Could even bigger avatars be a premium feature?

I know they are right now, but I was wondering if they could be a bit bigger, say 200x200 or 180x180?

120x120 is great, but more is better ;)

200x200 or 180x180 is a ridiculously large size. I recall seeing 150x150 avatars on a forum and it still looked hideous.

Would you rather see half of the new posts on GTP with avatars that big?

I would rather an avatar file size increase on the current size more than anything.

Yeah, a file size increase would be better than bigger avatars. But not just for Premium members! :grumpy:

Also, with bigger avatars, it would screw up the alignment of the page.

With a 200x200 pixel avatar, MachOne could appear almost life-sized... 💡
j/k :p

I'm kind of with G.T here, I think 120x120 is ample for an avatar... maybe 140x140 at a push...

I'll also lobby somewhat for a file size increase for Premium avatars. My current Mad Max 'tar is at least 4x as long, but I could only get 8 frames in at 20k.

Yeah I think Jordan should do that, but for Premium Members only :sly:

Because, you know....we.....kinda..........pay money.

You know.

Sorry, I don't have any plans to increase either the file or dimensional sizes for avatars.

That's it? Really?

No "Sorry, guys, I appreciate the input and the suggestion, and although it sounds good, I don't think it would improve the forum and/or quality of viewing... feel free to post more suggestions as I'll take care and attention to each and everyone of them, since you as users of this GTP, with your opinions reflect the voice of so many other voiceless members who haven't yet voiced their opinions, but whose constant logging in is the very cornerstone of this great website of mine, that all of you have helped me build... thank you users, and thank you especially to premium users."?

Sounds like someone watched the Grammys last night.

It is, however, a moot point at this time.

25.01KB is greater than 25.0KB while being listed as 25.0KB to one decimal place.

GTP - Now with 125% more avatar bandwidth!

I also agree that we should have a larger filesize limit. If it still matters at this point.

I think a bigger file size and a bigger dimension would be a bad idea. Here are my thoughts...

A bigger file size would use more bandwidth and make GTP slower than it already is. :scared: And it would be a waste because it would make little or no difference. Also, it will make loading times slower for the poor dialup and slow internet users.

A bigger avatar would mess up the page and make everything look bad, almost as bad as the home page when Ramesis Niblick III Kerplunk Kerplunk whoops where's my thribble's the last poster in a thread. :scared: :nervous:

You can't say that to a mod. That's a banning offence right there.
He he, I did ask for it I suppose...

Anyway, back on topic - I too would like to see bigger file sizes allowed, but only since it would allow for better quality gifs. I find the 'Save For Web' option on Photoshop (or equivalents) is perfect for bringing jpeg file sizes down to within the current limits.

Please?

Not me by the way, before you get any smart ideas

In Premium there are no ads, thus, everyone would want to go Premium so pages would load faster. See, I'm always looking for the better option for GTP.

Sadly, no one really cares.
