh, come on, get into those corners and fling it sideways like a 410, Heidfeld.

Someone get Danny Lasowzki or some other World of Outlaws driver in the car.

This is a terribly long and subjective thread but you've all missed my favorites.

I vote for that Ferrari 288 (or is it a 308?), anyway that's a pretty sweet rally car. Other than that, the Audi S1 and Lancia Delta get my votes.

There have been so many great looking rally cars to date, that it's hard to pick one specific. Because of the great looks and due to the unique sound, the Audi Quattro A2 is my favourite though:

A car that isn't mentioned yet here is the Peugeot 306 Maxi. It may be FF only, it really looks

And what about this mean looking BMW? :)

And the Opel Manta (correct me if it isn't a Manta)

Or the old Escorts:

I was trying to remember what it was called, so I searched around this therad and found it,
the AUDI S1 Pikes Peak Hillclimb car, and any similar car to it, they look sick.
*EDIT* i just figured out, imk in love with group B rally cars :D

who could forget the s12???
by the way, could someone who actually knows tell me what/why/how rallying became restricted, AWD and overly alot less fun to watch?
thanks.

Since the Audi Quattro, almost every rally car has been AWD. Dunno why it was banned though, check Wikipedia.

AWD wins rallys. Driving all 4 wheels will always be faster off-road than driving just 2.

Rallying was restricted because both drivers and spectators started dying. The Group Bs had 600hp+ and were just far too fast. Spectators would be standing inches on both sides from cars doing more than 100mph, and even in front of the cars on straights to get photos. Nowadays they're restricted to 300hp, 2 litre, turbocharged, in-line 4 cylinder engines - and are only now (the last few years) recording stage times the same as the Group B cars. However, spectator behaviour has improved (except from in Portugal), marshelling has been improved, and the stages themselves are generally safer - although fatalities still occur (Michael Park and Peter Brock in 2005, for example).

Hope that goes towards answering your question.

yup,I didnt realize that the AUDI was AWD until I saw some videos, but wow, those guys must have been fearless, and same goes for the spectators
:dopey:////////O-O :crash: :ouch:

Ah... The Stratos.

But, here's a close call:

The Aston Martin Vantage RallyGT Heh. :D

Venari.

Ah, no.

The Lancia Stratos is the best looking rally car of all time.

The MR2 looks like a military target drone. :D I bet it went well, though.

ford rs200:bowdown:
especially the evolution version

That one is beyond even the Evo versions. That particular car is Mach 2 car used by Stig Blomqvist to take on Pikes Peak. I saw it run at the 2003 Rally Supercar day at Castle Combe (with Stig driving), it kicks out 840bhp and was quite simply a monster.
