Best Standard Car Interior??

That's pretty awesome :)

Is that your favorite standard cockpit on the citadel? :P

Haha, yeah, I think it is! It's the best quality I've seen so far, the LMP's all look pretty 'standard'. Although the thrill of driving the Caterham in 1st person, with HUD off is now immense :D. Also, some of the rear views look pretty interesting, for example, the Toyota 7 race car:

Talk about a face-full of engine!

Prowler. It's like premiums. Working gauges, nice textures. Even vents are detailed/

This. I took this car out last night and was pleasantly surprised at how well this standard interior was done. The color even changes on the dash to match the color of the car just like on the real versions.:)👍

One of the Jaguar roadcars and the Lamborghini Countach [possibly from GT:PSP] were also standard but looked pretty much like a premiums ... has anybody checked the interior on those yet?

The Prowler is almost Premium quality (meaning it's almost the same as some lesser modelled Premium interiors) and it's the only one with working dials it seems.
Since there aren't that many open top cars with this view I wonder why they haven't done the same to the others as well (it's only a handful of cars after all).
The Caterham and Chaparral 2J sure look nice even without working dials, slightly less so for the Toyota 7 (the main dash view) and Suzuki GSX-R/4 although both still being far more enjoyable for me to drive now.
Same goes for the FGT (haven't yet tried the modern Le Mans racers like the BMW V12 and Pescarolos) but the Jay Leno Tank Car is the one I'm least impressed as it clearly has a blurry outdated texture as a dashboard which in this car seems more distracting than for example the Suzuki GSX-R/4, wished they would've made the Tank Car like the Prowler as I love that monster.
And I wish they'd change the HUD to be like the Premium cars instead of bumpercam.
I've put all these open top cars in my favourite list as they finally seem more tempting to use now, still not convinced by the blacked out view on closed cars but that might change (meaning I might start to use it, not seeing it as a proper alternative for a real interior).

I did found some Fact...

If the car is "roof-less", that will call you some old 3D memories.
Most modeling quality are much as PC game 8 year ago standard!
These cockpit view models are different with the external view models.
PD have put a several details on it. (Seem they have not enough talent to make this more prefect...)

Some example,

Common :wild shield is more polygon. Steering wheel are provided and not a shared models (even their texture are Low res.)

Toyota 7: The side gas covers(?) are doesn't like external models just a two pieces of plane there!

Most GT4 Le Mens Prototype : you may say "awesome why didn't apply in GT4 ?"

F2007 (Portable Garage Version): WHAT THE HELL THE STEERING WHEEL FROM PREMIUM F2007 ?

Caterham Seven : I pretty sure the mirrors frame is high polygon models!

in cases.... roof-ness Standard car are disappointed ... yeah... they are high polygon... but they are only dark cockpit without Bonnet and wipers ...

Also... in rainy situation,a ton of rain drops will stuck on wild screen for a while, and you have no Wipers to let the screen clear....

Sometime you will love GT PSP solution just place a camera inside the car models.

You're really smart.

WHAT THE F__K WITH THE SUZUKI GSX-R CONCEPT!

Notice the Wheel

High polygon models , Hi Res texture, Bump mapping... external model are totally different story!

(BTW... I think PD just put the Gadgets which is done a long time and that were give up to use in early years...)

Nice cockpit.

Anyone checked if some of the DTM standard cars have slightly more detailed cockpits? Apologies cant use the PS3 until later this day

I believe the interior views of the standards are just a new camera placement attached to each standard car. And if your standard car is open top you will have more detail in the cockpit view because they already had it modeled. Good example, when using 3rd person view while driving you can somewhat see into the car (if its open top). Same goes for closed top bc the windows are up in the car and there isn't much to look at and when you add the camera attached to the dash, it becomes apparent they didn't do a super beefed up interior model prob bc they thought it was a waste of time or never thought they would add new cams to it. Either way, it is what it is. They said themselves it wasn't spectacular. Either way its all good. The black outline isn't just something copy and pasted, it is the actually outline of your selected standard car. Don't hate the game, hate the player.

Can anyone check the interiors on the Peugeot 106 S16 (GTi) and Rallye please?

And provide a screenshot? I am unable to play on my PS3 as it is bust :(

maybe... the prowler it's very similar to a premium car... maybe in some month the best standards will totally convert to premium , maybe for free ;)

Before Kaz knew that he was going to make/release DLC, he said they were working on upgrading some standards that have historical value. He didn't say historical value, but that's pretty much what he said.

They clearly decided to bump up the polygons and textures a fair bit.

Yeah, I remember that, on gtplanet there's a page who Kaz explain that, and the image used is a R8 LMS from GT PSP...

I really like the new interior cam. Yes, its just blacked out for most cars, but its just about the feeling of really being in the car for me.

But what bugs me is following:
I tried the 190E at the Nordschleife today and noticed that you cannot see the hood or the Mercedes star from the interor view. It seems like, your car gets invisble. In GTPSP, you could really see the hoods from the interior view (and the Mercedes star).

The question is, when will we get real new cars? I mean 2010 and 2011 cars??

They (at least for me) wasted so much time with making a lot of unimportant stuff like all that 11 Nascar textures, that DLC car textures and that intro...

I want to drive the new SLK, the new Golf IV, the new Fiat 500 abarth... I want some more Lambos and a lot more Ferraris and I want all new RUF´s...

Damn...

Has anyone tried the standard SL55? In GT4 this car featured with it's roof down iirc therefore had a modelled interior (well, sort of).

I was bumper cam user and didn't matter for me if standards get cockpits, but... Now I want to drive standards in cockpit view, and only standards :D
Normal dashboard distracts me, and I hate to see 2 wheels, on of my one and one on screen. Black interiors are perfect for me :)

The Caterham Fireblade out of the ones i've tried so far, hud off, shift by ear and you have the recipe for an amazing lap of the 'ring :D

Only cars with open tops have visible interiors, anything with a roof is blacked out.
