what do you consider disappointments in the gt4 game itself?

i have to say it would be nice to make adjustments during pitstops. making minor ajustments during a race would make it a little more realistic as well.

maybe having pit road animations like guys changing tires. And theres no damage. You hit a wall at 200+ mph and come out invincible. But I guess it makes since theres no damage cause of the enduros.

they didn't put in damage because of the car companies. if we want real car models, no damage, but i agree with you.

Rally physics, five second penalties, wheel purchasing system is far worse then GT3's, All cars and tracks from previous GTs were not included (as was promised), menus still suck.

For some crazy reason they still havent put tier marks. It sucks big time when im drifting cuzz it's taks away from the realism. You just got to have tier marks camon the real driving simulatorWhat ever i think tier marks should be a must in any racing game. 👍

Getting loged off after making a list of disappointments about GT4, signing back on and the whole 🤬 text disappeared, back page didn't do it either!! 👎
is there an automatic log off feature here i don't know about?

i dont know about running out of time because it was two years late as it was.

Yea, but I'd reckon they were trying to get it ASAP because it was so late, so they left some things out.

@Turbo: It's "tire" or "tyre" depending on where you are. And what differernce does it make? you shouldn't be looking behind you when you're driving.

I love GT4, so if I had to pick out some sort of dissapointment:

Racing condtions: night/day, rain/dry, etc.
Race length: Would touring cars really go racing for 6 laps? Or once around the NBR?
Rally: What's with the competitors never going sideways? Or making mistakes?
AI mistakes: Sure the AI gets off line, but never spins a wheel. How about disabling the TCS and ASM for these guys :)

Mabey not to you but i just dont see how thay can make tire smoke but not tier marks. But what ever it is still a good game. :)

they dont have tire marks because of the game engine i think. they dont have damage because the car companys dont want you to see how unsafe their cars are at speed and also if you crashed your day would be done and pd knew that would be no fun.

i really hate the 5 second penalty when the cars ram me into the wall...

the rally still isnt good and there arent enough rally tracks. why cant we have some nice rally sprint races... maybe some nice targas...

and why in the hell cant i drive my sim cars in arcade... that is rather stupid i think.

Hugest disappointment ever about GT4:-

Including useless stuff like Photomode & B-Spec :yuck: at the expense of what they'd been promising us for years.....Online Racing!

A poor compromise, to say the least! :grumpy:

Have you watched a GT4 pitstop? There's 3 guys per wheel, a flag man and a fuel guy. Are you still playing GT3 by mistake, or are have you played the entire game in B-spec? :sly: Or have I misunderstood, and you're disappointed by the fact that they are in GT4? :dopey:

I don't know how the game engine works, but I'm thinking there aren't tire marks and damage because the game engine doesn't handle environment changes.

i totally agree, we need online racing. so now we get to wait another 3 years for ps3 and then hope for online. dont get me wrong, i still race the sh.. out of this game.

real drifting is hard... why not make it hard in a game? it goes against all principles of normal competitive driving...

not to mention its gay.

They didn't put tyremarks or damage in because KY didn't feel like they could be portraid real enough in the game.

Biggest letdown was for sure the lame AI, wich was stated to have been upgraded to a much higher level. Infact, they are almost the same as in GT3.

biggest disappointment? well.. there's no possibility to make engine swaps.. like, having RX-7's 13B replaced with 20B or even 26B, like they do IRL.. and, interior of the car can not be altered either, there's no visual changes when you put roll cage on convertibles.. just to mention few..

naw.. V8's suck. besides, 26B easily runs out from all V8's, no matter how much displacement they have.

but with say, a 350 small block the weight up front actually goes down a bit and the amount of extra torque it makes over a rotary is great. just imagin having a 400hp v8 in an fc3...

The AI has got to be the single worst "feature" of the game. I've developed driving techniques specifically designed to stay as far away from the other cars as possible because if they are anywhere near me I can just about guarantee that they will slam me off the course, spin me around, bash me repeatedly and then continue on to win.

So, I almost always try to use the softest possible tire, jump ahead of the pack using NOS (I use it to "squirt" past each AI car, so they don't have time to pull into the side of my vehicle and ram me off the track). Then I try to get so far ahead that I can pit and replace my softer tires before they catch me, or, at the very least, before all but the lead car or two catch me.

The whacked physics in Two Player Battle Mode is also a big problem for me. The cars drive differently enough in TPBM that I don't drive nearly as well (my times around the ring in TPBM are usually 45 seconds longer than they are in the identical car in GT mode!)

These problems wouldn't be so glaring if they weren't part of such an otherwise fantastic game. That just makes the disappointment all the worse.

Also having driving aids defaulted to on for every car. This means every time I get in a car I have to go and switch them off. :grumpy: They should be set to 0 as default, and those that need them can turn them on. 👍
